The UT? extensions correspond to the different blueprints used by the game:
C = creature
D = door
P = placeable
I = item
You may also open the toolset, click on the item blueprint you want to look at: you'll get the details on the right part of the screen, at the top. For a better view, right-click and open the properties in a new window. To be able to make modifications, first copy the item into the module (otherwise the blueprint will remain read-only).
