This is as much to other fans as to the developers at BioWare and I hope that other fans will chime in with their own support of the decision to push back the release date.
First, I know delays have earned a crummy reputation. Companies that don't need to be named have pushed back games until they just never happened. Or possibly worse, they happened and were still buggy as a swamp. However, BioWare has an excellent track record. That is something BioWare has earned by crafting excellent game after excellent game. A company well known for making sure it's games receive the polish before they ship and the support after.
Second, this delay wasn't announced early in development when it could mean that something had derailed badly. DA:I is in pre-Alpha or Alpha now. What does this mean? It means that features are basically set. That this extra time will be spent on polish, on working out bugs, and making features run excellently. This means that the game, when it reaches your hands will not be busted. It also means that the game will not be continuously pushed back.
Third, show the devs some freakin` love. They are breaking their backs to get this game to us in the state that both they and we want to see it in. Which will knock our socks off!
So, please, don't whine about the change, I understand for those that already put in vacation requests, it seriously sucks. It is disappointing when plans go awry, but be glad that you won't be sitting to play a bugged out game when you do sit to play it.
Thank you, BioWare, for standing on quality. I am always thankful that I can trust you guys to put the work in required to have an excellent game worth sinking my money into.
