What are they? I'd like to do some experimenting with some non-Venom builds tonight, since I'm out of Shotgun amps. Shocking, I know.

I'm looking for builds that are not considered OP (TGI, GT, AIU etc.) and not a common sight in Platinum.

Just to give you an idea on what I'm looking for: I tried the Novaguard and the Vorcha Hunter a few days ago, both were really fun.

Off the top of my head,

 

1. Human Engineer + Saber w/disruptor ammo

2. Human Soldier + Saber w/ AP or drill

3. Smashdept + Eagle (or Talon if you don't like eagle on Plat) - I run heavy barrel, power magnifier and AP ammo. Arc pistol synergizes pretty well with his power spam and animations too

4. Drell Infiltrator + Valiant/Arc pistol

5. Bonus power Smashguard + Talon (I spec into melee in fitness to make use of 6a power synergy when it gets activated but it's a matter of preference)

6. Turian Saboteur + Crusader (I know you don't have SG amps, but you can get away with targeting VI and shock trooper upgrade) - or use saber

7. Vorcha Hunter + Kishock (disruptor or incendiary for cheese). Executioner may be friendlier off-host.

8. Turian Sentinel + Falcon/CSMG or Saber

9. Drell Adept + Arc Pistol 

 

In short, put arc pistol or saber on everything.

But none of those kits are cheesy or OP(if anything is) for Platinum. They all prime, detonate and mitigate well...plus decent survivability. That's what platinum is about but OT:

 

I like the Awakened Collector as a wild card kit. The Enemies on Plat are always clumped together making Dark Sphere just a thing of beauty. CSMG is a great main for him and while the Dark Sphere doesnt wall hack the explosion radius does...most things aren't safe.

QFE with CSMG, 66653 build.  Turret: Shock, AP, Shields Damage.  Incinerate: Damage, BD, Freeze Combo.  Cryo Blast: Radius, CE, Frozen Vulnerability.   Power damage in passives.  SMG amp, Power Amp, Disruptor Rounds, Geth Scanner.  Keep that turret moving!  Throw it in a group, irritate the crowd with the shock, and shoot them when they're not focused on you.  Tech burst everything with Disruptor.  Spam that cryo and incinerate.  I have fun using her on Platinum.  

 

 

Another character I like using is the Human Adept with a Talon, 66644.  Singularity:  Radius, LD, Detonate.  Warp: Detoante, Expose, Pierce.  Shockwave:  F&D, Detonate, Recharge Speed.    Pistol amp, Adrenaline or Cyclonic, AP, and Geth Scanner.  Run around, shoot and explode things.  Fun character.  Love getting multiple booms!

I disagree with that. Without trying to look elitist or anything, I think that, above a certain skill level, those builds can trivialize the game in most Platinum scenarios. Of course, it's sometimes good to be OP, but sometimes, "it ain't easy being cheezy".

Wraith - High Caliber Barrel/Smart Choke
Drill Ammo III
Targeting VI (since your out of shotgun amps)
Cyclonic III or IV
Shocktrooper Gear

Spec it however you want as long as you have max weapon damage passives and max Cryo Blast.

Just finished a quick Plat game (condor/Collectors) with that Valkyrie build. The extra Movement speed really helped a lot, and we had a full Extraction. So, I guess it will do even better on easier maps for ya. Have fun!

Ouch, that sucks. I'm sorry! I'd just bring a GI javelin with drill ammo and show the shuttle pilot that there actually is time for orbital bombardment.

QMI with Indra and incendiary ammo (fitnessless) - always worked like a charm for me.

 

And then there is always the HEngies (fitnessless) - I often took the Eagle with them.

 

For Biotic teams I'd always recommend a Justicar (no pull)

^By far my favorite character for Platinum - similar build for me, though I take rank 5 Power Dmg in her (his) passives and only 3 in fitness. Also, I love the N7 Eagle on her with piercing mod and warp ammo. To me, there is nothing better than hearing the multiple booms on a thick group of baddies . 

 

Not that I play Platinum much or am any good when I do haha.
