not sure, i think that when u beat the game it makes a special save somewhere that cant be loaded. this is the save ME2 uses to import as far as im aware.

I wrote an answer in another thread. I will just copy it here:

It is really simple actually.

Everytime you beat ME1 a special end game save is created (right before the credits). This save is stored somewhere deep inside the Xbox's file system so you cannot manully extract/copy/move it without an HDD transfer kit. This however is the file used for importing your character.

So if you beat ME1 on HDD1 and move your gameprofile as well as all your saves to a MU you would not copy our special end game save. It would still remain on HDD1.

If you then copy your gamertag and save files from your MU to HDD2 you still cannot import a character in ME2. You'd have to load one of your close to end saves and beat ME1 again thus creating another special end game save on HDD2. And voila, you can import your character in ME2.

To check if you have the special end game save (since you cannot see it in the Xbox's dashboard) just start a new game on ME1 and select existing ID. If you are able to choose the character you want to import into ME2 you are good to go. Otherwise just beat the game again with a close to end save game.

Hope that clears things up.

No. On Xbox360 all save files are tied to their specific gamertag. You have to use the same gamertag with which you completed the game. If you just changed the gamertag's name however it is fine. If you created a new one, then you will be out of luck.

At jack falter and gropax, simple enough: Use the D-pad to select the characters you want to import.

I have the same problem - have multiple completed ME1 characters but only 1 shows up in Green as a valid character for ME2. Last night I replayed the end of ME1 with one of my other characters to establish the new save but still cannot import that character into ME2. I did upgrade from a 20GB HDD to a 120 GB HDD using the Microsoft transfer kit about a month ago. I notice that the one character I can import is a lvl 48, whereas all of my other ME1 characters are between vl 54 and lvl 60. Maybe the higher level is the issue?

I repeat, D-pad. USE THE D-PAD IN ORDER TO NAVIGATE BETWEEN DIFFERENT ME1 CHARACTERS! USING THE LEFT STICK DOES NOT WORK.

Thanks that worked. Feel pretty dumb - didn't even consider the D-Pad!

Not a problem. It's a bit unsual considering how the 360's D-pad is pretty much dead in all games, but BioWare still did it that way for some reason.

THANK YOU, FP7. I have been going frantic for the last half hour trying to figure out why the hell I couldn't select my second ME1 character to import into ME2. Never even thought of using the D-pad. I could smack the developer who made that particular decision right now...

Well when I first finished MASS EFFECT 1. my END GAME data and GAMER PROFILE was all on my HDD. Over time I moved my GAMER PROFILE to a MU but kept the game save data on my HDD. When I started MASS EFFECT 2, everything game save data has been fine including the IMPORT CHARACTER DATA.

However I am still having problems with my DRAGON AGE ORIGINS save files (have them on two HDD's while again GAMER PROFILE is on a MU) where I keep getting a error message saying that there is a problem with the account storage. I asked BIOWARE to shed light on the issue and so far all they told me was to "Log my xbox account/Bioware out then log back in". I have done both numerous times and still get the error message.

Is there a way to delete the import saves for ME1 on the Xbox without formatting my hard-drive? I have beatten ME1 with the same character a few times and I am starting to get too many new game + saves with the same name. It's a little annoying having to look through all those saves of the

same character just to find the last one that I've played. Any help is

appreciated. Thanks.

I have been trying all day to import my Lvl 60...... Wow...such a simple solution...I thought since it was gold it was unavailable....I even was so frustrated I thought about Erasing my whole HD and starting over :crying:...Glad I ran into this forum...You would think this could be easily patched   ^_^.....
