Ser Gaider said we'll more than likely find out who the last two LI's are along with who can romance whom before the game's release. So, between now and October 6, I guess.

I'm banking on Vivienne and Varric being the last two options. If I'm wrong, I'll film myself throwing my laptop off the Seattle Space Needle. If I'm right, I'm treating myself to some popcorn and Cola 'cos reasons.

That's a tad extreme for if you're wrong isn't it?

Unless he's using that as an excuse to get a new computer.

I feel like that's probably breaking some kind of law or three.

The most I'll do if I'm heart crushingly disappointed it probably put my fist through a window again but that's about it and even that is a touch extreme (even if the last time was on accident)  Couldn't that cause a lot of damage to other things to when that computer lands? I'm probably taking the comment to seriously but ehh late at night bored and the BSN is the only site working for me at the moment so I got nothing much better to do.

It could do a lot of damage to someone when it lands.

That's what I figured it could hurt some one or do some decent property damage but I assume the poster was exaggerating at least I hope they were, if they want a broken computer just take it outside with a hammer in your backyard that way you let out your destructive urges and don't hurt anyone else in the processes. ^_^

If it hits anyone they'll probably blame Bioware for their crazed fans and file a lawsuit against the company. It'd be kind of like those people who sue McDonald's after spilling coffee on themselves and ruining the availability of hot coffee at McDonald's. What if...Bioware decided not to keep fans guessing after that to avoid a similar situation? Then we'd have lukewarm coffee and spoilered video games.

Wait are there people that really sue McDonalds for stuff like that? I want to be believe this is made up but one of my favorite shows feeds off of people doing dumb things similar to this

(though if your referring to the LIs being spoilery I really don't consider knowing that info going in to be such but thats just me:))

The lawsuit is real.  Here's an article about it: http://en.wikipedia....d's_Restaurants

The media would probably blame Bioware with a dramatic sensational story, but the person who is hit would, I should think, blame the laptop thrower?

Off topic: There is more to that McDonald's story. The women received that 640 thousand to cover her 8 day hospital stay, skin grafts, and 2 years of medical treatment, and McDonald's no longer serves coffee so hot it causes 3rd degree burns. Verdict was right in my book.

I don't think love interests are that spoilery, but then it goes on to plot details, etc. etc...

No worries, I know the story. I'm just being a brat giving into the media mocking the verdict. I think they could make it a little warmer though.

On Topic: I really hope to find out the Solas verdict soon so my heart can finally find peace whatever said verdict may be ohpleaseohpleaselettherebeSolasmance.

Off topic, but:

The Liebeck v McDonald's case is a popular reference for frivolous lawsuits, but there's a reason why Liebeck was compensated (though the case ultimately ended in a secret settlement). McDonald's was serving its coffee at 180+ degrees, per their own policy. At that temperature, it is unsafe for consumption and can inflict third degree burns, which Liebeck suffered after it spilled. She was hospitalized and had to get skin grafts as a result. So, unless the ability to put yourself or someone else in the hospital with piping hot coffee was something you really wanted from a cup of McD's joe, nothing was ruined. :P

Damn yeah if the coffee gave me so bad of burns that I had to go to the hospital over I'd probably sue to. I thought this was going to be on level of stupidity of a guy calling the cops over a hooker not looking like how she was advertised, or a man going into family court dressed as Hitler over custody of his kid.

There's a theory being thrown around that since we already have 2 warriors (Cass & IB), 1 mage (Dorian) & 1 rogue (Sera), chances are the final 2 LIs are mage & rogue, namely Vivienne/Solas and Varric, though I am leaning towards Vivi since it seems very unbalanced with the number of males on the table right now (even though I admit I want to rub Solas's bald head).

Additionally, one of the devs at the GaymerX "Building Better Romances" panel said that there's "3 straight options, a couple of bi options and a couple of gay options".

It seems to me there's a pretty decent chance that Vivi is the bi option and Varric is the straight one.

I don't expect everyone to support this theory but it's a theory I have strong faith in.

If she'd successfully drank it she might have been even worse off, because of the severe damage it would do to the inside of her throat. And they knew the temperatures were unsafe because people who worked there were filing complaints due to being injured in many accidents with the coffee.

They didn't say that, they said that they want variety and IF there are "3 straight options, a couple of bi options and a couple of gay options" they need to be all over the map.

The "three straight" line came from a total hypothetical situation. I don't believe it means anything. Three straight, a couple bi and a couple gay is only 7 options. They were just pulling out random numbers to explain a hypothetical. It was never meant to be taken as information about Inquisition.

The idea that they're balancing classes is basically like the theory that every writer has one romance, so the last ones will probably be Vivienne/Blackwall. It's not something they've ever worried about before and there's no real reason to assume they will this time.

Going to toss in my two cents here but I think spreading the LIs to be even among classes is probably the last thing they thought about, I think they'd take even LIs for race into consideration before they would make sure they had an even number of LIs that were rogues mages and warriors (and considering their pretty ehhh about the race evenness thats pretty low :P) Only thing I think they really care about the even spread of the LIs is giving them set sexualities, and really the only way to keep it balanced with 8 is to make the last two Bisexual. (In my opinion of course)

Balanced romance options...hmmm.... let's see. This assuming that straights and gays are not against bi's or anything

4 straight (2 women, 2 men)

2 bi (1 woman, 1 man)

2 gay (1 woman, 1 man)

Would give:

Straight men: 3 options

Straight: women: 3 options

Bi men: 5 options

Bi women: 5 options

Gay men: 2 options

Gay women: 2 options

Hmm. Not all that balanced but then again bi's will naturally have more options.

Me personally as a straight man would be fine with this. I'm curious as to what gays think about this.

I would be extremely disappointed in Bioware if they turned down continuing the DA2 system, where everyone got equal options in the vanilla game, for one where one demographic got extra options. If the last two options were straight, I would not be pleased, no.

However, I strongly doubt this is the case. What Bioware has said is that everyone will get options and that equality between genders/sexualities is their first priority. Gaider said at a recent con that they used the chart to make sure everyone had at least 2 options, even by race. Everyone was always planned to have two options, but some may get more depending on the gates. With three originally planned race gated characters, and knowing Iron Bull was gated, we can be pretty sure that there needs to be another bisexual male, at least. See;

Dorian - available to every male

Cullen - available to every female

Iron Bull - not available to dwarves

This scenario meant that straight women and gay men wouldn't have 2 options for dwarves (for example, or whatever race(s) IB was meant to be gated from). IB was planned gated until very recently, so it doesn't make much sense that the others wouldn't have been planned around that. They said the chart was used to make sure everyone got 2 options. The example he used was even, "we can't do that, it would screw over gay male dwarves". By elimination of what they've said their process is, I think it's extremely unlikely that the last male is straight.

We know that Josephine is not gated and never seemed to be planned gated, so there still remains a chance that either Vivienne will be straight or she will not be an LI. However, since they've said their priority is with equality of gender/sexuality, I believe the options will end up as 2/4/2. I think Vivienne and one male out of the remaining will be available as bisexual options.

No worries. I thought it was worth the slight derail, because it's such a common misconception. I heard it a lot growing up. I didn't hear the full story until I had to take a Law class in college.

Oh...um...romances. My guess is Viv and Solas. But they'll announce it when they announce it. Marketing probably wants us all to keep speculating so that the excitement level remains high.

While I'm personally fine with Iron Bull and Dorian, I'm not too hot with the idea of an Origins repeat where the player-character gets the fewest options if they're roleplaying as a homosexual. Then again, there's race-gating to be involved in all this, and I doubt it'll fall on Cassandra, Dorian, Cullen, and Sera since they're already barred by gender. And Iron Bull and Josephine are pretty much free, so... this leaves the last two LIs.

Yeah, I didn't take race gating into account. But I have confidence that the devs will make a good decision. Either way, there'll alwyas be people who are a bit disappointed. Like me when Sera was announced to be unavailable to men, but I got over it.
