I know much of the forums are abuzz about the romances, the companions, and the advisers... but reigning things back to focus on your Inquisitor, what will your first Inquisitor's alignment be?
Let's go old-school and use DnD's alignments:
Lawful Good - Your standard loyal Paladin who is trustworthy, reliable, protective of innocents, but may follow the laws of society (or religion) to the point of self-destruction, so long as the laws do not demand him to commit an inherent evil (like killing a child or running down unarmed civilians)
Neutral Good - The kind of gal who seeks to help out anyone in need; she takes time to understand others' points-of-view, and always tries to find a peaceful solution for any conflict
Chaotic Good - A vigilante and a champion of the oppressed; he breaks the law either because they are unjust or they aren't doing enough for the common man... never afraid to stir up trouble, and probably has the most fun of the "good" archetypes
Lawful Neutral - She's probably a guardswoman who has great faith in the society she lives in and the government that leads it; she is typically unquestioning of orders, to the point of committing unfair acts despite personal feelings about doing so
True Neutral - A survivalist and an opportunist, he's always looking out for himself and his own... while he doesn't necessarily go around breaking rules, he understands the necessity of it. He knows the world can be cruel, but at the same time it can be beautiful
Chaotic Neutral - The prankster, the lover of life, and the most confounding, her motivations are rarely clear (even to herself). She has an endless zest for laughter and passions. Called crazy and stupid by others, she's unpredictable, she's not well-liked, and she is often alone... but she is free
Lawful Evil - Your conqueror, he stands at your borders with only one thing in mind, to dominate you and your world. If not he who will conquer, then his followers, who will commit the most heinous crimes to advance their cause
Neutral Evil - A pragmatic kind of temptress who sees opportunity in everything at the cost of anything. While her main concern is herself, she is vindictive and vengeful, and takes great pleasure in seeing her enemies slowly suffer and lose control
Chaotic Evil - Finally, the evil to end all evils... he has no real allies, because they get in the way; he is lustful and greedy, but for no other purpose than to be lustful and greedy... almost anything he does is out on a whim, unplanned, and confusing, but most definitely destructive
I, myself, will start with a "Chaotic Good" Inquisitor... he will be charming and the common folk will love him because of all his good deeds, even though the leaders of the Inquisition might frown upon his non-diplomatic decisions and crazy antics.
