I believe it was confirmed in the Rptr thingy that Shale would not make an appearance in DA:I.

But what if it's because she isn't Shale anymore, but Shayle Cadash?

Can't say I see it happening personally, but it's something I'd like to see.

What about you guys/gals? Do you think it'll happen? What would you think if it did?

Only yesterday I finished DA:O (again) and had Wynne say they were going to try and regain Shales humanity, never heard that before. It would be interesting for sure, maybe that is where the flirt option is ;)

I also would not mind bioware lying for my own benefit, telling me someone is not there just to make there eventual appearance more of a shock.

That would be nice. It's sad to think Shale personal story having no conclusion and her just staying an golem forever.

I hope so. I would love it if the Dwarf Inquisitor met his long lost ancestor.

No, I think when they said she wouldn't be appearing they meant it, in any incarnation.  I agree with KC on it being an interesting plot point to have a past and present Cadash meet though.

Plus, hasn't it been only a short amount of time since Asunder went down?  I think it's under a year, and Shale was still a golem at that point.  Considering what happened to Wynne, I doubt that Shale has become "fleshy" again in that short of an amount of time.  She still largely hates mages, so there isn't many she could trust.  Maybe Rhys, but I'm doubting it.

Sadly, even though she's my second favorite BW character of all time, it looks like we won't see Shale/Shayle for now.  I hold out some hope that maybe she'll be in a DLC as a temporary party member, or at least as a major player to the DLC's plot.

Wait no one read that she died doing what she loved. She running after a bird and ran off a cliff into the sea. We will miss you. :crying:

Wynne doesn't seem to have been successful in helping Shale regain her dwarvenity, given that Shale is still a golem in Asunder. Unless Rhys or Adrian decided to help her restore herself, of course; I wouldn't mind seeing her again.

  She's a golem, not a lemming.

Indeed - I would love to meet Shale (as a living rock, not a dwarf) again, even more after she (it?) is now used to her own free will and would be a good ally to anyone who can persuade her to work with them :) and maybe her attitude (towards fleshy beings has changed? - not that I would want to romance her/it...too rocky for my taste :D ^^)

greetings LAX

I would love to see Shale again at some point, or at least find out how she's doing.  I loved bringing her along just for the banter.  With no skills and only geneeric warrior talents, she was a little limited at the end of the game, but fun to have along regardless.

That's highly unlikely. Without giving any major Dragon Age: Asunder spoilers, I'll just say that Wynne doesn't ever end up finding a way to bring Shale back to normal, nor will she ever get the chance to. Without Wynne to help out Shale, Shale's chances of becoming a dwarf again are even slimmer than before.

I've expressed my desire about Shale not being in the game before. Leave her for a future game set in Tevinter. Preferrably as a full-on companion (so not DLC-related), and her personal quest involves turning her back into the dwarf Shayle or leaving her a golem.

A nice but tragic touch would be if she were to be the only surviving Hero of the Blight from Origins when she re-appears. You know, because some time will have passed.

I'm not sure it's possible to get Shale body back , I think it was destroyed and used for the golem thingie.

I don't think it's a simple malediction you can break.

She can't shapeshift, she's no mage. And since she's made of rocks there's still the problem of turning into flesh.

Maybe putting her soul in a living host is possible?

The only one who would know I guess is Flemeth , it seems she knows how to possess other humans , and she can put her soul into objects ...

But Flemeth is a very special case.

I think we don't have sufficient information about how golems are exactly made to even start speculating about whether or not Shale could get her "old body" back. I mean, I know virtually nothing about the process of making golems other than that dwarves are the "resource" used for them.

I wonder if (considering Asunder) Shale is getting a (future) Princess Fiona treatment instead. Does Inquisition era (presumably) golem!Shale still want to ID as a female dwarf? If she/they do it'd def be nice to ofc resolve this in another game outside of day one Inquisition.

Well Caridin didn't know how to cure that whole "Golem" thing and he knew how to make golems in the first place.

There's a high chances it's enchanted (lyrium ) rocks , and Caridin found a way to bound the soul to it.

Since he used an magical anvil  and dwarves are not mages ,I think the bodies were simply  smashed .

So it's also probably blood magic.
