I'm trying to find out which vender/place will give me the best price to sell items.  I don't think it is the dwarven guys in camp.  I want to maximize my profit on sold goods.

If you are Dwarven Noble then the Dwarf Merchant in Denerim

Addition to what AntiChri5 said: ALL vendors buy from you at 25% of item value, with the exception of Gorim in Denerim, who will pay you 50% IF you are a Dwarf noble.

The amount at which they **sell** to you, however, varies quite a bit, ranging from Value +10% to Value +50% (which is Bodahn, in your Camp). SPOILER ALERT! And much to my chagrin after some other anti-Bodahn rants I've made, it seems that Ruck in the Ortan Thaig sells at Value +200%. (Serious ouch. Good thing that he has little worth buying.) /SPOILER ALERT!

So is Bodahn the best to sell to? I thought I went to quartermaster and he offered me better price, but wasn't positive.

Items have such a brutal mark up on this game. Sold my Blood Dragon Armour for 7 gold, went to buy it back and ended up paying 42. Ouch.

VERY deliberate.  Unlike other FRPGs, you can't augment your purse by cranking out Crafted items.  As far as I know, the _only_ Crafted item that you can make a profit on over the purchase price of the components is the Potent Lyrium potion.  And that ONLY if you purchased components from the cheaper vendors.

[Wonder how all this might change if they ever -- VERY unlikely -- create an Origin story for someone with a Merchant background.]

As mentioned above, if you are wondering who is the cheapest vendors (value +10-20%) to sell to, it makes no difference at all.

If you are wondering who is the cheapest vendors to buy to, keep in mind that they probably don't have the items you want to buy.

For crafting materials, lyrium from Mage quartermasters, Varathorn for herbs, and Bartender at Gnawed Noble Tavern for miscs.

For unique weapons and armors, you have no choice but to pay whatever the merchant wants to charge them.

Unless you are a dwarf noble and sell to Gorim.  Then you can buy your stuff from Bodhan and still make a boat load of money!
