Yes as part of others restrictions.
Still prefer the no restrictions route.

Against all restrictions in this context really. No need for it and ultimately pointless.

Race gating makes sense. I can't imagine everybody being everyone else's cup of tea.

I guess it makes sense, but there really aren't that many options to start with... I mean, let's say you play as a straight male elf, which I plan to. The only elven female is already a lesbian and then you get race gated by one of the only 2 (maybe 3) options left? Yeah, I can't say I'm looking forward to that...

I fully support it

If it makes sense, why not?
I think the writing team cna come up with good reasons for why that character is exclusive to that race.

I don't really mind one way or the other, on one hand it potentially limits my pc's options for romance, on the other hand, if I liked the race gated character enough it would make me do a playthrough for that romance which adds replayability.
I am more in favour of race gating than against it, as it adds replayability and in my opinion more character depth.

I am in favour of race gating as long as a satisfactory explanation is provided.

I still don't buy the "character depth" argument.
It doesn't add any more character depth than if they preferred apples to oranges. At best it's just a random, meaningless, arbitrary quirk of their personality.

I'm for it, I wanted Varric to be a straight Dwarf only type of guy and race gating is leading to that possibility. And Vivienne makes perfect sense to not want to get with a non human.
For me though romance content isn't even on my radar in terms of what I want in a game though so restrictions of any kind doesn't ****** me off like it does to the majority of this board who rank romance content in their most important parts of the game lists.

I like gating for romances in general, it adds to the character. Everyone has their own taste in who they think is attractive and who isn't. I would not mind if the gate was even a soft gate one of those things where an elf has an easier time romancing someone over a qunari or a dwarf has a easier time than a human. Its all about taste and characterization I never want to see complete player sexuality like we did in DA2 again that was one of my bigger complaints it detracted from the characters I thought.

I really don't care that much... I'm even for it if it means it gives devs the added development time to create more romanceable characters. I care a lot more about having options to suit my real life gender, and, to a lesser extent, orientation than which fantasy race I'm going to play... i.e. I have no interest in playing a dwarf, but I'd play a female dwarf over a male anything to romance a specific character if I liked them enough.

I'm against it but have had to learn to accept it.

I am against it in that it would drastically lower my opinion of that particular character.

If there's a very good reason for it that isn't just plain racism or bigotry, I'll accept it as it somewhat adds to shaping the character. I'd prefer there to be no race gating given a choice, however, as I'm a huge fan of cross race romances.

I'm fine with it as long as it is limited to a few specific characters whose romance wouldn't work or make sense with all the races.

Depending on the character and how it is done, I'm all for it. We already know that Varric isn't attracted to Humans so if he is an LI, I'd expect him to be race gated.
Considering the typical Orlesian attitude towards Elves, I could also see Vivienne not being attracted to a Dalish Inquisitor, but I could also see her not caring.
Basically it all depends on the reasoning behind it, if there is a valid reason that means it makes sense for an LI only to be attracted to certain races then, I'm all for it.
If it turns out to be race gating for the sake of race gating then I'm not.

this. it make sense to have race restriction.

this. it make sense to have race restriction.
That's the only reason why I've made peace with it. It could easily tie into the story. I still don't like it though, and I doubt I ever will.

What is race gaiting?
Depending on the Inquisitor's race, some NPCs won't be willing to enter a romance with them...

What is race gaiting?
Locking (game) content away based on (game) race. Technically the Origins in Dragon Age: Origins were race gated content, and anything that stems from them.
To that end, yes I support race gating. Anything that lets the developers tell a better story is good in my book.
