now in asunder that is cole. childlike, scared, has no memory of his past until the end where he finds out he is a spirit/demon who visited the real dying cole locked in the dungeon . and when he goes to kill Lambert he is fully aware of who he is and acts no longer scared or childlike .
so the cole we get in inquisition is back to the original childlike scared cole ???

"He is no longer the scared young man who couldn't stand against Seeker Lambert..."
*was on my way out when I threw this link up, so I'll add my own thoughts*
It sounds to me like Cole has gained more self awareness since Asunder. And from his combat description, he seems to have developed battle confidence (is that a thing?).
He sounds very empathetic, as well, and helping people may offer him a sense of purpose in the human world.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Cole's character has developed and I'm really intrigued by what insight Solas may be able to provide him.

Hey may be naive and childlike in a sense that he still doesn't have a entirely full grasp on basic human interaction. But he's not scared anymore. He knows what he is now and how to use his powers.

Just because he knows what he is and is no longer scared doesn't mean he understands human emotions, or the nuances of relationships, to the extent that he could give consent.
I'm not meaning the question as a relationship stand point just a general one .
I like the fact certain people can not be romanced and some are gay/straight . not everyone wants to date you

so I just finished asunder and I'm not understanding how cole will be represented in inquisition . we have been told he is a young man but the mind of a child so he can't be romanced (fair enough)

Yeah like others allready said, we do get the new cole, otherwise he wouldn't be much of a fighter.
The comment that he has too much of a childlike mindset to be romanced is just focused on actual romance.
He's not scared anymore, but he's hasn't grown up socially.
I think that may be some of his character arc in inquisition. That we get him to come more and more out of his shell. Maybe his personal quest will be to find Rhys, who knows.

He knows what he is,
so from a practical point of view he will be able to be a confident rogue fighter for your party with unique talents.
I'm sure there will be interesting personality and story aspects to explore.

What I said previously is that Cole is effectively a child -- not that he has the mind of a child.
And that was specifically in the context of being asked about romancing him. Cole is not socially developed enough to comfortably give consent, at least not in the way that we picture it. Others may imagine otherwise, and that's fine, but we're not going to write that story.
That does not apply to anything else, or imply that he is childlike in general. Be careful when you read interpretations about him, and don't mistake them to be things that we've actually said regarding his appearance in DAI.

ok that's cool I understand . I have no issue in not romancing him I understand why not and agree . cole is one of my favorite characters after reading asunder. so I'm glad I mistook the romance reply as a general overlook for him.
( lol I feel like I just got told off by the principle )
