This is a petty thread, don't take it too seriously.

Can't figure what the Inquisitor is saying during the battle dialogues in this fight lol. I can't even figure out if that's the British or American VA, I think it's British?

I think the first thing he says is "Sera's out"? Considering that was right after she got blasted by the Dragon.

The next thing he says is completely unrecognizable to me, the list goes like this

Inquisitor: Sera's out

Vivienne: -grunts-

Sera: They know we're here

Iron Bull: Could use a hand!

Inquisitor: "??????"

Iron Bull: Vivienne!

Inquisitor: Sera! (or he could just be grunting lol)

Anyone know what he's saying?

"Wok with a wok" is about as close as I can figure. There's too much background noise to tell.

Meh, we're able to figure out what everyone else is saying despite the background noise.

Sounds like "One with the Rock" to me, probably a skill shout out.

Inquisitor: Sera's out! (I think)

Sera: Hurting over here!

Bull: Could use a hand!

Inquistior: ___ ___ ___ rock? ("Watch for the rock"? I have no idea.)

It likely is skill shout out's that I am going to say you will likely in that case, be better able to understand it when playing it yourself. (because you'll know the skill's names when you hear it shouted out you'll know it.)

We've never had our characters shout out skill names before, that's some pokemon type sh*t!

Exactly what I was thinking. It'd be rather strange for them to add skill shouts now, 3 games into the series.

The skill is not necessarily called that. But I agree, most likely it's audio feedback to know what different characters are doing. They do this in Mass Effect and it's very immersive, methinks.

Cool video... this game looks like it's going to be great.  Anyway, I thought I heard "Walk on the rock...?" or... something about rocks?  I don't know, but it's kind of a bizarre thing to shout if that was it...  Isn't the American VA a higher pitched voice though?

The voice actor's normal voice is higher pitched I guess, but he might always bring it down a notch or two for the game...

I think this one sounds British...ie? :P

Maybe the rock can't catch fire, so if you stand on it while fighting dragons you don't get burn damage.

i have no idea. i have literally no idea. bioware please. how am i supposed to procrastinate without any new information?

I don't think that's quite true. It's probably in the same style as the companions in DA2, they had lots of battle cries and shouts related to some of their skills, particularly the mages

  • Fire and ice, obey me!
  • Suck on a fireball!
  • Destructive forces of nature! Coming up!
  • My magic will destroy you!
  • A thrust, now a parry.
  • You go through me before anyone else! (I presume this is a Taunt)
  • The marked one has fallen! (also presumably when a foe with Mark of Death or the like has been felled)

So I don't think it's that strange *shrugs* Seems to me like it's just more of what was going on in DA2, in terms of combat battle, although perhaps a little more dynamic/specific with regards to your actions/skill choices.

It's not always super accurate or relevant to their actions. Anders will say "suck on a fireball" even if he's doing an ice spell.

Is that even the Inquisitor saying that? I thought the one in this demo was a female Inquisitor, judging by her battle grunts when she's attacking the dragon.

Pretty sure the rock thing was Iron Bull.

If that's the case, maybe it's something in Qunlat

It seems the most helpful words would be: Options->Gameplay->Subtitles:On

Well, it's def not the qunari mage femquisitor that was in the main demo. The helmet and pointy weapons gave it away ^__~

Also, the voice sounds like a different guy than Iron Bull to me, and the other two are women. Just my opinion, though, definitely not sure. Need:

Could be so off, but it sounds more like "...on the right" than anything about a rock to me. Color me baffled =P

Uh ... I actually think that the Iron Bull is the one who shouts "Sera's out!" and "One with the rock!" (The latter line probably occurs because he drank a Rock Armour potion.)

The clearly female Inquisitor voiced by Alix Wilton Regan just grunts a lot.
