Anyone seen the screens of Zaeed? Why would they make him a DLC instead of put him on the disc? The guy looks like he could out-fight shepard or hold off grunt for a little while.

Why? Not enough room or to avoid people pirating the game. Who knows.

I guess to convince people to buy the game new over used. Used only gets five dollars off, but the cerberus network is fifteen dollars. Also, Zaeed was made by the DLC crew separately from the ME2 crew. Lastly, disk space. A whole character can be between 400-800 MB.

If he's anything like Shale, his character simply didn't make it into the game before content lock occurred. They probably then decided to add him into the game as a bonus feature for those of us who bought the game, rather than leaving all that work they put into him on the cutting room floor.

They squeeze all they can get onto a disc. 400-800 is alot for one disc. And we don't know which disc it would need to be on.

I buy games from stores, trustworthy and helps the company make another game.

What annoys me is that we will have to go through a probably borked and laggy redeem setup on the DAY of the release

*Watches the entire forums registering codes and the lag that insues*

Yes, it does NOW. I'm referring to why they didn't put it on the disc.

Well I read this in the Cerberus Network thread that is stickied:

Michael Gamble wrote...

Zaeed, Hammerhead and an additional planet will be free.

The only caveat is that Hammerhead will not be released Day1 (but it shouldnt be too long after release).

If i have a chance later, i will address a number of the issues brought up on this forum, and hopefully set the record straight.

For now, I just want to reiterate that we care about our customers. The people (most of you, in fact) who are buying the game new deserve additional content. This Cerberus content is *additional* and it was not cut from the main game and given away. For a game like ME2, Casey and the production staff would never allow that. We have spent thousands of developer hours on this free content and know that it compliments the main ME2 storyline.

They separate him from the main game content because it stops second hand sales while legitimate players don't lose any content.  It is not meant to stop piracy (and while ME2's DLC may be more secure than DA:O's, it didn't stop people from getting Shale) and it isn't meant to screw over people who buy the game new.

EA is just really fed up with Gamestop.

While I dont completely agree with the above poster states. EA does seem to be fed up to its eyeballs in piracy and second hand games.

It appears apparrent that EA is going to have a new policy with its RPGs (or at least Bioware does). Where they will be exclusive major content(characters) from now on.
This would also explain why EA seems to be trying to amelieorte Gamestop, or am I the only one who noticed that Gamestop and ONLY Gamestop(in North America that is) got the best pre-order DLC this time around? EA generally saves the best pre-order items for themselves.. It seems they decided to throw Gamestop a bone. because the first owner DLC will definately cut into their bottom line.

Why buy it used, when in the long run your going to have to pay ten dollors extra for buying it second hand?

Exactly. I can't fault them for that at all, and giving me the content free when I buy the game new is something I'm totally okay with. However, there will be blood when the Shale codes all expire in April.

I am avoiding any and all info about this character. Happy for this to be a total surprise - no clue what he looks like or what he can do.
