Are you for it? Against it? A simple yes or no will suffice, I just want to get a general feel of how its viewed by everyone.

Personally, I'm for it, can't really explain why. Maybe I like the idea of having to step out of your comfort zone to see more content?

I don't care one way or another.

BioWare has yet to make a game where the most popular race (humans) was rated against. If anything, it rewards people for making the most common choice.

Yes as part of others restrictions.

Still prefer the no restrictions route.

Unless its very important for the character, strongly against, no need for more restrictions especially when we have to wait years for the next game to come out in order to have more LI's

As an idea of it allowing more diverse content I'm for it.  Though I'm not certain how it will play out at this point.  I have a feeling some people will be screwed out of some favorite combos, and the extra content won't do much for them. We shall see how it goes.  In other words I'll vote after we get the final news on who's gated to what.

Against it, especially if its placed on the non bisexual characters. I like race restrictions for things like the story and plot like race x can't get into this area as easily (or at all) as race Y can. That I like. Race restrictions on the LIs I do not like, and I will be passing up ones that require me to play as a human unless they are VERY compelling like to the point where there is just something mind blowing about their romance that's different from friendship that could change the way I look at the game. Other than that nope won't do it.

Not crazy about it, but not categorically against it. If it makes sense for the character they wrote, then okay.

I think this question can only be asked in the context of a reason for the gating. People are generally against restrictions on anything, without context.

Depending on how it's implemented, I could be for it.

Against it, I just think it's an unneeded addition.

Choosing a LI can already be fairly restrictive, I don't like the idea of adding onto that and it saying if you want to romance so and so you can only do it if you act this or that.

Yes, if it is important for the story. I'd feel best about it if it was due to specific story events that some races could not access, though, rather than something that comes off as blatantly superficial.

Indifferent. If I don't get that romance content with this character, I'll get it with another one.

Fairly indifferent.

I'd only have a problem with it if the reasons certain character's are race gated seemed convoluted.

I suppose it depends on the reasons given and how it affects the ability to make choices.  As a concept it makes sense, I guess...if it's done right.

I would say that I'm for it, if only because I think restrictions would create a character I wouldn't want to romance with that specific race if the LI was so against taking an interest on that basis.  I could always choose another LI, or just go it alone, if that specific companion/adviser wasn't available.

As a resource issue I understand it. If the story reasons for it are good, I can also understand it. I don' think it's something most people are typically "yay" about, since it's a restriction, but I don't think it's quite so horrible since it will only be applied to two characters. I'm very curious on what the reasons will be, though.

I'm all for it.

It seems perfectly logical to me that some characters wouldn't be attracted to some people, certainly in such a racially... uh... not sure how to word it but racially divided I suppose world? Gender seems less of a big deal, but race is a big deal. If it makes sense to the character why not, maybe even have it be a really difficult quest to have them change their mind about it, or you know the character just isn't into insert race here.

When I first heard of race-gating, it made me nervous. But I think as long as it fits the character, I could see it. I really think I'll have to see how BW handle this in game to see if it's a feature I would support in future games.

Against it.

But I don't think they're doing it just because they want to, I'm more likely to believe that they're doing it because there wasn't enough time/resources to make all romances available for all races.

I'm for it. I honestly thought it would be cool if they did something like race gating but I didn't think they would get to it in this game. Guess I was wrong.

Not really a fan of it, there's already plenty of reason to play as another race or gender. But I'll get used to it once I find out which romances are actually race gated.

I am wondering if the race gating is there because of animation limitations or not. We know that it used to be that way with Iron Bull and now it's not (yay!). So are the characters race gated now because it really makes sense or because it HAD to make sense due to there being no way around the animation problems?
