Can we at least get a screenshot of a MOUSE CURSOR?

In both of this year's E3 vid's (and last years') and all the screenshots/montages I have seen thus far, there has been no actual evidence that there is in fact a PC UI in DA:I.

And in light of this thread and the discussion of the clearly console-centered review contained therein, I am getting a bit concerned here.  To be frank, concerned about the validity of previous dev comments (or merely assumptions) stating that PC has always been lead platform for this 2+ year production.

If this turns out to be a game in which I now have to push a button to zoom out (whatever that 'tactics mode' thing is), or I am unable to pan and zoom via right-click etc, or I can't even click on enemies to attack or doors to go through, I will be livid, and I absolutely will cancel my 2 pre-orders.

Perhaps I missed a screenshot at some point, or maybe somebody can console me that Mike Laidlaw has already confirmed this, but please someone set my mind at ease here.

The PC version is a lie. You are not the master race.

As far as hard evidence on a PC exclusive ui, there isn't any. We do have confirmation from the devs, but nothing has been shown so far, no.

Sounds like someone is having a fit of Nerdrage.

It'll be okay. EA is partnered with Microsoft and as such they prefer to show things on their platforms. Its like low level subliminal advertising.

This just begs for a Bioware employee to respond with a screenshot of a mouse cursor. Nothing else, just the cursor.

Yeah I would really like to see Keyboard and mouse UI too.

It'll be okay. EA is partnered with Microsoft and as such they prefer to trick people into thinking the game is being played on their platforms.* Its like low level subliminal advertising.

I never understood the attitude towards making anything exclusive to Xbox instead of making it both Xbox and Windows exclusive, I never understood what they lose from porting.

Obviously, as we all know that all console games are developed and demo'd on PC's.  My problem is this wasn't the case with DA:O or even DA:2 (right?)

Again, I understand this as normal, I just am getting a bit jumpy.  Nerdraging, as you say. :)  Actually a better description would be geek-twitching.

And THAT would allay my fears just as easily!  I just want to be sure this fall will not include a trip to Bioware HQ with a sidestop at Ace Hardware for 6 gallons of red paint and a blowhorn.

Bioware has tried so hard to avoid the blinding rage and hatred of the internet, and to reverse their (perceived) many mistake from DA2 by bringing back exactly those features that were in high demand, that I cannot imagine they would willingly create the shitstorm that would follow from not having a proper PC UI (even DA2 had a PC UI).

I bet you 10 bucks it's the same mouse cursor from DA:O.

So why not at least show some of it at E3?  Unless they do not plan on utilizing the already established fanbase to sell copies?

As a brand Xbox is more recognizable than a PC. Colorful buttons and shiny things are pretty.

As for exclusivity it's around the same logic. Titanfall for example is labeled as an Xbox exclusive though a PC version exists. It's all about marketing.

From Microsoft's point of view they get more money from sales on Xbox than they do on PC. As I recall, they get licence fees on Xbox but not on Windows. You also have to actually buy the Xbox which is a lot more expensive than Windows(that most people probably already own anyway).

The Xbox is more of a closed system which means that they have more control over what goes on for it than they do for Windows. I imagine they would much rather prefer to have that control over everything.

Microsoft also wants the Xbox to be a multimedia platform. They failed with the XB1 and had to cut features due to fan rage, but they'll try again next generation if the XB1 lives long enough for them to do it.

What I mean is that I don't get why stuff like Halo, Killer Instinct, etc has to truly be exclusive.

Back on topic I hope they consider a grid for PC inventory UI.

I hope it's the same mouse cursor from DA:O! I love those cursors so much I've changed my regular PC cursors to the DA ones.

I still have not even thought about getting Watch_Dogs based on what some sites are saying Ubisoft did to the PC version so it didn't outperform consoels and thus hurt console sales.  This obviously dovetails into a bigger, more controversial topic, but exclusivity is not something that will likely go away.

E3 is very "wow explosions" centric (Not that I don't like explosions). People asking to see keyboard & mouse UI want straight information, not theatrics. I feel like a dev diary or something with very little flair would be more appropriate to showcase PC centric features.

Agreed.  I just cannot seem to find any.

Is it not because it's quicker to show off a game via a controller than Keyboard and Mouse? Easier too?

Three words. "Owned by Microsoft". Do I really need to elaborate?

The cynic in me wants to say that they're far more interested in appeasing the loudest fanbases, which are "FemQuisitor in trailers and not a male or we'll whine on the forums for a thousand posts" and "Which character can I sleep with?" respectively.

It really explains pretty much all the info we've been given so far.

they get a cut of the game sales for games sold on the Xbox One, they don't for PC games? It's that simple.

Hopefully the delay means that Bioware is taking their time to polish the UI and not that it's gonna be tacked on last minute as an afterthought.
