Seeing as the deep roads are in DA:I I think it's very likely we'll encounter darkspawn, however I don't think they'll play a major role. I am quite intrested to see how they have developed the darlkspawn this time. Personally I'm hoping for the more mutated, disease ridden look of them in the first game than the rather dull, pale look of them in DA2.
By the way, why have you put this in the DA:O section if this is about darkspawn in DA:I?

I meant as a party member, not as a whole.
As a party member for DAI no chance, especially since we already know all party members. For later games, perhaps.
Oops, is there a way to move it?

I believe the will also be encountered throughout the Western Approach, the desert section from the PAX Prime demo, if Asunder is a good example
On their looks, I actually preferred their Legacy DLC look. The genlocks looked downright vicious rather than gremlins from Origins. The Alpha versions of the Genlocks and Hurlocks were great as well, Shield Walls and War Hammer...beastly
They felt to much like generic orcs in Origins but Legacy did something cool with them, Oddly enough, I dkubt we'll meet any Disciples(Talking Darkspawn)

I meant as a party member, not as a whole. The fact that they probably won't play as large a role actually gives a little wiggle room to for the devs to expand upon the "awakened" darkspawn. I am ever hopeful!
As a party member in DA:I: No, we've already seen all the companions and none of them seem to be darkspawn in disguise.
Fo future games it's cetainly a possibility but many players might not want to have a darkspawn companion, the oppurtunity to have one might hinge on your choice in awakening and there is just the minor issue of getting the tain due to being around a darkspawn for a prolonged time. Despite this I would quite like to see one as a companion (as long as bioware can come up with a reason for why we wouldnt get the taint from being around them) because it would be very interesting to see their percpective as well as possibly leading to peace between darkspawn and the other races of thedas.

Well, I believe there is hope for a DLC character.
I'm afraid not, a dev said there would be no companion DLC's (Which I'm personally quite pleased about).

Darkspawn involvement usually means there is a blight. An I don't want another "Awakening" again especially in DAI. I'm anxious to do some demon slaying than same o same o darkspawn killing.

Actually, darkspawn are always active in Thedas, just mostly underground in the Deep Roads. They dig until they find an old god soul, and once it is released it finds a suitable host and becomes the Archdemon.

The old god becomes tainted by the touch of the darkspawn, they don't actually find a host to become this giant evil dragon.
Also as seen in awakening, if you let the darkspawn live who brings a message to you at amaranthine, the epilogue states that while he does help save a few people from bandits, the people he comes into contact with become tainted. so its never really a great idea to "mingle" with darkspawn no matter their intentions.

All of the comrades from DA:O get covered in darkspawn blood constantly, and none of them get tainted.
I don't know about you guys, but if I was transported into DAO and became a companion of the Warden, I would be completely covered in armor from head to toe whenever I fought Darkspawn. I mean, a face mask and everything with my mouth clamped shut to avoid swallowing flying Darkspawn blood. The fact that none of the Warden's companions become tainted is a miracle. With all of the war cries and shouting they do while fighting, they've probably swallowed at least a gallon of Darkspawn blood by the time the Archdemon is defeated. Screw war cries. They need to keep their mouths shut.

They'll do it eventually, though I doubt it'll be in DAI.

Hahaha, I just imagine all of the crew running around with infection prevention masks and lab coats, killing darkspawn left and right.
Lol! What an image. Someone with artistic talents should draw that (not me, as even my stick figures suck.). ![]()

I only hope that the darkspawn in DA:I are vicious and tough to kill...
