Why all the drama? The release date is pushed back......five weeks? That's nothing. We also don't know anything about the reason since official announcements will say what's going to p*ss off the public, the stockholders and the fans least rather than telling the truth. Could be the game needs polishing, could there are marketing reasons for the delay and they'll take the opportunity to polish the game. Whatever.

 

All we know is: the game is slightly delayed....*shrug*

 

....and word filters hereabouts have acquired n*zi levels of tolerance it appears.

5 weeks is a lifetime, especially since DAI is the only game in the last 2 years that im actually interested in

im glad that they push the deadline forward in order to make the game better, which is something that the production team of mass effect 3 never thought of. but regardless i truly hope that the delay is also bringing more gameplay trailers and so on to further peak our interest

My personal Tinfoil Hat Approved theory is that the delay is the result of fiscal quarter/year maneuvering from EA.

It's not all that tinfoil-hatty. Back when I worked in legal publishing we used to manipulate our end-of-year schedule to make the numbers work all the time. Though this was mostly us trying to manage our relationship with Corporate -- you want to beat Plan enough for everyone to get their bonuses, but only by a little since you don't want Corporate to jack up next year's targets too much.

According to this gameinformer article (http://www.gameinfor...on-q-and-a.aspx) Bioware in early july was still working on "physical finishers" (execution moves in combat):

 

"- The game will feature elemental deaths for "many creatures," and the team is working on finishers for elemental spells and weapons as well. They're still working on physical finishers"

 

Does the delay mean a better chance to see this make it into the final game? If so, I don't mind the wait at all.

I am split on this:

 

On the one hand I want the game ASAP - on the other, of course, I want it to be as perfect as it can possibly be (thus I would be sad if they took until next year, but I would rather have that and a "perfect" game, than have them release pre-maturely (again...DA2...enough said))

I'm very happy about this.  The worst part of DA2 is that is felt rushed.  You could tell from playing the game.  I want more than anything this game to be good, polished and bugs kept to a minimum.  I encourage EA and Bioware to delay liberally.

Both happy and sad at this news. Happy that DA:I will get pushed out of my midterm season, sad that it'll be too close with the release of Pokemon and Persona Q for me to enjoy any of them fully without thinking "I really need to play x". My wallet is starting to cry at the thought.

Technically the new release date is still within the "Fall 2014" time frame. My mind has been set on November for most of 2014. I like to consider the glass half full :-)

This news is disappointing, but not a huge deal. For me it mostly just means it's now closer to Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD which comes out on December 2nd, so I won't have a ton of time with DAI before it comes out. Either I'll just need to be quick or DAI won't be as long as I expect or KH will just have to wait in its shrink wrap on my shelf for a while.

 

Speaking of which, being a fan of both JRPGs and WRPGs is quite nice. I get tired of the people who love only one and hate on the other. I say both types of RPGs have quality to them.

ok so if this game is delayed why isnt that bit of info showing on the PSN store? I just took a look at my preorder for the digital delux edition and i still got 10/10/14 on the page both on my pc and ps3.

Im not suprised there is a delay, tbh i was suprised at the OCT launch to begin with as bioware could make so much more money with a NOV Launch what with xmas looming over etc

 

That'd be because the PSN store is generally pretty awful, but particularly when it comes to updating. I think they've moved to twice weekly now, for ages they only updated once a week.

 True, i guess it gives me an extra month before i have to make sure the money is in my account for them to take payment. I have to budget for everything now and i guess its better its not brought forward instead
