Will there be as much humor in this as DA2?

Because Witty Hawke is the most fun playthrough I've ever done in a Bioware game, the stuff he/she says is hilarious as well is the responses of those in the receiving end.

It would be a shame if the Inquisitor doesn't have the option of being ridiculously witty if you want him/her to be.

You serious?  Every “Funny option” response made me want to carve Hawkes face in with a book of after dinner speeches.

I'm sure there will be some humor, Varric is probably still snarky. But the world is getting destroyed so I don't think the humor will be on the DA2 level.

i hope so, but only in the appropriate situations, not every single thing being a snarky comment would just annoy me

I really hope the the Inquisitor has the option to be as inappropriately snarky as Hawke could be. (I think "at least things can't get worse. Well, today, anyway. It's pretty late" may be my favourite line in the whole game.) I already know I want my dwarfquisitor to react to the chaos by taking refuge in gallows humour.

I hope so! Witty Hawke is the main reason I keep on doing playthroughs, I love him! And Varric and Isabela's responses to him are just awesome

What's wrong with a bit of humor as a defence against the harsh reality they're living? Witty Hawke FTW, he's just perfect :D

Laugh a little, Witty Hawke is amazing. Such as when Hawke facepalms over the "He's a good guy, a demon made him do it" thing.

Aveline's response to that is hilarious after you exit the Chantry.

Well, some characters like Aveline did call you out if you chose Witty option at a bad time.

Sarcastic Hawke seemed smug and obnoxious the first few times I used the option, so I stopped using him at all. I am looking forward to Sera and Iron Bull's shenanigans, however.

Did it really? Or did you just hear that from somewhere?

Not that I didn't enjoy part of Humerous personality buty eah personally I wasn't really a fan of how far DA 2 went with the humor. I hope DAI doesn't go as far overboard. Plus it would weird if the Inquisitor just so happened to have the exact same troll sense of humor as The Champion of Kirkwall.

I always thought telling the Viscount that his day couldn't get any worse should have resulted in a non standard game over because Dumar spontaneously orders Hawke's execution.

I like finding humorous things while exploring like for instance in Mark of the Assassin you find a skeleton with a wheel of cheese on him and it reminded me of a joke about a man running down a hill yelling Not your cheese but sounding like Nacho cheese.

I like the humorous moments and objects you find in reference to jokes or books and even movies, like the Ma Pa moment in DA:O and getting Starmetal from the crater.

I'm really optimistic in this.  The clip with IB and Sera shows it's still on their minds, as well as Varric's "raining demons."  There's going to be cool banter and the PC can maybe get a punchline or 2 sometimes too.

Some of the funny options are going to be going over like a lead balloon, just like they should.  I really hope the inquisitor I eventually play who can never take anything seriously gets some really unique responses too.  I could understand it if Aveline hauled off and smacked a Hawke who told the Viscount to look on the bright side.  But that particular inquisitor is well down the list of ones I want to play.  I'm just looking forward to the general background enlightenment for now.

Yes, please yes! Sarcastic Hawke was awesome, especially since the other two options were a sycophant and an a**hole.

Well, the murder knife is back, so clearly there will be at least some humor in the game.

But will we get to shank as many people (and party members) as in DA2? You'll have to play the game and find out*!

*Considering that you could end the game zero exactly one companion, I'd say yes.

I hope there's the option for humor and sarcasm, but I hope it's done better and more appropriate than in DA2. Some parts it was funny and cool, but other parts it was retarded. Telling the Viscount "well at least the day can't get any worse" when he's holding the body of his murdered son ruins the whole scene and makes you wonder if Hawke has some kind of personality disorder.

Witty/Sarcastic Hawke was my favourite choices though I will say that the other choices were either too Passive/submissive or too harsh/judgmental.

But again Humour is a very subjective thing so not everyone will enjoy the same style or prose.

It's still BioWare writing DAI. So far I have yet to play a BioWare game that didn't come with it's own load of humoristic gems.

I always get confused when people hate on Hawke personas especially the Sarcastic one when they seem to forget the most important thing

CHOICE!

Thats what matters, if you chose every sarcastic option for Hawke then thats what you got. This wasn't auto-dialogue or forced but a conscious choice by the player to be sarcastic at those situations no matter how sad or dark.

Some will argue that because they decided to play a Sarcastic Hawke they couldn't pick any other option to which I'll always respond, "Exactly who held a gun to your head said you couldn't?"

That was right up there with

"Then there is no chance of finding her alive...or any of the others..."

"Well, if they're not dead...watch out for boneless women flopping around."

Pretty much this. The way Hawk's stock responses changes based on how you chose to react to previous dialog options was easily my favorite part of DA2. I really LIKED the idea of being able to develop a personality.

I absolutely loved sarcastic Hawke. I hope we get some similar choices in this game. It surely wont be the only choice. If others don't like it, pick another personality path. It's all about choice, right?

Yeeess more snark.

I do want to be absurdly inappropriate. That's how my non stoic/blood lust characters deal with stress :P

From what it seems like to me, the whole hating on the sarcasm thing from Hawke stems from the genders. I see a lot of people that play exclusively male Hawke hating on the middle tone, while those playing femHawke really dig it.

It'll be interesting to see how this is handled through the multiple voice actresses.
