Hey,

It's a me!

(sorry, it was fitting though ^^ )

And I have another question (for the devs, if they have time to answer):

Why are we going back to Ferelden again (instead of visiting more interesting countries, from the Anderfells to Tevinter)?

What's making this backwater country so important? It's not rich, it does not have strong armies etc. - So:

WHY?

I mean we know so much about Ferelden already and not enough (IMO) about the other - more interesting - places...not that Ferelden doesn't offer some spots I would like to visit, like their mage-prison :) (I would like to know why they even have one...most crimes mages commit carry a death sentence (being an apostate and resisting arrest, blood-magic, destroying ones phylactery probably, resisting the templars, not wanting to take the ritual of tranquility etc.), so who's left to be locked up?)

greetings LAX

Just a guess here... but I imagine that since part of the draw of the Dragon Age series is seeing the consequences of decisions you've made in past games, returning to Ferelden where your Warden had a direct impact on the land and people is a perfect opportunity to indulge in that.

Im assuming it fits the plot better, i'd prefer our locations make sense taking the story into consideration , rather than just going to say Seheron because "why not, it would be cool to see it"

Because Ferelden is the only country that matters. Those snooty, painted fops, ashen-skinned oxmen or mage overlords ain't worth the ground the Warden spits upon!

I want to visit the Warden's Rest and hear everyone in Redcliff point how awesome my Warden was because he saved everyone!

Ferelden is where our introduction to Thedas and Dragon Age began. It holds significance to the franchise, and revisiting it is a good idea, given the amount of work presumably being put into this new title.

We will not be stuck there;Ferelden is but one of many places we will be traversing and exploring in Inquisition, so I don't see a reason to be worried. We'll have the chance to see familiar locations revisited and redesigned, as well as explore and learn about brand new locations we've never had the chance to experience.

Or they will rant about how much they hate the Warden if he/she left Redcliff to die.

Agreed, personally I'm going to play with saves where Redcliff is destroyed and saved just to see the different reactions.

It's possible, not that's there's anything wrong with visiting important old locations, mainly to see how our decisions have affected things.

Hopefully we get the chance before:

Spoiler

Edit: err, maybe I shouldn't assume everyone saw the demo.

Ferelden's better than all the other countries.

They have a blight, it lasts for a decade at the least, centuries at the most.

Ferelden has a blight, it's ass is kicked in less than a year, during a civil war/succession crisis, with only three Wardens.

Ferelden Exceptionalism; because they're objectively better than everyone else.

Why not we get to go fight in two nations and bioware wanted the story to take place in these nations we will be seeing new places on ferelden. Bioware are saving tevinter for the next game is my bet. And ferelden is a great nation going back there is a good thing.

I totally understand being bored with Ferelden. Take heart in the fact that this is a new engine, so Ferelden won't be so brown anymore. ;)
Personally, I'm pleased as punch that the human Inquisitor hails from the Free Marches rather than Ferelden. Three Ferelden heroes in a row would have been a bit much for me.

I'm holding out hope for Dragon Age 4: Black Flag where you play as a raider who rises to prominence off the coast of Rivain.

Do you know the Sacred Ashes quest where Oghren talks about the rich deposit of lyrium in the mountain? That was a set-up for the events in DA:I. It begins when there's a peace conference at the Sacred Ashes that site and someone uses that lyrium to kill everyone.

According to someone I talked to about this they said (this is not my words I'm more inclined to agree with the posters bringing up the Sacred Ashes) that it's because ''Bioware is giving us DAO .2 which is the only game any fan really wants they learned their lesson from that city sim DA2''

Again I'm thinking its because of the Urn but you can defile it so I'm not sure how that will change things for players that did do that.
