Yeah.

I can read fast enough to process the walls of text people leave.  I look for originality and or coherency of an idea. Or an appealing theme. In retrospect it seems rather arbitrary. Point is I read quickly. But you are right, an image will convey an idea quite well and we are heavily visual creatures.

I actually read all of them aswell. But I feel reluctant to praise those ideas I liked the most due to feeling it would be unfair not to give feedback to all of them, so I would have to write a gigantic wall of text (talking the wall of game of thrones here) if I was to adress them all. Suffice to say I enjoy reading all of the characters here because its interesting to see how different people are looking at their Inquisitors :)

Name: Ares Trevelyan

Race/Class/Specialization: Human - Warrior - Lord

Concept Background: Ares was born a bastard, his father Lord Trevelyan had a relationship with a house maid, who was of low birth and lived in poverty. She was beautiful. Lord Trevelyan had been unfaithful towards his real wife, which he never acutally loved. It was a political marriage. Lord Trevelyan's wife was a pious women, the day Ares was born she wanted him gone, she had order a guard loyal to her to kill the bastard and his mom, because she saw it as a threat. He was late though, but he still killed Ares's real mother, but he showed mercy to the baby, and gave it to Lord Trevelyan, claiming that an assiasiin killed the the house maid. Lord Trevelyan grived.Lord Trevelyan took the baby, and loved him, when he looked at him he alawys reminded him of his real love- Miranda. Though Ares was the third born son and a bastard he was always put on top. Ares had a real rough childhood, his oldest borther(Aedus) hated him, so deeply , that he had made attempts on his life from an early age.Ares was confident, some people might even say over confident, but he was also aggressive, and vengeful, but when he loved, he loved with fiercly. The younger brother(Resius) on the other hand didn't show any sings of the hate that the older brother and Lady Trevelyan shared. Lord Trevelyan hired the best swordsman in Thedas to teach Ares how to fight. He was a natural. His mentor praised him all over Thedas, saying that Ares will become the best swordsman ever. Ares loved his father and his older brother Resius firecly, but he loved one girl even more. An elf girl, who was a house maid in the castle. She was a red head, and blue like crystal eyes, much like his real mother. One day his father called him and said to him that one day the castle and everything in it will be his, and he will even permit him to marry the elf girl.He was happy, for once in his life he actually smiled. Honestly. He was ready to die for his father, elf girl- Elena and his older brother. It was all he had, his mother loathed him, and his oldest brother did agree with everything Lady Trevelyan said. One day Ares woke up, and heard screaming, he put on his armor, took his sword, and rushed towards the scream, he saw his oldest brother killing his father, trying the usurp the castle, because Lord Trevelyan had planned to leave everyhing for Ares.He also held captive his love..When Ares saw that, he got berzerk, and only said now it's your turn,he rushed so fast towards his borther, that he didn't even get chance to draw his sword. With one swing Ares removed his head and kept stabbing and smilled, Elena hugged him, but was afraid, because of that smile, he just looked at her and said, ''He had it coming''. But Lady Trevelyan set him up, she entered the throne room with the royal guards and Resius .Ares was a great swordsman, but there were too many guards ,he was able to defend him self, but Elena got shot with an arrow in the stomach. Ares was able to escape with Elena, and find a place to hide.Elena had bled too much. Her fate was sealed. Ares spend the night, but she just was too hurt, she kept crying and screaming'' Make it stop,please..''. Ares slit her throat. But he didin't cry, he just stood there and watch and said''An eye for an eye,and now I will poke out theirs''. Resius had already ordered every single guard to bring Ares's head. Ares went on a killing spree he butcherd every guard he could see,but was outmached, and out of nowhere his mentor came and saved him. He convinced Ares not throw his life away, but to get stronger and get revenge. His mentor was able to get him to become a templar. He left all his claims to his father castles and riches. He recived his training, and his mentors were quite pleased, though Ares had nothing againts mages , he did enjoy his job.But still all Ares wants is revenge.

Personality: Ares was like stareing fire. He was never scared, and was quite over confident. He wasn't the mercifull type.

He belived in the pharse and ''Eye for an eye...'' . Though he knew how to love, he is afraid to show it again. It might hurt him.

Altough aggressive and vengeful, he would do anything it takes to remove the evil from Thedas. Even if it includes sacrificing him self for the greater good. In the end in's it's not the means to achive something, it's the result it. Ares: ''Send the Maker my regards''.

Relationships with companions:

Iron Bull: They often see eye to eye with eachother. Ares feels that Iron bull should have been his real brother.

Sera: Everytime Ares looked at Sera he was reminding him self more and more of a past life, of Elena. He had a soft spot for her. And would often agree with her too much.

Cole: Though Ares was a templar, he didn''t feel any hate towards Cole, as long as he didn't do anything Anders like, all is good.

Cassandra: Cass and Ares go way back. They knew eachother as children. And Ares is always trusting in her.

Dorian: Hates him, but also finds something to respect in him.

Vivienne: Often fighting, but secretly in love(maybe)

Varric: Ares thinks he is funny , but wouldn't trust him with his back though.
Blackwall: Mutual respect.

Cullen:Like borthers.

Leliana: She feels for Ares. So much weight on his shoulders, and his familly drama.

Scribbles: Often aruging about how things should go down, but they like eachother.

Politics:  Ares is not really fond of politics. He never was. He thinks that politics are for cowards and people who spines are made out of cotton. He is also rushing towards the fight. Though sometimes he let's Scribbles do that part. Ares would never do politics willingly. A lot of convincing is in order.

Inspirations: Crixus(from Spartacus) , Jon Snow

Appearance: Not really tall, but quite well built, blue eyed, black or copper hair with hard stubble.

Name:  Elena Lavellan

Race/Class/Specialization: Elf - Rouge - Shadow

Concept Background: Elena was the name of her mother. Her father Darius, gave her that name. Her mother was pregnant when she got raped, by a group of shemlen, her mother was the keeper of the clan., and her father was the clan 's hunt master. Even though she got raped, she manage to give birth to her child, but died right after that. When this happen Darius flipped, he had decided to make Elena the ULTIIMATE shem hunter. While growing up her father was rough as he could be. He pucnhed, slaped did whatever to create the ultimate hunter, or rather huntress. At age of 14 she already had around 3 shems deaths on her hands. Clan thought that the hunt master had lost it, and wanted him to leave, and he did, but he left a trail of Dalish bodies. Elena didin't really knew how to feel about that. Ever since birth her father has alawys told her that race, family, belief is all that is important. By the time she was 17 she had murdered a lot of shems mainly bandits who had it coming, but there was one girl a pregnant one, that Elena just couldn't strike at, her father furious said that they are animals and live to be hunted, and stabbed her in belly a few times and left her for dead. One day Elena was walking alone in the forest, and she saw a shemlen, a noble warrior shem, that helped a wild animal that had gotten stuck in a trap. Elena was intrigued not only by the fact that he was helping, but he was handsome. She felt.. mixed feeling, wether to shot him with an arrow or, to go and talk to him.His name was Aedan. And even though every instinct she had said shoot him, her heart said otherwise. She left the bushes and showed herself. To her delight, the noble warrior felt same way. They started seeing eachother.Getting to know eachother, even spending nights toughter, but Darius grew relentless. He knew that something was wrong. Elena and Aedan shared quite a lot about eachother, they loved eachother. Darius eventually found out. He was furious at Elena, His rage drew him ,he hit her a few times, but she didn't fight back ,she just took the hits. But Elena still kept seeing Aedan. Her father had warned her that he will remove Aedan heart from his chest and serve it to her. Elena thought it was a bluff , that he knew he would stop sometimes to try to control her life. But one night her father found out where they are meeting, and went before Elena. Aedan was there early with his horse, from the bushses a arrow was fired right in Aedan leg.

He fell on his knees, grabbed his sword, and said that he wanted a fair death - a duel. Darius started laughing and said '' Animals don't deserve fair death''. And he slit the young noble warrior throat. By that time Elena had just arrived. She witnessed it, how Darius had just started to remove Aedan heart from his chest. Elena was shocked, angered, enraged. Darius saw her, he just smiled and kept stabbing toward the heart. Elena grabbed her bow, and shot an arrow right through her father's back. He grasped, and turned to her and said '' Now you know, what is like to lose, someone you care about, well done....But you have failed me'' ... Elena answered back ''No you monster, you failed me'''. Elena noticed the wolf pack is coming near, and she just turned away and climbed on Aedan horse. Darius scramed ''come here and finish this you ****, your mother would have hated you'' and Elena answered '' Maybe, but she would have killed you, for what you did to me'' .And she just left. The wolves fed on her father, they ripped him aprat. She returned to her clan.

Personality: Elena was calm, compassionte, and she knew how to love. But she was overconfident, and also never shows mercy to shemlen murders. She always puts the need of the her clan above all. Her past haunts, the things she did to some innocent people.

Relationships with companions:

Iron Bull: Thinks he has sufferred a lot, and alawys sympathic towards him.

Sera: Sisters with benefits, though Sera wants more, Elena keeps her heterosexuallity

Solas: Always a good laugh for shems.

Cole: She is compassionate towards.

Cassandra: Two alpha females at one place. In the begging they will argue, but they will be friends in the end.

Dorian: If he betrays her, she will slit his thorat.

Vivienne: Respect.

Varric: Trusty dwarf sidekick.

Blackwall: Loves how deddicated he is.

Cullen: He is the love of her life. When she looks at him, she sees a little of Aedan, but more aggressive like.

Scriblles: Likes her and thinks she is a nice one.

Leliana: Will always see to eye with her.

Politics: Elves first. Will always put the needs of the Dailish first, she doesn't have anythings againts most shems. Mainly she will try to be pollitical, but if things don''t go her way, she will use her methods. Altough elves are first, she will always help those in need.

I have a few in mind but for my human male Inquisitor this is what I have in mind.

Name: Nicholas Trevelyan.

Backround: Nick is the second son born to Lord and lady Trevelyan. His strict parents instilled a deep sense of duty in him from a young age and showed little in the way of traditional parental affection. His brother and and nanny however were both loving and kind towards him creating a dichotomy that would define him later in life. Being the the second son Nick was forced down the path to becoming a knight and received the best combat training and education in war Lord Trevelyan could provide. Under the scrutiny of a father who believed a man should always strive to be the best at what he does, Nick threw himself heart and soul into training. His only experience in love was when, as a late teen, he fell for a commoner girl who worked at an inn. Their relationship built slowly and ended when the girl was caught stealing from the Trevelyan estate after Nick had snuck her in. his father almost had one of her hands removed but at Nicks pleading she received only a flogging. Lord Trevelyan scolded him harshly and stressed how blinding the heart could be. Nick took this to heart and put romance behind him and his mind back into learning the art of war. Not long later he was knighted, though without any wars or battles it was a hollow title to him. Eventually Nick joined the town guard to put his abilities to better use helping and protecting the weak. Over the years he rose through the ranks but left the guard and his home after hearing of the mage revolution. (Not really sure why yet  :P)

Personality: Like his parents Nick comes off as intimidating, cold and aloof. He tends to be very stern but rarely shows any obvious anger. He does however have a very caring heart despite having so little experience with friendship and love. He projects a sense of superiority but only because he believes it is a necessary part of ruling as inquisitor.

Relationships:  Nick will have a great amount of respect for all the companions. Though some will likely get on his nerves he will put up with it due what they bring to the Inquisition. Specifically he will most likely get along famously with Blackwall and Cassandra and keep them close as confidants. Cass will probably capture Nicks heart, which will lead to deep inner turmoil over duty and love  :D. I also think him and Solas will get on well, if conflicting views on mages don't get in the way. At first Nick won't trust Cole but I expect the selfless drive to help people to win him over.

Politics: Above all else Nick believes the strong should protect the weak and safety and stability over personal freedoms. He doesn't hate mages but does believe the Circle system is best for everyone. He will fight for the rights of elves and come down hard on those who mistreat them. Nick has a grand vision for the Inquisition and sees it as a tool to do much more good then just closing the veil tear. The fade problem will be at the for front of his mind but he will not hesitate to take advantage of his position to do more than fight demons and close tears.

Inspirations: Mainly Gaius from Tales of Xillia with a little bit of Ned Stark

Appearance: A rugged weathered face (I see him as 37 by the beginning of the game), dark hair, a scar or two maybe. Dominic West in Centurion is pretty close to what I had in mind.

Name: Caterina ‘Cat’ Travelyan

Concept: A female human mage of incredible discipline and power. She was born to a Marcher nobleman who wanted many sons. But the birth of Cat, his first child, was a complicated one that left his wife barren. Despite this, Cat’s father’s resentment faded quickly and she had a very pampered childhood. She showed no magical talent until she was nearly twelve years old, very late compared to most mages. Her father tried to spirit her away, but failed. Cat gave herself up once the templars promised not to punish her parents. Taken away to the Circle, Cat’s whole world was overturned. As a mage, Cat would never have a family. She would never marry, never be allowed to raise her own children. As a child she innocently promised to give her father grandsons, something that made her father smile in an eye-rolling way. The fact that this dream was gone made Cat very sad when she came to the Circle. But soon, she discovered she was one of the oldest apprentices at her level, most of her classmates were six or seven years younger than herself. As she grew older all of her fellow mages looked to her as a leader, and the closest thing they had to a mother or older sister in the Circle. She thrived in this role. As the mage rebellion came about, Cat was incredibly conflicted, but she voted against the uprising again and again, trying to protect her young charges from the fight. Soon, however, her protests fell on deaf ears. And she was drawn into the fight she did not want, but was powerless to prevent.

Personality/relationships: Cat is calm, kind and very motherly. She guards and protects anyone she considers her friends, and she is especially protective of children. She is very proper and dignified, rarely swearing or losing her temper. But she is also more worldly than she seems. She was one of the most trusted mages in her Circle, and was the go-to mage when the Circle had to send someone outside the tower. She has been to Orlais and Ferelden before, though her exposure to culture at large was limited. As to her companions, I think she will find each of them fascinating in their own way. I expect Varric and Dorian to be her closest companions due to their gregarious nature. Cat likes talking and discussion. As to romance, I can’t see Cat going to anyone but Cullen, a man she would admire for his Templar past, as well as his commitment to living up to the spirit of his vows, not just blind loyalty to the order.

Politics: She hates conflict, though is not necessarily anti-war. She knows that sometimes a fight is inevitable, and is the only way to solve a problem. But she seeks for compromise whenever possible. She believes that there must be a way to make the Circle free from oppression, while protecting the safety of non-mages. She holds no innate dislike of any culture other than that of the Qun. As bad as the Circle can be sometimes, they do not sew their mages’ mouths shut. In addition, she disagrees with the Qun’s prohibitions on families. To Cat, it is a cold, unloving culture.

Appearance: Her hair is well-groomed, probably in a bun. She wears well-made clothing befitting the daughter of a noble as well as a mage. She likes looking elegant, but not ostentatious. I’m leaning towards red hair/green eyes, but the character creator will be the deciding factor.

Art: I don’t know if it’s cheating to put in Dragon Age Art. But try as I might, I can’t find any other art that portrays Cat any better. Aimo really is the best at Dragon Age art.

Name: Kahlimel Lavellan
Concept/Background: Kahlimel was one of the best archers and hunter his clan had to offer, taking after his mother. he was arrogant and hot-headed, treating every hunt as a competition, which annoyed most of the elders, but was also encouraging of the less skilled hunters in his clan resulting in a unofficial leadership position among his peers and the youth of the clan. Growing up he had a relationship with the clan's first, Neryen, the only person in the clan who was more hot-headed than he was and not afraid to tell him off when he got particularly unbearable and the only person able to get him flustered through her silly pranks and bright disposition. They became bondmates and had two children, a young boy named after his grandfather, Luceris and a daughter named after her mother...but their happiness was not to last. Like most of his clan Kahlimel never thought mages should be locked up, his mate was going to be keeper and he was raised not to feel that way. However one day his mate was possessed by a demon and turned into an abomination, attacking and killing many in the clan wounding Kahlimel and killing his mother and their children. Ever since then he became a different person...he was cold, stoic, untrusting, lacking in humor and most of all angry. The experience changed his opinion on magic and he found himself forming a very controversial opinion..agreeing with the shemlen practice of circles. Despite this radical attitude change, he kept both the arrogance and his leadership qualities and became fiercely protective of his hunters, scared to lose anyone else. There is one thing for sure though; if you are on his side he will fight tooth and nail for you, even if he doesn't like you.
Personality/relationships with companions: As mentioned above, he is cold, dour, pragmatic, calculating, and utterly ruthless, but at the same time protective of what he considers his, which will (eventually) extend to the inquisition and it's soldiers. His hatred of magic puts him in the ironic place of having a magical glowing hand that can save the world making him even more short tempered as he adjusts to his situation. He can't hold his liquor and the rare times hes drunk he will be much more honest and open. As for the companions (going off of what we know about them) he will get along great with cullen, Iron Bull and Cassandra, fellow pragmatists and fighters, while Sera and Dorian will most likely despise him for putting the inquisition before the people and his pro-circle stance/hatred of magic respectively. Blackwall and Varric will be interesting, as while he puts the inquisition first he isn't actively a jerk and will respect their beliefs and treat them as equals so long as he is given the same courtesy. He and VIvienne might get along well considering their goals seem to align, while solas is an unknown at the moment. The most conflicted relationships he will have will be with cole, who while potentially a demon at worst and magical at best, he will bring out his paternal instincts he had with his children, and josephine who is his opposite in personality but at the same time reminds him of the positive qualities his mate once had. He will be straight and might end up with either Cassandra or Josephine.
Politics: He firmly supports the Templars in the mage-templar war, which makes him an oddity among his clan who wish to stay out of it and let the shems kill each other. He couldn't care less which fancy shem sits on the orlesian throne, but will support his fellow elves in their campaign if given the option. He also has no problem fooling the gullible into thinking he is the herald of Andraste, while he does believe in the dalish ways and will internally wince every time he pretends to be some kind of shemlen prophet he will do it to increase his status.
Possible character arcs: Through his bonds with the snarkier and more upbeat members of the inquisition he could learn to lighten up and enjoy himself again, and being forced to have his magical hand will also help him come to terms and accept that magic can be used for good and finally put him on the path of emotional recovery. While not overtly hostile to humans his feelings towards them may change over the course of the story, whether for better or worse depends on his experience.
Inspirations: Honestly, Meredith and my pro-mage snarky hawke were my inspirations. Going into this game i decided to make the anti-hawke, stoic, ruthless, and angry, a man who couldn't cope with his losses and broke after a terrible experience, while my hawke managed to bounce back from her darkest hour because of her friends. And after i saw Merediths background on youtube (never got friendly enough with her to see it personally) i had inspiration to form one for my elf. Keeping in opposite with my hawke, he is pro-templar but a moderate not desiring the deaths of all mages but wanting them to stay in the circle.
Looks: He has tanned skin, with an outer iris color of green and an inner iris color of brown. He will have brown hair, length to be decided. He will have scars from the incident with his mate, preferably burn scars if the CC will allow it (not like the hound or anything but noticeable.)

Name: Thaliea Lavellan

Class: Mage

Race: Elf

Sex: Female

Lover: Cullen (Hopefully….  ;3… )

-For it is swoon worthy-

Specialization: Rift Mage or Necromancer (cant decide!). But besides that, she’ll ultimately be the healer of the group. (Cause I love those kinds of characters in rpgs, alla, Anders + Wynne)

(Some things I say about her are purely speculation, so bare with me if you can, pretty please.J)

Personality: Thaliea Lavellan, an outgoing, spirited young girl (or at least looks like one) that seems to always have an optimistic view on the world around her (even in its current state). Since she’s been in the clan all her life, she doesn't have that knowledge of the outside world and of the interaction with other people besides elves, hence some people might call her “ditsy” or “innocent” but she doesn't see it. When she sees all the burning corpses after the Breach exploding and whatnot, she goes through a traumatic experience mentally. She wishes to never show weakness, considering she’s now the leader of the “glue” for the practically torn world, so she hides all her sorrow behind a smile and tries not to break down (although she might let it out in emotional and heartbreaking occasions). She’ll try her best to do what is utterly right to keep the peace (nothing rash like Loghian)  between everyone. When she sees the conflict of the Mages’ and Templars’, she asks herself, “Why is it that they fight? Can’t they just make peace with one another?” so she will do whatever it takes to find compromise between  them, but if it comes to it, she will side with the Mages.

-To then put it short, she is an absolute sweetheart who’ll greet everyone with a warm smile, because she means it-

I strongly hope she’s not a Tali/Merrill clone…

But nevertheless, she is my character, and I love her (But Cullen can have her, don’t worry).

Fun fact: The name Thaliea was changed from Thalia, which means “joyful” or “to blossom”, which I picked this name because I just love it and the fact Thaliea will “blossom” in her part as the leader for the Inquisition.

Her song: "Knock Knock" by Lenka

Looks: She is a small person with long silvery (or just normal)-blonde hair and almond shaped hazel eyes.

Picture439.jpg

I am not the owner of this image. Rights to this picture go to creator who and I do not know who that is.

Sorry its anime.. but seriously, she's so darn cute! (Like how I imagine my Inquisitor.)

This is almost exact, wow. I'm so proud of myself!

Name: Faylienne Lavellan (First name means faery or pixie)

Concept/Background:  A female Dalish elf who, as a child, was a fairly indecisive creature. She constantly frustrated her parents as well as most adults in her clan due to her inability to focus on anything for long enough to become anyone's apprentice. After news of Mahariel's defeat of the archdemon reached her clan, Faylienne suddenly changed. She developed a serious case of hero worship and became determined to transform herself into a skilled rogue just like the Hero of Ferelden. She began training with both blades and a bow, quickly surpassing many of her clansmen. She learned stealth by stalking deer and other animals in the forests and valleys her clan traveled through. She began training with the trap-makers and herbalist. She pestered the craftsmen to teach her the basics of crafting and repairing weapons and armor. The keeper tried to discourage Faylienne from her dream of being a hero, which only made her more determined. Finally, after a particularly harsh lecture from the keeper, Faylienne decided to leave and pursue her dream away from the confines of the clan.

Personality: Faylienne is sarcastic and witty, with a quick one-liner always at the ready. Although still wary of humans and with a disdain for "flat-ears" engrained her from birth, she tries her best to judge anyone she meets by their actions and not at face value. being the daughter of two highly respected members of her clan, she has learned that respect comes from doing a job right and treating others with the same respect rather than simply from power or fear. She tries to what is right, but will do what is necessary for the greater good.

Relationships: Develops an easy friendship with Varric. Despite the opinion of city elves she was taught to have, she eventually falls for Sera. Although she would never admit to it, she has a high admiration for Leliana due to her friendship with the Hero of Ferelden.

Politics: Not fond of Templars or Andrastians for the most part. Tends to side with those seeking the betterment of the misused and downtrodden.

Possible Character Arcs: Mistrusts her human companions at first and acts superior as "One of the People" but eventually lightens up, deciding that she can depend on those around her (and definately needs them if she wants to succeed). She realizes she can change the opinion of her people by being the best version of herself that she can possibly be.

Looks: Delicate features, pale skin, green eyes, and dark brown hair. Face based on Clara Bow but tweaked to make her look more elven.

Name: Keitan Adaar - 32 - Qunari Warrior

Concept/Background:

Keitan's parents are a former Ben-Hassrath - A'ylee - agent and a Sten from the Antaam who fell in love while perfoming "black ops" missions on the behalf of the Triumvirate on the Southern Nations. Their most known work was a nearly successful recovery of the Tome of Koslun from orlesian posession, in which their small company was killed and they were run through and left for dead by a company of Chevaliers.

It took a couple of months before they made a full recovery and by the time they did A'ylee was pregnant. Having been disillusioned in the Qun by their failed attempt at recovering the Tome and not wanting their child to be raised in Qunari society they used the cover of their apparent deaths to run away from the Qun. Keitan's infancy was a turbulent one, his family was constantly on the move in order to avoid detection from Ben-Hassrath sleeper agents and the always hostile peasants who couldn't tell the difference from Qunari and Vasoth despite numerous attempts at reason.

Keitan was educated by his mother and trained by his father and due to the fact that they knew very little outside their roles in the Qun the trio made their living working as mercenaries, taking jobs from Orlesian and Ferelden nobles and never settling on one country/region for too long in order to avoid retaliation for the outcomes of their contracts. Their company eventually grew in size and came to shelter Joleb, a surface dwarf, Luco and Benito, twin elven Antivan rogues and Neira, a red haired nevaran apostate who became Keitan's lover.

One day, his mercenary company and his parents vanished, he returned to their camp and discovered signs of battle, but no corpses. This event nearly threw him into a depression and bugs his mind until the current day. He looked for his parents for years, keeping the usual habit of taking jobs from nobles in the hopes of finding any clue to what happened.

Recently, he went out of his way to take a job as a bodyguard in the Temple of the Sacred Ashes, seeing as how an important summit is going to be held there he hopes to make some contacts who can lead him or give him some clue to the mysterious disappearance of his friends/parents and lover...

Personality/relationships with companions: He is a somewhat a witty and gleefully sarcastic guy, and something of a womanizer. Both traits are kinda of a defense mechanism he uses to cope with the loss he suffered through years ago. He often makes mocking remarks of people who think too highly of themselves or whine too much. He is also a shameless flirt when he finds an attractive human lady and has slept around with a good number of noble woemen and noble daughters in the orlesian court. He was trained to be very observant and to be a good actor by his former spy mother and experience in being somewhat involved in The Game has refined those traits, he often dons the persona of the big clumsy oaf when dealing with certain kinds of people in order to appear dumb - which gives them the false sense of security when talking to him and leads to them revealing useful information they otherwise wouldn't as they think he is too dumb to comprehend .

His relationship with the companions:

Blackwall: He reminds him of his father, or at least how his mother described him when they were in the Qun. He shares some of his idealism and will look to him for some guidance if needed.

Cole: As an outsider trying to fit in a world he is a complete stranger he sympathizes with Cole's plight, though he will often assist Iron Bull in his quest to get the boy "some love".

Solas: He empathizes with the fact that both of them are outcasts and is interested in knowing more about the Fade due to his glowing green hand. They'll get along.

Iron Bull: They are somewhat opposites, but similar, both like to sleep around, are humorous and constantly haunted by the past. In this point they'll get along, Keitan's distaste for the Qun might be an issue though.

Varric: They'll get along fine as both of them led colorful lives and have weapons named in honour of lost lovers, probably going to be his best buddy. (again)

Sera: Little sister for him, will often be someone jokingly annoying with her, teasing her on her brashiness and impulsive behaviour.

Cassandra: He is attracted to her. She reminds him of his mother in some aspects, and he loves a woman who can kick his ass or stab his diary. And he loves women with scars.

Vivienne: Will be mocking her on a secondly basis. She represents everything he is annoyed by the orlesian nobles: the smugness and ridiculuous fashion are just too much for him not to make fun of.

Politics: He's got a good grasp at how the system works, courtesy of many years working indirectly in The Game, but zero experience in actively participating in it, he was always more of hammer than the hammer wielder but he's gotta a knack for it and may learn the ropes quickly.

Possible character arcs: Let the game decide that. But he'll look to know more about the culture that his parents left behind. I don't have much planing for him yet.

Inspirations:  Don't have anyone in mind, he kinda just came to me.

Looks:

Name: Bors Cadash - 28 - Dwarf Warrior

Concept/Background:

Bors was found lonely in the Frostback Mountains when he was only an infant. The whereabouts of his parents are unknown. But Bors was Lucky to be found by a group of traveling Avvar barbarians and they raised him as his own.

For twenty-five years, Bors was trained to be a powerfull warrior and learned the ability to forge his own weapons and beated many of his tribesmen in brawls, which was according to the Avvar logic, the way to prove himself.

He journeyed with his fellow companions across all Ferelden and raided merchants and isolated towns for survival.

But one day: around the Temple of Sacred Ashes:. Bors became a little soft and doesn't want to raid anymore from helpless victims. This angered the Avvar Chief and defeated Bors in a duel. Bors was at the mercy of the Chief. When suddenly the breach was opened, and his Avvar companions were no more.

Personality:

In the beginning, Bors was bittered and indoctrinated by his caretakers. But grew soft when he found out that he was an adopted dwarf and refused to kill an elven prisoner which was captured during a raid. He has a heart on the right spot and is not afraid to speak his mind. He is a lover for beer, mead and punching the s*** of bandits. Meanwhile, he is interested in other races' cultures. His new goal is protecting innocents and tries to forget his actions of the past.

Relationships:

Cassandra - He admires her leadership and determination. But she is sometimes a little harsh about protecting innocents.

Vivienne - Bors doesn't like Orlesians, so he will probrably make fun out of her.

Solas - Is not a big fan of magic, but he thinks that Solas ca be very usefull for information about the fate.

Varric - Bors is not a real joker, but he gladly listens to Varric's Stories and drink some beer with him.

Dorian - With all the rumors he heard from Tevinter, Bors won't trust Dorian in the beginning. But time will tell.

Cole - Spirits? Creepy.

Sera - Bors will have fun together with Sera by a drinking contest. They both share the same goal, protecting innocents.

Blackwall - Admires the Grey Wardens, but he can't bare the tought of self-sacrifice.

Iron Bull - Never saw an qunari before, so Bors is very interested in this creature.

Politics:

Because he has been in the wild for years, he has no knowledge of politics.

Appearance:

short red hair, long beard without a moustache. broad nose,

INFO DUMP, folks! We've got more info on character backgrounds. We knew this day was coming. Yay!

Here's what we know.

Dwarf Inquisitor, Warrior or Rogue

The dwarves of Thedas are known for their once-vast underground empire and guilds of merchants and warriors held in high esteem by the other races of Thedas. Not you. A cast-off "surfacer," unwelcome among the dwarves or most humans, you have scraped by as part of a criminal fraternity known as the Carta, smuggling magical ore known as lyrium. As part of the ruthless Cadash crime family, you spent your life on the streets of various Free Marcher city-states—until you were sent to the Chantry conclave as a spy and everything changed.

Elf Inquisitor, Warrior or Rogue

Enslaved long ago by humans, most elves still live as second-class citizens within human cities. Elves who reject this life are known as the Dalish: nomadic wanderers who strive to keep the ancient elven religion and traditions alive. You were raised in the wilderness to be a hunter, relied upon by the Lavellan clan for food and protection. The clan wandered the northern Free Marches and had little need to interact with humans—until the clan's Keeper sent you to the Chantry's conclave as a spy. What happened there, she said, would impact not only the Dalish but indeed all elves. She could not have known how right she was.

Elf Inquisitor, Mage

*snip*You grew up in the wilderness, a member of the Lavellan Dalish clan and apprentice to its leader and guide, the Keeper. *snip*

Qunari Inquisitor, Warrior or Rogue

Followers of the strict religious philosophy of the Qun, the Qunari appeared like a tidal wave to the north of Thedas three hundred years ago. You are Tal-Vashoth, a Qunari who has rejected the Qun and never even lived in Qunari lands. As part of the Valo-kas mercenary company, you have earned a living by your own wits and the strength of your blade, ignoring the fearful looks you receive from those around you. Most recently the company was sent to the Chantry conclave as hired swords meant to keep the peace between mages and templars—a task that has gone horribly wrong.

Qunari Inquisitor, Mage

*snip*You have earned a place within the Valo-kas mercenary company as its mage, possessing abilities that would have made you a pet slave among your own people, ignoring the fearful looks you receive from those around you. *snip*

Human Inquisitor, Warrior or Rogue

As the youngest child of the Trevelyan noble house, you grew up in the Free Marcher city of Ostwick and have enjoyed a life of privilege. With close family ties to the Chantry, and many relatives among the priesthood and the templars, you were always expected to follow a similar path in service of the Maker—regardless of how you feel about the matter personally. Willing or unwilling, you were sent to the Chantry's conclave to assist relatives who sought to make peace between the templars and mages. It didn't go well.

Human Inquisitor, Mage

Born to the Trevelyan noble family of Ostwick in the Free Marches, you were originally intended for a life of privilege—until magical abilities surfaced at a young age and you were forced into a life of confinement within Ostwick's Circle of Magi. Protected but stifled, educated but isolated, the Circle would have been your entire future had the mages not rebelled against Chantry rule. Like it or not, you had to fight for your life against templars hunting down all "free" mages. You joined the delegation of mages attending a Chantry conclave in hopes of negotiating peace with the templars. It didn't go well.

......Well, I've got a few things to change.

Best parts of all of these are:

Dalish mage is First(probably) to the Keeper

Qunari is a Tal-Vashoth, not just Vashoth. An active rebel to the Qun, not just born outside of it. And a mercenary to boot. Awesome.

Human Inquisitor is from Ostwick. Per the Wiki, it is ruled by a Teyrn, has its own Circle, and is where the Qunari landed when they invaded the Free MArches. Other than that, it's a pretty blank slate.

Worst:

Dwarf is a Carta dwarf. There goes my Warrior Caste exile story. Sigh....

Gotta disagree, Caston. That really makes the dwarves appeal to me. I mean, it's the Dwarf commoner all over again. That one was my favorite origin.

Course, it feels like we're playing the Dalish Elf origin all over again too, with the Elf Inquisitor. Still can't believe there's no City Elf. Boooooo. Glad we can play a Keeper's apprentice, though. That'll be fun.

Technically the Cadash were most likely exiled a looooong time ago

Probably. I'm sure there's a story there. But I had this whole thing with my Cadash's exiled father teaching her his old beserker techniques....all gone now. Still, I knew it was a risk when I thought it up. Anytime you venture into a headcannon of any kind, you have to be prepared to have it crushed into powder.

Still, I'm glad they are far removed from the dwarven ancestor worship in Orzzammar. Makes it a lot easier to play into the Herald of Andraste. Especially with dwarves. It's going to be a very jarring experience, entering the Fade as that race, given that you're not supposed to be able to dream.

I'm guessing that the Dalish mage was also sent by the keeper to the Chantry Conclave, right? If this is indeed so than how would the Chantry... Oh! I got it, the Dalish mage would hide his/her power.

Tried the page out (On the dragon age site) and it was truly interesting

Even my vague "umm.... female qunari rogue tomb raider?" is in jeopardy!  I could argue it's her hobby, or she only joined the mercenaries recently, but that's about it.

Yeah, I'm thinking on just starting a whole new thread. Go blank slate, as it were. Anyone want me to do that? I can even post the backgrounds, so everybody knows the ground 'rules'.
