They did, it's just a personal feeling that Anders is Pan over Bi. He has a line that basically has him saying as much, though he doesn't throw it FemHawke's direction, which always makes me sad. I can edit my post to reflect WoG tho if it's going to be an issue.

and NOW I'm taking my random sword sticking out of the Hanged Man's floor, and going to bed :P

Okay lets make the trade quickly before I'm torn apart by some of the Cullenites

I am a Cullenite; I can protect you from the others  :bandit: They are wild, beautiful creatures, but if you make no sudden moves you can escape with your life.

Alright I'll trust you but if this fails I'll come back from the fade to haunt you. :P

Screw it, I'd like to know.

What *do* you do, exactly, if a homosexual tries to "chat you up" IRL?

I know you weren't asking me, but thinking on it I'd...

Probably not even realize they were homosexual to begin with. My thought processes on being 'chatted up' just means 'regular social interaction.' The line for me is actually making a grab for me, which I don't think very many people would do. My roomie is very texture specific when it comes to what makes em excited, so he might, but for the fact he's happily married and no interested in guys. So I guess... if I guy were to grab me in my... tender areas... is when I'd say, "Whoa there sugar, buy me dinner first!"

And promptly state, "Not attracted to men, yo. Wanna get some pizza?"

Or some facsimile thereof.

Hmm. Are you equally incapable of detecting heterosexual flirtation? That could be inconvenient. You might have to wait a long time for someone to make a grab for you if the local dating culture works like it does here.

Well, that sucks.   Him and FemHawke went so well together.

There is barely any difference between female and male Hawke in his romance.

I think this is worth the repost.  I've seen Lax's posts before, so I'm not going to come down on him too harshly.

I'm a pansexual woman, but I've never been interested in a m/m relationship.  Not that I had anything against it, it wasn't just a roleplaying avenue that I was interested in.  Then Dorian came along and changed my mind in a hurry.  He's fantastic.  I'm not rolling up a guy just to romance him though.  I mean, that's a big part of it, but Dorian made me interested in roleplaying a gay man.  That's very cool.    :)

Glad I'm not the only one who Dorian encouraged to role play a gay male Inquisitor   :). When they announced that Cass was straight, I knew that I'd have to role at least one male Inquisitor to romance her but then they announced Dorian and I was  like "well aren't you are your mustache, awesome'

I've never role played a gay man before since I normally stick to female characters unless I want to romance one of the straight ladies so it'll be an interesting and new experience for me.

I can't wait!

You're preaching to the choir there, as I've always held the view that being available to both Hawkes was objective "evidence" of both Fenris and Merrill being bisexual characters.

It's a bit sad, really. When Dragon Age 2 was released I loved the way both Fenris and Merrill were handled (finally, bisexual characters who weren't promiscuous!) But after reading people insisting that they weren't bisexual on the forums over and over and over again I became so angry, until eventually I just snapped and came to loathe how their sexuality was done entirely.

I can't see an approach that led to so many arguments that they were not bisexual at all to be a positive one. If a character is vague enough that such a large number of people can't bring themselves to "see" it then what's the point at all?

Ugh, i feel same way, really p*sses me off that so many people won't accept a character as "truly bisexual" unless their promiscuous :?

I always love the argument by including more content for LGBT players that automatically translates to losing content for straight players. That might not be the case and I wish people would realise that.

I find the OP's ideas about what feminism and equality is, to be polite, misinformed.

In regard to Cullen and options for Straight female players (or those RPing straight female characters as I prefer it referenced) maybe the NPC romance with him will be awesome?

Hey,

how is it misinformed, if a lot of famous (well known and loud) feminists say stuff like "bring the male population down by having male babies aborted?" or "killing a men (if you are a woman) should not be a crime" and such stuff? (yes, those are extremists, but as far as I know, people who want equality are not this extreme - and wanting true equlality (no taking all the goodies and not accepting the resposibilities) is wrong (like wanting lower standarts for women say in the military - that's not equality, that's gender bias (against men!) or propagating that gender-wage-gap-crap (comparing all women to all men - it's wrong, as many women work part-time, less hours, less dirty and dangerous jobs and less women are managers, doctors, physicists, mathematicians etc. so of course, on the whole all of women earn less, but if you compare a female IT-Specialist with a male (both working equal hours, same job, same company etc.) than they earn equal pay (unless one of them did better on his/her job interview, maybe...and those differences are not that high, as no one pays unreasonably more, they choose another candidate then), if not, you can drag that through the courts and the one earning less will probably win such a case, too!)...I hate all of it! Men putting women down have my contempt as do women who put men down...I just dislike politicians (like a german equal opportunity commissioner (who was female, too) being sacked for standing up for men (and women of course), too!) who often think women still need more support than men, when it is in fact (statistics for the US and Europe show that) boys and men, who are currently the losers in education (more women than men earn degrees, they have better grades etc.), while the system still is more considerate of the needs of women (men learn by doing normally, while women learn by sitting, listening and learning the stuff by heart)...but why I am going on, look at the statistics (sure you people from the US have government sites that offer them, like we in Germany have)

For me the only difference between women and men are looks (boobs and no boobs for example) and the plumbing - in all other aspects they are the same for me (and the same work can be demanded of them IMHO - health issues and pregnancies are an exception) and I treat them equally good or bad (depending on my day and what they want from me)

What's so missguided about that?

I would say making a distinction is more missguided (unless you are a doctor, because each gender has health issues the other does not have of course) and it's what got us into this mess of unequality in the first place!

greetings LAX

ps: Sorry, had to comment on that (hate bias and that comment was biased IMHO)

Sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge, yes. The night my ex and I fell asleep at the campfire waiting for the other one to make the first move comes to mind.  As does a Lothario my dad told me about once.  He had more "dates" than anyone he'd ever met, and the reason was that he asked everyone.  He got turned down 9 times out of 10 and would have cried himself to sleep about it if he had the time.

Lax, you appear to be operating on a lot of myths and misconceptions, but for the sake of the thread, I'd suggest we all leave off it. If you're sincerely interested in having this discussion, feel free to PM me.

What's so missguided about that?

- Extreme quotes you haven't cited, from people you haven't named have no impact on other arguments.

- Women don't need lower standards for joining the military, they've been fighting for the whole of human history. Yet several countries still won't let them serve as combatants.

- Women get lower pay because they're under-represented in a lot of fields of employment, like, you know, game design.

Well, in my opinion this is a 'role playing game'...
Why should we limit ourselves to real life preferences, so given BioWare's fine writing I have (so far) six romance stories to look forward to (besides the killing demons and sh**)

My own player preferences shape which romances I think are most cool,

but I'm planning at least 6 playthroughs, with six romances probably in this order:

love.jpg

Infinite variety, what's not to like.

Note: I do not wish to appear Dwarfist, if there is no Varric: lady dwarf romance I will romance Cullen as a Cadash (assuming he has got over his mage fetish).

I'm getting really sick of all the bisexual erasure that goes on in the fandom re: Dragon Age II. They've been confirmed not to be playersexual, so please stop perpetuating that myth. Celebrating diversity in DAI doesn't have to come at the expense of bisexual people.

I advocate playersexuality (I prefer term herosexual, actually) as a way to enjoy the game for people who found the all bisexual approach offputting.

I'm a big fan of herosexual companions. But I don't see how it's a myth - I'm not saying it needs to be true in your game. If you want them all to be bi, they can all be bi.

The authors' intent doesn't matter. David can object to the idea of herosexuality all he wants, but that doesn't stop it from being a valid playstyle.
