This is not a spoiler because I truly have no idea.

But would it be troubling to you to find that the warden and champion were attending the events suggested to happen at the start of DAI and have ended up as 3-400 lbs of meat loaf?

It would be a convenient way of not requiring the character creator...

How important is it that a prior game protagonist lives even if they are not present?

I would have gone for "human jerky" or "microwaved".

Unless there's an elf mage wearing a dwarven helmet, you can't convince me that my Warden was present. :P

As for my Hawke, I'd like him to live if only for friendlymanced Merrill's sake, but other than that, little to no opinion.

I would be fine with it, the warden is hopelessly tainted and my canon Hawke is a fugitive so they're already screwed one way or another. Besides, they are Bioware's characters, they can do what they want with them. :P

Nope if i wanted warden dead i would just do US and pretty much they disappeared which is stated by peoples that started conference not mention that wouldn't even have sense to some wardens or hawke be there,

I don't want them in game but also don't want them be dead just leave them alone like most rpg protagonist after their stories in game are finished.

I don't believe that either of them would disappear only to reappear for the peace conference, only to die afterwards.

No i wouldn't be a fan of having them go to conference and die.

I would be fine with them dying but having them both die together at the very start of the game just seems like a really cheap(and lame) solution. Hawke might be worthy of that lame ass death but I'd say the warden deserves a little bit of badassery.

People would probably raid BioWares Headquarters and butcher them all, if they found out the Warden and Hawke died without being seen...

Think of the Mayhem.

no, they shouldn't die. One thing I don't like in many Bioware games is, that the companions seem to be more important than the pc's. And if the former pc's die I feel even more unimportant. I don't like that feeling.

Besides, didn't they say that warden and Hawke will play some part of the events in DAI, or something along those lines.

Dying is a part!

I was going to add "dying isn't a part", but left that out.

The Warden would survive it.

Heck, Shield Wardens could probably tank it.

I don't mind if the characters get killed off eventually, but to go through the effort of stating that they have disappeared only for them to be instantly killed at the start of the game, would be a wasted opportunity for a very interesting story arc, and worse than that, it would be a horrendously boring way to kill them of.

That would be a bit of a plot twist, to say the least.
