Considering that the Urn is said to cure anything, could it be possible to cure a Grey Warden from the taint?

I don't see why not.
Wait.. the Urn can curse anything as well?
I'm not sure the Urn can cure the corruption. Maybe. The thing I wanna know is how the heck did Fiona have a taintless child? Spoilers ![]()
I doubt it since the Grey Wardens is more then just darkspawn blood, and they willingly take it in so it's not really a disease.

But its still a harmful/unholy substance that kills them slowly, their willingness to drink it isnt really a factor
No, otherwise the Warden would have been cured, and as such, ultimate sacrifice wouldn't have been an option.
Well technically he would just need to kill himself near it instead of going on the calling and happy day new life taint free.
Edit: Or find a huge concentration of Lyrium.
It's a bit odd that this never came up in DAO. Didn't anyone in the group wonder if the magic Urn could do more than revive a sick old man? Nope, just grab a pinch for Eamon... don't worry about Wynne dying slowly, the Wardens dying slowly, or the werewolves.

I think it's because the place was designed for one healing. Ideally the person who needed healed would go through all the trials, get healed, and leave. There might of been safeguards to stop someone from taking more then was needed.

Yeah. I was doing a Origins Play though and I finished with the Urn. I never thought of this until now, and I now wonder if this could work. Like maybe we find some remaining ashes and when the Warden eventually comes to the end of their stories you can have the option to close it off by curing them and they get a happily ever after.

The trial wasn't even designed well enough to stop somebody who didn't even complete the trial properly from taking the ashes let alone stop them from tainting them, somehow I doubt there was a system in place that states only one pinch of ash per pilgrim and even if there were 4 people in your party completed the trial.

This is a functional excuse for a plot hole but I don't buy it. ![]()

Well there's also the whole curing the taint would mean the archdemon wouldn't die, and there'd be no way for morrigan to get her OGB because you aren't tainted anymore. Also werewolves was an enchantment, not a disease, and wynne willing accepted the spirit in her, she was basically dying of exhaustion where as Eamon was dying of (magical?) poison. Plot hole sure..but it would of been a much shorter, and probably very lame game otherwise

Obviously it makes sense for dramatic reasons but not logical ones.
I already headcanoned one of my Wardens using the urn to cure himself around act 2 of DA2. ![]()

Well, if Fiona can get out of the Calling (taint as well? I forget) by just using enchanted trinkets, magic, and blight magic, why not? No magic known or available could heal Eamon.
However, those ashes are limited and sacred to the Chantry, it would be wrong for a Warden to just take them to cure the taint and thus break the vows made to be a Warden. Especially since they could just mess with blight magic if they really want, with information of the Darkspawn, what Remille was able to do, what happened with Fiona, and any other secrets they have, they could find better alternatives to the Urn.

Possibly. But as it is now, until I see those options, the Urn seems to be the only way to permanently deal with it

I probably should of put more detail, I know its a disease weather it was willingly or not, but its not just a taint like the darkspawn bit them or something. There's lyrium, magic, and Archdemon blood involved in the Grey Warden's taint. The willingly take it in part was implying that they knew what they were doing and weren't looking for a cure, at least in DA:O.

You touched them and they didn't cure your taint as the Warden.

We didn't use it on the Warden.
But then you never would've been able to kill the archdemon, or hear the darkspawn, or be a general badass...

Curing the taint would be something you do when your Calling is around the corner
