Yes, this is the new official release date for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
What about other countries, like Australia? Plus I pre-ordered the game. Will this effect the release date for that as well?

welp, im disappointed... but take the time you need, maybe skip comicon to work on said unfinished game? But, its probably the fact that they couldn't figure out what to do with multiplayer and are scrambling at the last minute to find a suitable solution
I don't mind this at all, to be honest. I liked DA2, but it's true that with more development time the game could've been way better. So if BW feel like they need another month to do some polishing, taking that month is the way to go. With SWTOR's housing coming out and the Risen 3 release in August I'll have plently of things to do until November anyway. ;-)

Going to comicon is working on an unfinished game. Isn't that what people like Cameron Lee (Producer) are supposed to do as part of the team? Bounce around the globe and promote it? It's not like he's Lead Programmer or something.
My personal Tinfoil Hat Approved theory is that the delay is the result of fiscal quarter/year maneuvering from EA. Regardless of what motivated the delay, six weeks of polish is six weeks of polish, or at the absolute least, additional breathing room in the final push giving a much needed respite to the team.
It's a fairly minor delay, and doesn't bother me. Delaying is always better than rushing if there are no pressing reasons not to delay. I would always rather have a better, more polished, and more robust game later, than have the same game slightly worse and slightly sooner.
The only issue I take with that perspective is it can be repeated indefinitely. Since no creative endeavor can ever be perfect, you can always take the position of "Well, it just needed more time."
I recall that one of the current infamous bugs is Cole's runaway pants.
Will we ever see a reel of that happening someday? ![]()
Mmmm fanbases. The only way to win is not to play.
ok so if this game is delayed why isnt that bit of info showing on the PSN store? I just took a look at my preorder for the digital delux edition and i still got 10/10/14 on the page both on my pc and ps3.

Im not suprised there is a delay, tbh i was suprised at the OCT launch to begin with as bioware could make so much more money with a NOV Launch what with xmas looming over etc ![]()

I really hope so. That and 'Ser Noodle' are the bugs I really want to see immortalised in a gag reel.
(Apparently at one point the horse's legs were doing things no horse's legs should do. I guess legs have caused a lot of bugs in DAI for some reason?)
*stabs book* ![]()
But yeah, hardly suprising. Maybe, just maybe EA doesn't want another "worst company" award ?
What, you needed more time polishing the romances?
Noticed on the Gamestop UK site that they've not updated the release date and don't seem to be aware of the delay yet. Someone needs to get on the line to them, least we have another calamity like when they didn't get the memo on the Collector's Edition for PC... here's to hoping that they're just waiting to update their site and everything will go off without a hitch this time around!
On the plus side, this gives me another month to get the cash together to build a new PC specifically for Inquisition.
(So release the specs already, Bioware!) ![]()
Pokemon ORAS and DAI come out on the same day for me. Anyone see the dilemma here?
No.
Smart move, to move it to after the Assassin's Creed release. Get the AC hypetrain out of the way, let it roll out, then take over the month with fewer big releases. It's a good move, we don't want this game overshadowed by anything.
Yeah, nothing big coming out near november

You're not very clear and your questions are somewhat hostile. If I understand it, you just want someone to say, "Hangman, you're right. They didn't just need an extra year. They needed a year and one month."
But you want Allan to say this because three months ago Allan said they had enough time, and you very much want everyone to know that you were right and he was wrong.
Is that it?
Originally my concern was the late (imo) alpha of the game. So I voiced my concerns. I was ridiculed and whatnot, I got a bit hostile I admit. My concern for the final product quality turned into anger. Then BW staf chimmed in and said you know nothing, we have time, we're on schedule, bla bla bla. People called me butt hurt and then some.
Now it turns out BW needs more time, as they said those 4 weeks can amount to 2 and a half months in crunchtime. Thats a lot. Am I to assume they will have crunch time? If so, in what state is the game really? That amount of time just for polishing? I would question that.
They say a lot of ME3 team is on the game (that may be irrevelat really). Should I expect a game where choices amount to nothing.. again? This statement is maybe a bit unfair, but thats my opinion. And if you are wondering or assuming I see more pressing concerns about ME3 and DA2 than the endgame or reused duneons.
BTW Some comment/s of mine was/were deleted by a mod - "non constructive" they say. Whatever. I see more "nonconstructive" posts in this thread yet my get deleted. I dont care anymore. Just an extension of BSN for you. I got dragged in ( and am to blame too) and I regret it.
Damn. There go my plans for spending my early November vacation with the game u_U Now I don't know if I even got time for it ... Maybe I call in sick or something.
What about other countries, like Australia? Plus I pre-ordered the game. Will this effect the release date for that as well?
Yes...it is delayed in Australia too...
Australia rarely has games release first...if they release at all...censors are fun...
At least you can take solace in the fact that you have miniature versions of the spiders that will be in DAI...that's always good........ ![]()

That game already came out once. It''s not like it's going to sell millions of copies in the first week for the newer generation consoles.
I would rather the game is finished rather than have it be buggy. Fallout New Vegas is one of my favorite games but it was so annoying not to be able to complete missions for several months because it needed patching (the game is now worth playing)... I just hope that the extra few weeks is so they can actually just proof everything properly, not a sign they are rushing towards the end.
Now I have to work out if Alien Isolation or Shadows of Mordor will fill the vacuum left in my October gaming schedule.
"As you may have heard, we’re holding back the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition until November 18, 2014. "

"....most importantly, crafting an epic, nation-spanning story that both draws upon past games and takes you to many new places in the realm of Thedas."

" This last bit of time is about polishing the experience we want you to see. Ensuring that our open spaces are as engaging as possible."

Ah well, waiting is all I've been doing anyway. 5 more weeks? ****** easy.

I thought the producers held the whips? What will happen when those holding the whips leave for comicon, mayhem will ensue.
The pre-order places saying that its still coming out in October will eventually be updated, they have a while so it's probably not super important right now, probably by the weekend.
I saw a couple posts (not sure how many I skipped from pate 22, where I stopped earlier in the night, to page 29 to much whining) asking what will happen to their preorders? Nothing, nothing will happen, it will just be pushed back to the new date. Physical store preorders, and online orders through Amazon, Origins, or whever else you can preorder online will get pushed back as well, nothing will change and you lost no money that you hadn't already lost in the initial preorder.

Question for devs, how long is it between development completion and the games being put on disks and shipped out to stores?

Why all the drama? The release date is pushed back......five weeks? That's nothing. We also don't know anything about the reason since official announcements will say what's going to p*ss off the public, the stockholders and the fans least rather than telling the truth. Could be the game needs polishing, could there are marketing reasons for the delay and they'll take the opportunity to polish the game. Whatever.
All we know is: the game is slightly delayed....*shrug*
....and word filters hereabouts have acquired n*zi levels of tolerance it appears.
