Great idea. Let's also implement the ramifications of trying that too and see where your luck goes.

That's the idea, yeah. I doubt they would give us the name of the Inquisition if it didn't have the religious connotations.

So what do you think would happen if you tried forcibly converting people to Elven worship in human-dominated regions with presumably a mostly human force?
Instant success, no?

Fingers crossed we can recruit a Dalish clan or two for our forces.

They created an Inquisition in their own in-game universe. So it has nothing to do with the real world proxy. Believe that if you like or not if you like, but I'm sure there's a butt ton of people which don't know what the Spanish Inquisition even was.

Yeah we're the Thedas Inquisition not the Spanish Inquisition.
No need to fetch the comfy chair for heretics.

I assume so considering the name of Inquisition implies that. But say if your the Dalish Inquisitor. Could you say make Andrastrians denounce their faith and make them convert to Elven God worship?
The Dalish aren't like the Chantry, where they want the Chant sung from the four corners of the world and want everyone to follow the faith - you're welcome to follow it, or not. Zevran's mother, Arianni, Velanna, and Merrill are just a few examples that you can leave and go your own way among the Dalish. I suppose some elves might reconsider their Andrastian faith due to a Dalish elf surviving the cataclysm at a holy site (and I doubt the elven Inquisitor who believes in the tenants of the People would shy away from the fact that he or she follows the Creators, and not the Maker), but I can't imagine most Dalish trying to convert anyone by force when it goes against how they have traditionally acted for centuries.

I don't think Bioware will allow you to act out your imperialist fantasies for Thedas with the Inquisition, any more than they did with the Grey Wardens in DA:O.

As said above, it is not the Spanish Inquisition.
We rise up effectively in opposition to the Chantry (Mark Darrah's words).
Inquisition likely refers to 'be inquisitive' or asking a lot of questions. We're solving a mystery and bringing those responsible to justice.
Not forcibly converting people to any particular religion.

Lol, it would be awesome if we could convert people but that's way too real world for Bioware I'm afraid.

It makes no sense because that has nothing to do with the motives of the Inquisition in Thedas, the inquisitor doesnt even have to be Andrastian let alone everyone you meet

Well, Bioware characters can end generational conflicts by talking it out for five minutes. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do this. It would be a daring option to include, that's for sure.

Close the hole in the sky first, then you can spread the message of the Lord.

Indeed. They don't even seem to try to force conversion on people who were non-Dalish who came to live with them. I'm sure the one time Hawke saw Pol slip up wasn't only time Pol slipped up, and they didn't kick him out for it.

My surface dwarf Inquisitor is going to make everyone worship the Great Nug, which she just made up. Because she can.
(Or, more probably, not.)

That's cos he was trying to follow the Creators even if he did slip up sometimes, a Dalish elf who openly believed in the maker instead of the pagan elven religion would likely get exiled or killed eventually.

Adrastians: We will destroy you pathetic elf's and show you how peaceful and loving maker is.
Meanwhile in Orzammar: What should I build to become paragon.
I still think Inquisition should make Varric paragon and worship him.

You can't force an Andrastian to follow the Elven gods, unreformed pagans cannot do forced conversions.

You can declare holy war on country but neighbouring country's with same religion can join the war.
