Who would have preferred an Inquisitor with an Orlesian or Antivian accent?

Do you think we will ever have a protagonist with this accent or will we always be doomed with the posh British voice-set and its cousin, the modern American?

I would love to play as protagonist with an Antivian accent some day. Who else is with me on that?

I could live with any accent except Orlesian, but I prefer the British accent for the world of Dragon Age.

Not sure who would want to hear an Isolde-like accent for a 30+ hour long game, but sure. The more choices the better, I suppose.

"Who ees dis man, Tea-gan?"

They had her say this again in DA2 as fan service too lol.

Zevran's accent is awesome though. Is there anyone who hates it?

Gonna be honest (and I don't really mean to be rude when I say this either), but...I think the Orlesian accent (and the French accent in RL) is one of the ugliest accents there is. It drives me nuts, and makes me want to laugh at the same time.

I might use an Orlesian or Antivan accent on a second playthrough if it's available in a future game. It would have to be well done, preferably not an American VO attempting a French accent.

French accents, when spoken by actual French people, are pretty freakin' sexy. I've been to France, and no one there sounded obnoxious like Baron Arlange.

@Zatche

Gonna be kind of honest and brutally American here but that doesn't seem that different from the Orlesian accents and it still grates on my ears. I prefer German and Austrian accents though so I am probably not the best person to be giving their two cents.

on that note do any of the countries have German accents? possibly the Anderfels?

Do people not realize that Isolde accent was purposely bad to make people dislike her?

Not every orlesian sounds like that. I'd gladly have a Inquisitor that sounds like Riordan or Leliana. Instead we got another foreigner story like Hawke jumping into a country they know next to nothing about and solving all their problems.

The Inquisitor is from the Free Marches.

Being from there and not knowing anything about Ferelden or Orlais is like being from the Low Countries and not knowing anything about France or Germany.

The more options the better! Personally I enjoy the options we are currently given the most.

I love when NPCs have various accents, but I personally would like my Inquisitor to have a british or american accent.

Since we're discussion our personal opinions on accents here:

Most females with American accents sound very inelegant and boring to me. American males with their accents sound a lot better. Likewise, I think French females sound better with their accents than French males. As for English accents, I often find most of their accents to be horrible from both genders. The RP accent (aka Oxfordshire accent) is over-rated too.

But yeah, this is all hypothetical talk for a future DA game.

In a word "No" but if that had been the second voice option, after British, then I would have been okay with it!

Indeed - I don't much like the Orlesians (and their accent...:( )

greetings LAX

ps: I would have looked for ways to mute the character if he/she had that accent :(

True, Leliana had a beautiful Orlesian accent.

While I prefer a silent protagonist to a voiced protagonist, I would have liked an Antivan accent (since they are the closest Latino equivalent that Thedas has to offer).

If anything could get me to play the entire game muted, that would be it.  To be fair to the French tho (I lived in France for two years), most Orlesians in the game are to the french accent what Yosemite Sam is to a south western accent.

I would have preferred the options of Orleasian and American accents instead of the generic British one.

I have no objections to either accent but I think since DA is played in so many countries, having the PC speak English in a French/Spanish accent might be more difficult for non-native English speakers to understand, all of whom will be at varying degrees of familiarity with the language.

It would definitely be more difficult with a thick accent like the one in the video I posted. With her, the thickness of the accent went up and down. I think maybe a French person with a stronger hold on the English language, like Marion Cotillard, could keep the accent and still have enough diction for non-native English speakers (and perhaps be not as grating for those who generally don't like French accents)

The fact we have more then just one is a nice bonus, and wanting more in the future is always nice.

But I'd like the idea that we could be adult and not insult the ones were given? Also considering those accents probably make up most of the fan base @_@

I would be ok with Antivan but since Zevran's VA does the American inquisitor accent that would be too weird. You would BE Zevran >.< Orlesian? Hell to the no. With the exception of Riordan, I found every Orlesian accent annoying and that includes Leliana.
