Star Wars: Jedi Knights: Jedi Academy will not get any sequel.  Moving forwards, everything from the previous Star Wars "Expanded Universe" (i.e., all the previous novels, Dark Forces, Outcast, Academy, Knights of the Old Republic series, etc.) will NOT be considered as canon.  That's what Disney has decided after taking over the Star War franchise.  Disney is scrapping everything from the past and starts over.  Only the six movies are considered as canon.

I'm waiting for your point. What LucasFilms do with the movie timeline bullocks is irrelevant to the games as I'm sure you're aware with the fact that TOR is still going on, and LucasFilms having said that they aren't forbidding books outside of the movie timeline being made.

And what does it matter anyway? -- The thread is about games that "deserve" sequels.

Do you think video game companies will still be be interested in the "outdated" (non-)canon after Disney redefines/releases the new canon?  There will certainly be new Star Wars games, but in the future they will all conform the new Disney canon.  The old canon will just be gradually... faded and be forgotten.

Some bloke at LucasFilms saying the stuff that came after the movies are non-canon aren't going to magically make all the Expanded Universe stuff fade away from your shelf -- Are you even aware of the fact that Lucas has long since said that the Expanded Universe is not part of the canon of his films yet he acknowledges them anyway? Disney isn't redefining anything, they are just stating the bleeding obvious, something which anyone were already aware of from the start. The fact that the movies are a separate entity from the rest of Star Wars. I suppose it wasn't enough that Lucas already said the same thing long ago. There'll still be books, there'll still be games set in the Old Republic, given that the timeline is so far away from the movies that it would mean precisely as much.

I don't think you've understood the crucial part of what this thread is about to begin with.

Take it to the Star Wars thread if you wanna have this discussion so badly.

The crowd can rage, but Disney is the new boss.

SCRAPLAND!

Game by American McGee about a robot in a floating city of robots. Third person adventure, a key premise is overly violent lifestyles (NPCs in the "open world" are always seen in open combat), and lots of betting. All around great game.

Hatoful Boyfriend, it got the side story collection spinoff, but it doesn't have an actual sequel yet.

I'm still surprised that a VtmB sequel hasn't been on Kickstarter, or something.

NES game Crystalis. It was a crazy RPG mix of tech and fantasy, action game and Zelda puzzle items. Fun times.

SRPG "Jeanne D'Arc" could use a sequel of some kind, even if a spiritual successor featuring another historical figure.

If We're talking just obscure games...

Freedom Fighters.
One of My all time favorite games(that reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally needs to be released on GOG or something!), and it had the best soundtrack in a game ever! That's what really makes this game. The soundtrack makes the atmosphere to the game so much...words can't describe it. It needs to be played for you to understand.

Take a ****** listen to it! @_@

Return To Krondor

NOX

Emperor: Battle for Dune.

Eye of the Beholder(Not so much obscure as forgotten.)

Hunter: The Reckoning

Jet Set Radio Future

Enclave

Armed and Dangerous

The Bard's Tale(2004)

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
(Again, not quite obscure, but not a whole lot of people bought it, but it's good and I want a third Riddick game)

Arx Fatalis(I think it's time I reinstall this...)

Gladius

Dale Gribble: Bounty Hunt-ER, UH I mean, Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter

Tyrian(2000)

Strife

Brute Force
(again, more of a forgotten game, but still)

I know I'm forgetting many, but that's everything I can remember off the top of My head.

There needs to be a good Evil Dead game. All the Evil Dead games are really bad. Heck they could just copy the recent Tomb Raider or Bioshock or the Arkham games and it would be decent.

Outcast was a nice little Sci-Fi adventure. Too bad my computer didn't like playing such an old game so I had to give up on it.

Probably not obscure, but it deserves a sequel.

DIEEEEEEEEEEE

just kidding  :P

Jokes aside, I'd like to see a next-gen sequel to Call of Duty: World at War *cowers in a corner*

I loved the change in direction they took with going back in time, and both WW1 and WW2 have always been my favourite part of history to study.

Also, it's not really obscure, but I'd love to see a sequel to Halo 3: ODST. Really loved as playing as the grunt soldier rather than the big hero.

Other than that, would love a sequel to Burnout Paradise and Castle Crashers.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto

So old, yet so pretty. (And so poorly optimized for ATI/AMD GPU's)

Another great game, actually from Bioware no less. Would be SOOOOOOO happy for a sequel. Shame that the HD PC version is so badly optimized. MDK2:

While not so obscured, I will be very happy for a Dune 4 game. RIP Westwood :((((

Today I learned that Isi hasn't played it yet, I told him to get on that. XD

It'll never happen, but I really want a sequel to Nightshade Part 1:

The Claws of Sutekh, aka Nightshade. Now that is a game that is obscure as could be because I have never met another soul who has heard of it, let alone played it.

It was revolutionary back in the day:

"Instead of a save feature or extra lives, the villain Sutekh would throw Nightshade into a deathtrap. The first four traps each had a solution and Nightshade would escape back onto the streets of Metro City (minus some popularity points). The final one does not, and the player would have to start over from the beginning of the game. Additionally the game begins with Nightshade tied to a chair, next to which Sutekh has placed a small bomb. While technically not a deathtrap (the bomb, if not escaped on time, does not do lethal damage) this introduces the trap escape, problem solving element early on."

Also it has Part 1 in the name, the name demands a sequel...

I'd also be cool with Jet Force Gemini getting a sequel. Rumor has it that it might actually be getting one, but I remain skeptical.
