...Its photoshopped ME1 art

Yes, that's why I find it fabulous.

Bioware: The next ME will not be called Mass Effect 4, and will not be about Shepard.

Amazon: The next Mass Effect doesn't have a cover, yet. Let's have someone photoshop Shepard and the title, Mass Effect 4, onto a cover. That'll get us pre-orders.

Wait, it's not even going to be called Mass Effect 4?  What's the bloody point then?

But on the other hand, Far Cry 4 is also coming out on November 18, I'll get to pick up and play both kickass games at the same time.

The trailer for the game at E3 was cool. Looking forward to playing that as well as DAI.

Sure, I'd rather have the game earlier than later. But I'd rather have a good game later than a crappy one earlier. And given how much can be achieved just before the deadline of a project, I expect pushing the deadline another 6 weeks will give it a huge boost in quality.

You'd better not dissapoint me, Bioware! You hear me?!? I want this to be good!

It's still a 3 hour ride away, lest I be on my motorbike and driving through the mountains on a near daily basis :(

Quit "polishing" it, you'll go blind or get hairy palms. Maybe both. :P

How would one go about requesting sass in a job posting? I assume flat out saying it will just bring out the try-hards and posers. Is this what people mean when they fluff up postings with "we value an informal environment"?

You know, just once, I'd like to wake up one morning, turn on the computer, and see on the front page video game news that a game has been PUSHED FORWARD in its release date.  That's right, it's been....sent to the front of the release date line.   But nope, it's nothing but bad news in the gaming industry as of late.

It feels like that one episode of Rocko's Modern Life...which one was it again?  Oh...that's right!

, Never going to happen if you over estimate how long the Bug fixing will take, I would imagine based on what's been said by Developers well it just means you got more time to get at the smaller less important ones you where going to let slide because they where not really as vital as the ones you where going after. I bet if that ever happened the Developers would throw a small party as well.

Its only another month. If that gives them the time to be rid of any bugs and fine tune things they couldn't, then that's fine by me.

People accuse us of feeling jerked around without a release date too.

Exactly.

I much preferred that they announced the delay this much in advance. My heart goes out to those who - like me - put in vacation time off work based on the Oct. 7th date. But at least it was notice enough for some - like me - to put in a change request that was successful. I nevertheless feel awful for those who cannot get their dates changed, but at least some could... whereas, an announcement at the 11th hour would have done no good for anyone at all.

Great news. More bugfixing + polishing before release is always good. :)

I love the idea of the two of you sitting in the same office bouncing sassy one liners off one another instead of analyzing technical quality assurance.

I just cancelled my pre-order. Here is why:

- Bioware/EA, or whomever is responsible for the delay, just missed the window. Delaying the game for an entire year, to be on the new platforms, was a subjective delay. An argument can be made either way. However, when the splash is made, all vendors have Oct 7 as the launch date, and then it is pushed off again, consumers are generally not happy. This slip, puts the game release date just nine days prior to Thanksgiving in the US. That is a major market, and one whose sales could slip. Who wants to start a game, put it down due to Thanksgiving (travel, family visits, friend visits, getting ready for the dinners, weekend shopping, football, etc.), and then pick it up sometime in December? Then, just a few weeks after that, Christmas starts! Sure some will; but, some will not. In fact, that is one major reason why I just cancelled. The delay was just to much. A week or two would have been ok; however, six weeks, and into the holiday season is just not worth it.

- DAO vs DAII vs DAI. DAO was a winner. No question. It is generally safe to say DAII was a disappointment. Will DAI be the winner or old, or a sequel to a disaster? Given this delay, one can only speculate. Is the Keep not ready? Do they have more bugs than a trash heap? Is it Marketing? Or are they afraid of another release? Given all this, I will be on the sidelines waiting to see how people review the game, rather than pre-ordering it.

- Shadows or Mordor: This is also scheduled for a Oct 7 release. Was Bioware/EA afraid that this would cut into their Marketing/Sales/Profits? Possibly. The game has generated a lot of buzz on the internet, and maybe, just maybe Bioware/EA felt they could not compete. If so, then that furhter erodes my confidence in the game.

Perhaps I am in a daze, and I missed the true reason for the delay. Maybe I missed the press release. Perhaps there is a valid reason. But for me, I will not wait. Perhaps I will pick it up in January, after the holidays; but, only if the overall reviews are good. Had they kept the original release date, my pre order would have not been cancelled.

An excellent question; just HOW BAD can this game possibly be?

After the delay of a year or so and now the extra six weeks I don't think I want to know
I guess we we should be happy for all the delay so we get the best game possible
Sure I was all set to play it on October 10 but if the devs need a few more week then I'm ok with that
Take all the time you need to give us the best experience possible

I am sorry that you feel that way, but we decided it was best for us to push it back. So that is what we did, in a public traded company there is 3 major stakeholders.

The shareholders, the customers, and the employees and we decided to make a decision that would best work with those 3 in mind.

Also Dragon Age is international, and while the US makes up a good amount of our market, you cant always appease around the holidays of everyone.

For the record, I think Shadows of Mordor looks like terribad fanfiction backed by Assassin's Creed/Arkham Asylum I-can-never-die-because-I-spam-Counter combat. If it was a delay because of competition, I personally would gamble against Sherdhers ehrf Merhduhr than Far Cry 4. So I have a hard time believing it was just competitive maneuvering, which even with the best evidence has plenty of holes in it.

NOOOOOO! Imma go cry now. :(

On the plus side, hopefully this means there will not be three caves used over and over and the ending won't consist of "pick a color/everyone dies/the end." Ouch! That hurts feelings just thinking about it! Don't do it!! Go ahead! Take an extra month! lol

On the plus side, will the keep be open anytime soon? That'd be awesome. :D

I am guessing the reason for the delay is for the inclusion of Multiplayer or a pay to shortcut the inevitable endless grind game mechanic
