So, to sum up, the game that will come out on 11/18 is actually better than the game I am *not* playing today?  You guys ROCK!!!  ('Cuz, I didn't really want to say it, but the game I'm not playing today is really lame...nothing ever happens)

 

And, Party Bags is my next white card suggestion on the Cards Against Thedas thread, Inquisitor Julianos...it sounds just that tiny bit naughty.

BioWare's "Alpha" isn't necessarily consistent with the rest of the industry's concept of it.

Regardless, the game isn't ready... Not until nov it would seem.

Awhile back they announced the game was in alpha. I already knew a delay was inevitable.  

 Yeah I felt the same way. Alpha in May is an afully short amount of time to get to Gold.

I remember when Skyrim was announced for 11/11/11 way in advance.  They stuck with that date and it was released on that right on that day with no delays.....very, very  buggy.  These games are so complex now.  A patch which fixes 20 things can cause a few more problems.

 

For example, somone found code hidden in Skyrim for city battles.  You had to get involved in large battles to free each occupied city before you could enter.  This feature was disabled by Bethesda.  Over a year later a Nexus modder re-enabled them.  So content did get stripped away to meet deadlines. 

 

I'm sure owners of EA do mind the delay , but not that much.  It's still before the holidays and in the winter season for most gaming consumers.  IMHO, a release in March would be much worse.

 

I really hope it get released with only a few minor patches in the first few weeks.  ( I bet everyone does.)

One would think that if the delay was obvious, it wouldn't be a delay, but simply reflected in the original time-table.  It is certainly a known possibility with any product, of course...

I think it would have just had less content, not polish.  They said they added to the scope with the year delay.

I guess they expected to handle the creation progress faster but it didn't go as planned due to bugs and some other troubles? Otherwise what else but bugs they're polishing? Hair and grass textures? Pff, though that would be nice, Varric and Cassandra hair in the original screenshots of 2013 looked pretty bad
