Not me. I tend to only do that when it's a game that I know will be lacking in copies on release. Like Tales games (Tales of Xillia for example) or other niche Japanese games that have a small but dedicated fanbase. Often times preordering is the only way you can be sure you'll even get a copy on release date for those kinds of games. Dragon Age Inquisition? That will be effortless to find copies on release day, no need for preordering there.

I don't really understand why some people have to preorder the SECOND it becomes available. It's not like you get the game any sooner if you preorder first ;)

But I trust Bioware and I always like their games (yes even DA2 an ME3 despite the endings) so I will preorder eventually. I'll just wait until it's a bit closer to release.

I haven't pre-ordered yet because of the confusion about the physical Deluxe Edition for PC in Europe. Seems like it won't be available at all, so I'll have to decide wether I want to import the physical Deluxe Edition from the US or buy the Standard Edition and maybe get the additional items later.

It's a little annoying to be honest, but I'll pre-order it eventually, no doubt about that.

I pre-ordered the Inquisitor Edition. It was the coins and the lock pick.

I want to buy the digital deluxe version, but it's so absurdly expensive in the UK on Origin. £60 for a PC game? (That's over $100)

Unfortunately, Origin seems to be the only way to get the pre-order bonuses in the UK...

Your avatar is good and you should feel good.

Also I don't plan on pre-ordering. You never know, it might turn out rubbish afterall.

Nevered preordered anything, I won't begin now. I'll probably buy it soon after release, but it just seems stupid to preorder a game before you know if it's good. This is not only for Bioware games, but every ****** game.

I pre-ordered for two reasons:

1. I want all the goodies, especially the Tarot cards.

2. On DAI release day, I will be standing outside my local game store at nine in the morning, with a coffee in one hand and a Danish in the other, waiting for them to roll up the metal blind so I can get my game NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW. I know this because it's where I was on the days DAO and DA2 were released. (Would have been the same for Awakening, only the store called me two days early and let me have my copy in advance. Possibly because I frighten them.) Given that there is no way in hell I'm waiting for reviews - in fact, I'll be avoiding those for fear of spoilers - what do I lose by pre-ordering? In fact, I gain the minutes I'd have spend paying for the game. And also a bog unicorn.

(I do think that anyone with doubts about the game would be sensible to wait, but I am not in that category.)

My only question is deluxe or standard.....£54.99 VS £39.00, are the armour, armoured horse, throne, halla, bog unicorn and soundtrack worth £16.00 extra (the weapons are a pre-order bonus with the standard edition).

In truth then the main reason to pre-order is the extra preorder stuff if you are not buying the deluxe anyway.

So: Flaming swords, some armour and a horse.

The preorder items seem pleasant enough but I imagine you will upgrade it to nicer items after a few levels anyway.

Completionists will want it, as am I, so I do.
But as I understand it these items are included in any Deluxe edition, not just pre-ordered Deluxe editions which could be ordered after the game is released and the reviews are out.

That has of course the bad ass throne, the hart, the bog unicorn, soundtrack and unspecified bonus content. Fine. Soundtrack is the bit I like most (and the unicorn)

These are nice things but compared to the overall content of the game, a minor minor thing.

Those who do not feel confident in the game to preorder, should simply not preorder.

I intend to pre-order but I have what might be a silly question.

If I preorder through Amazon, will I still get the exclusives that are being offered? Or do I need to pre-order through a more official source like Game Stop?

Amazon will say what bonus' are included.

I pre-ordered, I hope the deluxe ed will be worth the price (although I can return the game within 7 days) compared to pre-ordering the physical disc via GMG

Haven't yet decided which version to order. Deluxe Edition I can only get from Origin which is almost 70€, normal version I can get from store for less than 50€. Unless I know what the final extra stuff you get with the Deluxe is, not gonna get it. Extra mounts and few flaming weapons ain't worth extra 20€.

Heck even the normal edition in Origin is over 10€ more expensive than the normal physical edition.

Amazon (at least in the UK) is currently only offering the weapons pack with a pre-order, the deluxe edition is only available from Game

I pre-ordered the Deluxe edition for PC a month ago. I haven't paid for it yet, but can certainly say that it'll probably be my best investment this year.

It's the second time I'm doing this. First was ME3, but that didn't come out so well... Still, couldn't help it this time.

Can't wait for October!

Why would I pre-order a game that will be easy to get?  Also it it encourages crappy sales practices (although Bioware has done the right thing and not made it a character or story DLC).  Nah, I'll probably buy it day 1 but I want no part in that crap.

I think the only games I have actually(i.e you wouldn't get the game) had to pre-order were GTA:SA, Suikoden 2 and the Wii fit.

Aye, pre-ordering always guarantees a copy on release day for those of us who can't be bothered waiting. It's the reason I pre-ordered Dark Souls 2.

Not sure about Inquisition though but I probably will pre-order it as there is no other RPG coming out this fall save for Shadows of Mordor and Lords of the Fallen and that's all on the same day. I will certainly be buying the later titles but I'm a sucker for any RPG that allows me to create my own character rather than ones where you're playing as a pre-determined character so Inquisition will be the first brought.

Also, I'll need something long lasting on my PS4. Inquisition will be that and I can't see it being worst than DA2.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition from Amazon. DA2 was never a terrible game to me. It felt much shorter and less consequential than Origins, but I still really enjoyed the story and the characters from DA2. Yeah, there were definitely annoying things from DA2 that resulted from it being rushed, such as recycled environments, etc. But I don't think it's as bad as most people make it out to be. Therefore, I really had no problem with the idea of pre-ordering the next DA game. Now, if it was the new Mass Effect, that might be a different story. I'm still feeling burned from the ending of ME3, but the teams that make ME and DA are by and large separate entities. I've no problem supporting the amazing team of people that bring us our beloved Dragon Age. <3
