Lets assume theres a problem with DAK at the time i make a save and upload it to DAI.
Will i have to recreate another save after that issue is solved and start again - or - DAK will fix my save without damaging game progression?

We have no idea, but I don't think they will be fixing world states, so you'd probably have to go in and make a new one

Why would there even be an issue with the Keep at all? There is the misconception the Keep generates a save file, it doesn't, look for one of the latest Bioware posts in the stickied Keep thread. Since it doesn't truly generate a save file, it probably generates a code, ie like a character creation code.

The Keep currently doesn't read old save files either and there is a good chance it never will.

The answer to that question would depend on what sort of problem it was.

Isn't the elimination of import bugs one of the primary reasons behind the Keep?  I just don't see how they could mess this up if it's a simple Q and A survey with strictly controlled variables.  Have a little faith, people.

If I am understanding the question it'd be something like: the save you imported using the Keep said you killed all the mages in Broken Circle when you really saved them in your DA:O game. You start a DA:I game, find out this is the plot flag that's been flagged via the dialogue or something you hear and want it corrected. And you want to know if you can correct that flag in the Keep and have it update the world state of the current DAI game you have going, rather than needing to start a new game to get the updated world state.

If that's what you're asking for, I am guessing the answer is that you would indeed need to restart. You may very well have already accessed content at that point that used that incorrect plot flag to trigger, after all. To allow you to retroactively change bits of your world state in an active game would cause paradoxes.

You'd think Bioware would have in something to stop you from making a bad save.  Given how long Bioware's been working on the Keep and it going living a month or so before DAI, I'm sure they'll make it so you can't make a bad save.  Point of the beta is to catch things that could possibly make a bad save.

There will likely be a LOT of choices ranging from your Warden's family to whether or not you killed Anders in DA2, but if there's a choice that didn't import, chances are you probably didn't check it properly in the Keep.  If you did, then it's possible it's a bug within DAI itself.

Only way for the save to be corrupted would be if the download was corrupted.  Would be a small matter of just redownloading it then.

I wouldn't worry about it.  The Keep's designed to avoid import bugs and will soon be opened to everyone to play with.

Let me try and clear up one point. There is no "save" being generated by the Keep. It is a clearly understood piece of data between the game and the Keep that is nothing like a save game. There are no file downloads taking place to your gaming system, just an exchange of that data. Also, there is no importing of previous saves, so the only way to get the data wrong is to make the data wrong yourself.

I believe the question was whether a game in progress would recognize changes in the Keep data.

If I start a game with a Keep state where the Warden is a man, and an hour in I realize my error and change that Keep state to one where the Warden is a woman, does the game react to that, or is the information set in stone when I hit 'Start?'

That's a really good question.  I'm reasonably certain the keep will import decisions correctly, but what happens if they change?  I know the keep is all hush-hush and all, but a bit of anxiety over how well an unknown is going to work is natural and the secrecy about it is maddening, TBH.  Maybe that's even the reason the keep is for a select (lucky) few.  No one wants their oopses advertised.  I know I don't like it when my many character flaws show up every time I open my mouth in public, and I doubt the ones found so far in the keep are any more entertaining.  I'm really hoping that it works this time.

I just don't see how they could mess this up if it's a simple Q and A survey with strictly controlled variables.

Because the valid combinations are all defined. Which means every combination needs to be known and enforced when building the world state (and they've already said there's a ton of tricky back-end logic to make sure every state the Keep generates is valid).

Joe said last year that they would have the capacity to automatically update world states on the Keep, but I don't know if it would propagate to existing games (I'd suspect not, since you supposedly only need to be online when starting a new game?), nor how severe an issue would have to be for them to consider correcting all the existing user data.

Hopefully there won't be any meaningful bugs with the Keep (on the back end, at least), and we'll never need to know.

The information from the Keep is only read once when you start a new game. That game/state will never look to the Keep again.
