Technically we see 8 drell(including Irikah in recent comics and the Drell Adept, Vanguard and Infiltrator). Barring that, all but one look like Thane.

Kolyat's face is slightly different but at the same time, they all wear the same trenchcoat, just different colored skin and clothes. Can't say that salarians and turians are a copout either since they wear different clothes.

Thing is, it was to save development time to just re-skin Thane and call it by a different name. Now that the next ME's on the way, they have a chance to differentiate drell more instead of them all having the same face(sans Irikah and Kolyat) and clothes. Also if you go by the number of drell that are in the galaxy that you could potentially see, there are at least 375,000 drell. Add in a few hundred years since that event on Rakhana and the number has increased since then. Most live on Kahje with their saviors, the hanar. Not all live there though, so chances are you'd at least see a few drell in the backgrounds on hub worlds like Illium and the Citadel.

Developers' oversight said otherwise.

I agree. I absolutly love Thanes clothes. But it felt less special when all the drell wore the same. *Sight*

It is indeed wierd that there where no drell hanging around in other worlds. And considering Thane is an assassins, and drell are so rare, thats a huge disagvantage. (everyone will remember him). Kolyat had different facial features.

the most convenient way would be to get it online, voila
http://www.darkhorse...-Foundation-12

IMO the way the artist colors and inks these aliens makes alot of em ugly, even Thane looks real janky in some of these panels.

Thank you!

I agree the drawings are ugly. But I find many of "that kind of drawing" ugly. Its probably a matter of taste. :)

I doubt the drell numbers have increased significantly since see one outside Kahje is still pretty rare and its understandable why we see so few of them throughout the series, though I agree that the drell do need more unique models.

Well i'd hope if any serious thought is going into, that its a female Drell, For a different perspective on the race, Also because a female Drell has yet to appear.

And because people want to romance them.

What i hate about the drell is that they are basically Thane turned into a race.
The 4 drell i have seen in the games/comics are all at least shady, on top that the multiplayer-drell are fast like thane.

Every race in mass effect has for example soldiers, engineers, scientists, merchants and artists, except the drell they are All-Thane.
If they put anymore Drell into ME-Games they have to de-thane-ize the race in the process, those Drell whould have to be different!

Multiplayer drells look like Thane, but within the campaign Kolyat and Feron had differences in the facial structure. Kolyat had a longer face and thicker bottom lip, different markings etc.Feron's is slightly different, smaller eyes. It's just sucks that they wear the same thing but in different colors with the exception of Thane's boob window

If Bioware decides to include female Drell in ME4 I hope they don't over sexualize the design and they keep the design modest, it wouldn't make sense anyways.

But I would love to see more drell, they are an intresting race and Kolyat was one of my favorite NPC's .. I even romanced Thane to find out more about the Drell species.

Cmon, it's Bioware.

Of course they will cause they know what the fans want to see: camel toes, glowing nipples, super tight latex suite and boobs as big as the engine can handle.

Can't say I wouldn't be really ticked off if this pattern continues.

You can have incredibly sexy characters without this blatant stuff.

An occasional large boob size is fine though :)

I hope that isn't the case, I know a lot of people that want female Drell to have no breasts. Although, Iriakah does look good in the comic, the "hair" is a bit strange. and she's wearing the Thanecoat but in red.

This was more of what I'm expecting.

Credit goes the Artist who drew this beautiful work :)

I definitely thought they were underused, especially in Mass Effect 3 and they are probably the race I'm most interested in. Female Drell would be great to see, especially as a squadmate. It would be good to learn more about the Hanar as well as the Drell, I would love to go to Kahje in Mass Effect 4.

I thought they were fairly modest with the female turian designs. Although alot of people were upset when they noticed there is a hint of boobage on Nyreen.

obviously its not cause of over-sexualization but the convenience of female turians having secondary sex characteristics that are appealing to humans (in addition to how this model contradicts in-game canon 1. Garrus complimenting on "fringe"  2. Presidium groundskeeper comaplining about asari "funny bumps")

Breasts belong to mammals (species that need them to feed their babies), so in the end it depends on how they reproduce.

Breasts belong to mammals (species that need them to feed their babies), so in the end it depends on how they reproduce.

Compare monkey/ape breasts to those of humans.

Obviously, they way they look has nothing to do with reproduction, and everything with being attractive to the other gender (which, obviously, has to do with reproduction as well, but it has nothing to do with the functionality of feeding the child). This is arbitrary, we could just as well have red, shiny asses or suddenly brightly green shining lips, or women could measure the fitness of a male by how big his nose is, or how small his pinky, and men could value their women by how big their index finger is. Only similarity between all these is that they have nothing to do with how fit a person is and in a lot of cases can even be detrimental to survival (and hence, reproduction). Then the fitness is shown by how well the individuals has survived in spite of it's handicap.

But back to boobs and mammals: it's not impossible that a species that doesn't feed their offspring via (under 18/21 Americans: CLOSE THY EYES) nipples have boobs. 'If evolution decided' that males had a preference for females with lumps on their chest, the females would have lumps on their chest, regardless of any real functionality.
