I agree (and I did post about this a few times already ;) )

And it's not only her either:

Cassandra got hit with the de-beautification stick, too (she was beautiful in DA2 - and now she is pretty average (not really ugly))

greetings LAX

Agree 100%. I had forgotten Cassandra's name. She was maked by total sloppiness, too.

I could be wrong but haven't most these characters aged significantly at this point?

In Inquisition, it has been ten in-game years since the happenings in Origins.  So yes, Leliana, Morrigan, and Alistair are supposed to have aged ten years.  Cassandra is nearing 40, as the date of the events in her anime take place in 9:22 Dragon and it is now 9:40 Dragon in Inquisition.  Even if Cass was 16ish (super doubtful) in Dawn of the Seeker, she'd be mid-30s at the youngest.

That's still no excuse for her to have aged like an overweight housewife (!) - She is a WARRIOR for god's sake, she stayed in training (and combat) all those years, so she is supposed to look fit (and that would make her beautiful IMHO) and not like she is an office sitter/civil servant who does not need to do anything but get payed and sit somewhere doing nothing...

Fit people do age better than this (I should know - I have an aunt who is 60 and looks better than most people do at 40-45...she keeps fit by nordic walking and eating healthy (and the walking is less hard than training for warriors, from sword fighting to running in full armor!))

Morrigan's a mage, not a warrior or rogue. She can afford to let up a bit if she wants to. Magic has its perks.

Are we still talking about Cassandra? Cassandra is what overweight housewives look like to you? I'm pretty sure the skeletal skinny model that she would just have to be if her current look is "overweight" would not be capable of wearing metal plate and hefting a sword and shield.

To me, Cassandra looks like the slightly older female military personnel I know. And I would just love for her to be a real person long enough to give you the look you so rightly deserve for that comment. :?

Because we'll be looking at them for, oh, the entirety of the game? Sure, personality is important, but people also need to be able to look at their screens. :P

There's a difference between being fit, and being war bedraggled.  Years of battle stress, battle wounds, taxing both the mind and body, and likely dealing with some level of PTSD from a life of being in constant fear for one's life does not do wonders for peoples physical, mental or emotional health and well being.

A life of battle, war and being on the run is an entirely different kettle of fish than a person who spends their lives just exercising and keeping fit.

She's not the Nosferatu  At worst she looks average... Does everyone in your world have to be super models or else your eyes melt?

I was raised by my family to see the beauty in a person not by physical appearance but by their Heart, Soul and Deeds they do. To look at a person and see only their physical beauty and have no clue about anything else is a path to disaster, A person could be the most beautiful, most perfect specimen on the entire planet but hide an ugly heart, soul and truly evil deeds.

I do not see Morrigan as Ugly I see her older abit more wiser and holding a few dark secrets of her own and abit mysterious.

If you can't see past the physical beauty than your nothing more than superficial in how you perceive a woman or man to meet your high standards, grow alittle and learn to look past the outside an look more inner, find the real beauty the real person.

Um what, if anything she'll end up with bad skin, scars and maybe lose a tooth or two. combat is not a trip to the spa.

Ohhhh boy. You have some seriously strange standards.

In what universe does the character model for Cassandra come across as overweight? She's wearing full plate armour and even then she's still got quite a trim figure. And her face is angular and strong-featured, no spare weight anywhere.

She has scars, she looks like she's been through some struggles, and she looks fierce and battle-ready. All of those things have come from a life of action and fighting, not being a yoga-modeled gym bunny. I'm sure your aunt would look considerably different had she been hefting armour and regularly attacked with swords. As it is, I happen to think that all the female characters in Inquisition look great, and more than that-they look like individual people, not just sexbots with different hairstyles.

I do worry a bit about the people who get so concerned about the looks of virtual characters. There are thousands of places in this world to find women that match your particular requirements to objectify and perve over, one video game really shouldnt be such a big deal.

I loved Cassandra in the Dragon Age movie Dawn of the Seekers it shows her background, she lived a hard life and managed to fight past her hatered of all things mages.

I liked her in Dragon Age 2 she was still young but showing signs of battle and determenation a strong, stubborn young woman.

I think DA:I she's going to be even more stubborn and even more determined to see an end to the fighting.

Leliana & Merrill are still my 2 favorite characters in the DA series, who knows I may add Cassandra to that list after playing DA:I.

She did raise a child after all, kids tend to age us rather quickly with all that they do.

You know I had a funny thought what if the Child Morrigan raised is actually our main character being in that other realm the child probably grew a lot quicker than most children and since he/she had the soul of an old god would be conceivable that we would gain powers to see and do things most could not.

DA:I show us an ugly Morrigan. There is no more the beautiful and sensual witch from Korcari whom we play in DA:O. Unfortunately her face was rudely transformed in DA:i. Intentional mistake? I think so, since Leliana still is beautiful; Not much different, it continues them to me attractively.

Why Bioware didn't "remake" THIS the Morrigan at time? Simply I don't manage to understand...

Well, women happen to get older and change with time, just like all living beings.

And no, beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, beauty is in the nature of the world as it is. Either you appreciate it or you don't, in which case you get to appreciate less beauty overall.

Oh, bad guys! Come on!

There are a ancient and mythical "ambience" throw every witch, but now... Jesus... Morrigan scares me! O.o

Oh, so you mean that realistic-looking women scare you?

I search before, but I dont find anything about it. Sorry for any inconvenience ;-;

But Morrigan in DAI is so much ugly... God, my characters make love with her? I dont think so! I was drunk, certainly!

You know, women are not made specifically to please your eyes. They are also people with personalities, which should always matter a lot more than appearance.

One last tip: sexism and machismo will not improve your chances of having beautiful Morrigans "make love with you".

Morrigan doesn't look aged. She looks different. And she doesn't look any more realistic than she did before. On the enemies of thedas trailer her face looks like a teenage boy. I don't know where you're getting the "aged" thing. Leliana's face looks very young as well and that's obviously the engine. Both women are supposed to be pushing 40.

Provided the game takes place in a period where the world wasn't big on self care and lower quality of life compared to today's standards, involving characters that spend the better part of their lives fighting, there is nothing realistic about any of these models. The only way to compare them is at face value, and most new models while having more detail, are not as pretty as their earlier models.

The look like today's average people with better than average bodies. And while that's not bad, there is nothing wrong with people wanting to having 10s, both men and women, in the game and don't care for realism.

I'm just going to once again remind people that Morrigan's looks vary by opinion, I enjoy her new look and to be completely honest, she's younger looking than she should be at nearly 40 years old and also modeled more physically attractive than most people would consider to be "average". It's a video game so I know we're all used to seeing beautiful, perfect women around every corner but Morrigan isn't there to be pretty for you, she's there to be a supporting character and have a part in the story. So worry about your LI of choice's looks and stop wasting time worrying about hers because it's not going to effect you either way, you won't be pursuing her and probably not even looking at her a ton.

All of the characters in Inquisition (that I've seen so far) look ugly. Even Varric. It is very unfortunate.
