Now of course there is some amount of variability in how we all played the warden....though ultimately only so many choices and cut scene reactions. But there is another aspect to consider; there are basically 3 potential times for the Warden to join/do a "hive mind" of sorts in DAO.
One; when the Warden becomes...a Warden. You get the taint; the whispering of a mad god and effectively a horde of rabies infected animals whose "voices" will become more present the longer you live unless you go the Avernus route anyways. Two; the Fade; you may say to yourself....what hive mind did you join in the Fade? To shape change in the Fade just like you do in non-fade Thedas you have to learn or take on new perspectives/ways of seeing the world.
Now; I suppose "hive mind" here is less accurate, "gestault mind" probably works better. Especially since I'm pretty sure everyone who gives you their strength, rage, mouse-like timidity/stealth all ends up dead. Not really a "hive", since you are the only one left. So what does this mean for the mind-set of the warden......well they basically have insane rage leaking into them from the Archdemon. The Fade has the aspects of "strength" and "rage" from others also tapped into your personality plus Wisdom and timidity.
Where am I going with this? Basically the Warden has gained a permanent understanding of the various classes/ways of seeing life. That and has gained a perspective into magic/the world that few non-mages would have. They gain a wider perspective of how people are and what it is like to be someone else, knowledge of and use of magic, plus a general tendency towards physicality and potentially fantastical amounts of rage is always kind of brimming at the surface.
The cult link up of course would only make it harder to try and figure out the mind set of the Warden.....this is someone whose knowledge of how people work and think has been broadened even further. They've been linked up to all the various cultists dead and living on some level, young, old, middle aged, male, female, big, small, every single class, skill, knowledge on blood sacrifices and how to run a grocery store......well that and extreme fanaticism and blood dragon craziness.
You might say; the cultists don't seem that deep or complex....which is true though something to think about is this. With Kolgrim you just got through slaughtering a lot of people who were friends and members of his family (Well they were probably all members of his family by that point....) and killed a butt load of drakes/drakelings that they had the level of affection for to the point of how people will call their cats and dogs their "babies". On top of all that even before you tell him; he has to know there is a high chance you are a potential threat to Andraste....remember he refers to you as "perhaps Andraste's greatest enemy can become her greatest champion" or some such thing when wanting you to desecrate the Ashes.
Point being; despite all of this and the fact that his testosterone is jacked up 300x or more by dragon's blood. His first reaction is to talk with you and try to figure out what your deal is and then offers you the possibility to become part of his family and doesn't renege on the deal once done with no indication of a grudge.
This of course only matters if you did the dragon's blood.
