So now that we have mounts..

But here is the thing, we can now call mounts to travel around the vast world and all… but what about our companions? Will they get their mounts too? I mean I never got to see them mounted on the demo videos so I’m a bit confused at this. If so will their mounts reflect their tastes, like their armors ? Or if not, will they use instant transmission to get wherever you dismount at?

Companions get stuffed into your saddle bags while you're mounted and pop back out when you dismount.
Or maybe you put them on a pocket dimension with your green hand.. seriously the awkardness of having dismounted companions in Skyrim was already too much... now to have three of them.

In all seriousness though, and I don't feel like searching for the exact dev quote - no, companions will not have mounts. When using a mount, your companions temporarily 'disappear' and then 're-appear' behind you when you dismount. You will not hear any party banter while on a mount.

Pocket dimension for the win then. At least it's better than have Lydia sprinting behind you. Thanks for the info.

I have a mount-question, not sure if it's been answered.
I know that we can have access to several different mounts. Does the different ones make a gameplay-related difference, or is it just for looks?

Just imagine that your companions quickly spread out when you mount, then rejoin you when you dismount ![]()

I'm going to imagine they're all above my head riding griffins. (That they refuse to share with the Inquistor, because they're meanies.)
Well, if you had a Gryphon, would you share?

You make a fair point.

Someone needs to draw that. Now.

So sad that this happens on a current gen (Xbox One/PS4) title. Perhaps in Dragon age 4 when Bioware isn't held back by having to develop on the PS3/Xbox 360, maybe then could our companions also have mounts.

I don't care that they disappear. I'll hardly use mounts anyway. At least the first time I'm exploring a region.

Indeed - Though there's one good thing that comes with being held back by those "ancient" devices:
If you use a PC, you don't have to replace hardware as fast (hell, even with the current consoles it is this way - my computer is faster if compared to both PS4 and the Xbox One and it's two years old now...I only had to buy a new graphics card last year (the old one was a re-use from the previous computer (where I had inserted it a month before the thing started acting up and was replaced, so the card was decent enough for the new one till the new models came out))

I killed a lot of horses going down mountains... It was worth it though, such a funny animation. It should totally have killed my dragonborn as well, but I just got up like nothing was wrong.

Maybe speed at most. But otherwise it's just for show, which is a shame as the Bog Unicorn has a sword coming out of its head.
