Hey,

me again - this time about combat (which looks fantastic in the videos), but:

While I myself love action-combat (with movement and dodging), I sometimes want something different - now, you said that (and you have shown it, too) that the strategic-combat is still part of the game (and I will use that often, overview is always nice to have - even the military knows it, from the photo-recon flights to drones constantly providing them with a view of the fighting, to satelites), I have a few questions:

1. Have you removed that hook that draws enemies toward the warrior? (haven't seen that one in a while, and I kind of liked it)

2. Can you and your party survive only fighting in tactical-mode? (for those of us that do not like the action-orriented fighting - i mean in that mode dodging seems rather hard...-.-)

3. Combat interface on the PC? (with a mouse and keyboard - we only ever see a console like interface (and you always seem to use an X-Box-Controller...I got one, too - but I am not good with it...have been playing with mouse and keyboard since I was old enough to use either thus I am tons better with those compared to me playing with a controller...)

4. Aiming of spells/ranged attacks? (do you klick on the enemy World of Warcraft Style? and all spells/shots/throws (except the AOE ones) go there? Or is there a crosshair I just didn't see yet? (would fit the action-mode nicely to play it Mass Effect like :) ))

...(might add some later)

Your turn (a dev.-answer would of course be really nice...)

1. It was mentioned as a tactic that could be used to snatch archers through Walls of Ice or the like to increase damage. While I loathe these sorts of MMO abilities, they are not mandatory, so am good with optional.

2. In my experience, Tactical view gives the advantage in surviving battles. And DA2 had such Dodging as Talents, so they also can be tactical.

3. ?

4. Aiming is done automatically when selecting an enemy. Whether one does damage and how much is up to the game mechanics, I believe.

Hope this is helpful; pls seek confirmation.

Hey,

me again (note: I post this without reading the answers, because I have another question):

Will there be (are there - as you are already about done, I think) mounted enemies? (maybe even some combat involving cavalry and ranks (like reinforcing flanks in larger fights etc.))

1. I do not believe the "Get-Over-Here" chain ability has been removed. That it wasn't showcased in E3 probably means that Iron Bull wasn't spec'd with it. The trailer did show that Rogues have an ability to use a similar chain that pulls them closer to the enemy rather than the other way around.

2. Theoretically yes. Allen contributes to a discussion on it here: http://forum.bioware...orld/?bioware=1

3. We haven't seen any of it, but based on developer comments, yes. See thread linked in Point 2. Edit: whoops, do not see it there. My eyes deceived me. There have been tweets and such, however, saying it will be shown.

4. Umm. Speculation based on videos: It appears that it depends on whether you're using 3rd person or tactical view. If you're in third person view with a controller, you aim with the right -pad, but not like a shooter. Moving the the l-pad switches between targets rather than allowing you to free aim and miss. In tactical view, you select an enemy to target with a button press or mouse click. Again, speculation based on videos.

5. Player characters do not get to fight on mounts. I would presume enemies don't get to either.
