How could anyone think Morrigan is ugly? She was beautiful in Origins and she's beautiful now. I personally love her new design. Ten years have passed after all.
Why an ugly Morrigan?

As others have stated, beauty is in the eye of beholder and I'm glad Bioware won't follow the common clichës. Personally I think she's beautiful, even with her imperfections. Since hey, every normal being too has imperfections on their faces at least at times.
Movies, comics and video games shouldn't just do something "because it's popular" when it comes to character looks. They only make them look bland and all the same. Morrigan is showing the effects of years on her face. I guess she's around +30-years and those imperfections can be caused by stress. If she's in Orlais, I can totally understand even she could be stressed out there after reading The Masked Empire. Sure, she has her magic help her but she can't really overuse it to not blow her cover (unless it's known by many already in the game).
Still, she looks Morrigan to me. The Morrigan I really loved in Origins.

I don't think she's ugly, but she looks too different in my opinion. It's weird that her facial structure, especially her mouth changed. But new Morrigan is a super model compared to DA2 Zevran, Alistair, and Teagan. Never forget!

its been 10 years or more, you didn't expect her to look the exact same did you? lol, j/k. Still what's so ugly about her? Also during the Sacred Ashe's trailer, she wasn't really all that lol ![]()

If there's something I've never liked, for any game, it's the disgusting doll-faces that modders always offers as alternative faces.
...Or Japanese made character models. Even more creepy.
No, I don't think the new Morrigan is lovely. And, yes, I think she's changed more than her years. But nothing like that survives a switch of graphical engine. It just doesn't happen.
And I do think Morrigan's and Cassandra's looks are just fine. Particularly when the game puts a personality on them as well. That's really the test. Not how they looks.

As long as Morrigan has her sense of humor, she can dress butt naked for all I care.

She looks perfectly aged and beautiful. She may look older but she's still exotic and elegant in her own way. I guess you couldn't stand the look of young Flemeth. ![]()

More like 25 years the way she looks.

Yeah, her facial structure is slightly different. A side effect of switching to the new Frostbite engine. But she still looks recognizable and that's the important thing.
Poor Zevran, though. I try to forget. ![]()

I sooo hope I look this good when I'm 50: Just sayin'.

She does look a lot more like her self in this image, I'd say. Regardless, I think she looks great, and I'm glad Dragon Age has never gone for that plastic 'anime-doll' type of beauty some people seem to prefer. All the new designs look like actual real-life people - complete with flaws and imperfections that give them character. Even celebrities that are considered beautiful have those.

I believe Matt Rhodes had commented once that they made it a goal to allow imperfections to remain which isn't always the case in game design.

Care or hope? Few people would object to naked Morrigan (at least privately)

Yes! I was in the Solas thread, in response to a Photoshop someone did of Solas with slightly 'fixed' proportions where the opinion IIRC was pretty evenly divided between whether it was 'better' or just 'more generic.' An interesting read if anyone's curious about character design at all, so I went and dug it up:
For those who are interested, we have been very calculated when it comes to engineering our characters imperfections. The development process has a built in erosion mechanism: many stakeholders in many review meetings tend to trim away a characters humanizing flaws and oddities, leaving little more than "pretty" and "safe" . Strip and shave most game characters today and you'd be hard pressed to tell most of them apart. We've worked very hard on Inquisition to safeguard our characters from this erosion process. We want to give them more identity than just their clothes, hairstyle and makeup. It's our hope that after you've spent some time with them, our character's will be as inseparable from their quirks, flaws and oddities as your own friends and family are from theirs

Agreed.
Ok, if you like an "air" something retarded, you're right.
Leliana is amazing, not the twit witcher.

No, that's not the important part, but yours...
Counter-exemple: 1. Shepard in ME franchise still a gorgeous character; 2. Leliana still sexy, beautiful (she is remaked into Frostbite too, dont you see?).
Morrigan now is a trash figure and, in fact, tha "atmosphere"/ambience about witcher sexy and dangerous, well, Bioware sent for the garbage. Morrigan is not recognized if you consider "Sacred Ashes" concept.

I think the only character appearance people are satisfied with is Varric.
I somewhat preferred the older Varric with the more prominent jaw, but I'll get used to the new one. Still Brian Bloom's voice.
I think Cullen in particular looks FANTASTIC now, though. He looks much older and more mature without looking OLD. It gives me hope that there will be character creator options between "I'm 17!" and "I'm 52!" His hair still has the tiniest "hairpiece" about it, though. So it goes.
