I remember the Baroness who successfully moved the entire village of Blackmarsh and everyone in into the Fade via blood magic. What if the Ancient Magisters did this to Arlathan by accident. According to the lore they 'sank' the city. Could it have been transported by accident in their ritual. It would explain why the city was already black according to Corypheus, the amount of blood needed to perform the ritual could have polluted the city. When is the first recorded sighting of the city. Was it around during the old elven empire? Just a theory,but I wonder.
