Any comic fans have any thoughts on this potential casting and how well the character will translate into film?

It's an interesting casting choice ( provided the rumours are true ). I would have preferred it if he were cast as John Stewart but I suppose this the next best thing. At the very least he will fill out the costume properly, physically you stand him next to Henry Cavil's Superman and he looks he could take him. I also suppose that Dwayne's comedic side could be showcased to highlight Billy Bastion's lack of maturity.

DJ as The Toxic Avenger--yes, please. Biopic about Meryl Streep in which DJ plays Maryl Streep--DAY ONE!  DJ as Snoopy from Peanuts--you betcha. A Series of Unfortunate Events and DJ plays the baby-- take my money. Gone With the Wind remake...
