I mean the companions have already been compared to certain foods but the developers have never really touched on how they smell, we know that Ferelden smells like wet dog but do the people from Ferelden also smell of wet dog? What would an Orlesian or Qunari smell like? How about Oghren? What do you think each of the 12 companions and advisors in Inquisition would smell like?
What do you think each of the companions would smell like?

Yeah I am not sure of the "new book smell" either but there are no wrong answers. Well there probably are but we shall never know.

If it will be anything like it used to be on our own planet, they probably won't take a daily shower for starters... Even though Vivienne will probably use an abundance of perfume...
So I don't think you want to know how they smell (or maybe yet, you do!).

The real question is: What would their sweat smell and taste like?
Should i feel bad for watching the entire loop?

That was the common myth that actually kept people from bathing. Regular bathing and hygiene would have prevented many diseases and deaths.
Cullen smells like vanilla.
Vivienne like cinnamon.
Leliana like lavender.
Sera like those tiny oranges.
Iron Bull like old leather.
Cole like ashes.
Oh, I do like the cut of your jib. I think Leliana would be better suited to Oleander. You know, pretty, rather hardy yet delicate--and deadly.
Though they most likely smell like sweat and pixels.

At first...I instantly thought of the Tali sweat thread.
However, after thinking about it a bit more - it really is a good question. And in some ways - so is the taste of Tali's sweat. But only from a literary point of view. We gamers and movie watchers and comic readers tend to forget that there are other senses that we couldn't possibly transmit and that's taste and smell - something that reading a book can delve into but comics and games and movies simply can't.
Having someones smell described gives the reader a better sense of the character without having everything spelled out for them via dialog. I'm sure that Tali's sweat thread wasn't created for that purpose (and more on a weird and creepy level) but sometimes it's best to look at things from a different perspective so we aren't face palming everything.

Blackwall - Heavy wool, dry pine, and last night's campfire
Cassandra - Primarily of the mineral oil she uses to care for her weapons and armor, but with a faint scent of cherry blossom lingering beneath
Iron Bull - Man musk, tall grass, and a mix of mint and salt.
Cole - Cold, dry air just after a lightning strike, and an almost undetectable tone of camphor
Sera - Ripe berries, autumn fields, and cloves
Varrick - Humidity, grooming oils, and the cedar chips in which he stores his finest clothes.
Vivienne - Perfume, kohl, deep drifts of snow, and cold, icy metal.
Solas - Freshly turned soil, root vegetables, and the air after a rainstorm.
Dorian - Inks and parchment, silk, and burning candles.

They would all smell horrible in some regard. They run around in heavy clothing, leather or steel armor and seem to rarely take a bath. It will be like you are a with a group of medieval knights.
