If your product is not ready for the consumer then it should of course be delayed. I'm not upset about that at all.

But if you can't meet a specific deadline that you announced to the world--stop announcing specific deadlines. Other successful companies do this pretty well. At this point I don't have any confidence that November 18th actually means November 18th.

Thanks, be back in November.

Oh, excellent. Way to screw over the vacation time from work I already booked. Guess I'll have a nice week off in October to do nothing now. Maybe next time you guys could give the "measure twice, cut once" thing a go before announcing a release date? Honestly.

Or you could realize that delays happen, and they aren't actually meant to screw over you personally as an individual, but rather to polish the actual product that Bioware as a company are going to be selling, that they want to be as good as possible.

Delays are not an uncommon thing in the videogame industry, maybe you should be more careful about booking time off work to play a game that doesn't come out for 3 months?

BioWare isn't your parents or your grandparents.

If I reacted that way over a toy, my grandma would have whooped my ass.

Sounds like you had a legit grandma.

While I agree a few are over reacting to it, especially the person you're replying to, but being disappointed is completely normal.

Like it feels like (someone mentioned this earlier) you promised your kid a toy on his birthday but then went "Nope, gotta wait till christmas" .

It's very human and you shouldn't be judgmental about it.

Being disappointed is okay, acting like a child (assuming that person is grown up) is not okay.

I don't know the state of the game, but I believe it is justified to be cautious when confronted with delays in light of games like Watch_Dogs where the game did indeed come out worse after it's delays.

I'm not saying I believe it will be better if released in October. I'm saying things happen, and I hope Bioware does not follow in Ubisoft's footsteps...

Besides, I'm going to get it either way just because I have an almost insatiable need to see how the story continues :3

So I'm clear, you think that Watch Dogs would have been a better game than what people received, if it was released earlier than when it came out?

I'm tired of the PC master race's constant bemoaning of perfection and their entitlement issues, but we can't always get what we want now can we?

I don't claim perfection or 60 FPS under a Core 2 Duo + Nvidia 8800 hardware, just not another unplayable mess like Watch_dogs.

Honestly, I'd rather wait another year just so they could give us more stuff to do in the game and possibly more female playable companions. Three female companions to balance the six male companions we already have. I could see Isabela, another mage and maybe another warrior joining them. More quests, more adventures, more team variables... Heck, I'd be ready to wait this long just to have an awesome experience like I did with Mass Effect 2.

Sorry, but when I pay FULL PRICE (more in my case, since I am getting the Inqui edition) for something I expect it to work.

My mom would have rubbed her pointer finger and her thumb together and said "Do you hear that? That's the tiniest violin, playing just for you."

I know I guessed sometime in mid November, I don't think it was the 18th though. I got yelled at because apparently November belongs to Call of Duty only.

Great, so now I'll have to resort to Arkham Knight, Sunset Overdrive, TESO, and Destiny to entertained me for an extra month.

Malarkey!

I don't find the delay itself anywhere near as frustrating as some of the insane reactions people in this thread are having...

Who seriously takes vacation time over 75 days in advance? What the hell, people?

Unfortunately, I can't confirm that it's the ultra ultimate definite no-take-backsies release date, although I'd be ridiculously surprised if it slipped again. Take that for what it's worth.

Some of us may have our holidays impacted too, if it's any consolation.

As for the thread in general, I admit I am a bit confused. I realize it may not be the same people saying the previous complaints, but with all the assertions that EA (and by extension BioWare) isn't concerned about quality and more concerned about shipping a game regardless of what state it's in, but the messages I'm getting here is the opposite. I can understand reticence (hmm, they're delaying the game... obviously they aren't happy with where it's currently at), but at the same time... if we didn't think the game would be high enough quality for October 7th, should we still release it then anyways because people really want it and don't like waiting?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but some seem to be thinking that us spending the extra month will actually make the game worse than if we were to just release in October? Or is it "this delay makes me think the game is just in a bad state" simply because a delay means it's not ready when we would have liked?

Not sure if you are aware Allan, Battlefield Hardline another EA game scheduled for October has been delayed too?

Thinking about it, my money is on a new set of optimization libraries for Frostbite, which would mean a much more polished game  :)

Disappointment is not the issue here. That I perfectly understand.

However the assumptions that the game will get worse or that Bioware can't do this because I'm a loyal customer borders on the inane.

To counter the example of a toy to a kid, Bioware ain't your parents. They're a business. They aim to make a product that will sell.

The sooner people get this, the faster you'll avoid disappointment.

What people are saying here is more or less due to their disappointment, there is no other word that can describe it.

In your second line, the latter is overreaction that I've barely even seen, the former is because there was another game that was super hyped and got delayed for the exact same amount of time in the name of "polishing", then got released with a ****ton of bugs and optimization issues.

Thirdly, the point of an analogy is not to be taken literally, if that's the case then I shouldn't even pay for the game since what kind of parents use their kids money to buy his gift. It's simply to show what level of disappointment/sadness fans will be feeling.

Finally a business that simply aims to create a product to sell, is a failure business, the product has to also show how good the business is. Like if a Musical Artist produces a second album that sells 100k copies, that's a really good sale figure! But was the music good? Was there improvement from the last album? Does the artist deliver what he tries to promise his fans? If everything went well, then he's all good and will probably start to sell even more in future albums, but if he failed then that's a good bye to his career, or he'll go through a really tough time. That said the game was promised at October 7th, so much hype was sparked for that date, they've already delayed for a year and gave the impression everything is finalized and they had enough time, but they postpone it for another 40 days.

EDIT: Let it be made clear that I'm not bitter at all about the delay, even though it annoys me because now I can't really play the game on release because of finals. And that I know very well that there are a few people who are overreacting about the whole deal like mad.

5 more weeks is really nothing in the grand scheme of things, especially if it makes a better game in the end.    I wish more developers would make the effort to delay launches to finish debugging and polishing their games.
