Now I'm the type of guy who almost always supports delays. Not just with video games, but any product (movies, tv, books, electronics, etc.) because in most cases a delay could only mean a more polished, complete product. Though they probably would never admit it, we all know why DA:2 and ME3 were such flops...if a delay means avoiding another episode like those, I'm all for it.

Can't help but say it though, this delay stings pretty badly. The game was set to come out the day after my birthday. I was super excited, it legitimately felt like a birthday present from BioWare to me :( . Mind you I'm not complaining or judging their decision, in fact I support it, but I can't help but feel a little salty from this.

Like having your birthday gift delayed!

Anyway, let's think of some positives that come from this delay. These can range from universal positives to personal ones, I'll start;

1) Obviously, the game will be better and more complete in the long run. Will likely cement it's legacy that much deeper in the history of epic RPG's.

2) It's new release date is Thanksgiving break, so for a College student like myself, that means a week off from school, and a solid week of playing, whereas the original release date was on a regular work/school week.

3) Give us time to tie up any loose ends with other video games, tv shows, movies, animes, etc. I'm the type of guy who doesn't really like to watch and keep up with multiple things at once, I like to focus one story at a time so I can get the most immersive experience. Watching multiple stories just takes you out the immersion considering you're constantly changing worlds/universes.

4) One extra thing to be Thankful for on Thanksgiving :P

Share your thoughts. Try to be positive! Every cloud has a silver lining.

  I will also say this.  I have been a QA Testers "widow".  He didn't work for Bioware, so I can't speak for them.  But I remember all too well not seeing my boyfriend (now husband) for nearly 5 weeks at a time.  I took to bringing him take-out and eating with him at his desk while he worked just to be able to see him.  The week before ship, I wouldn't hear from him at all.  It really sucks, and I saw what that did to the testers.  They really cared and wanted the game to be great, but the stress of meeting a hard deadline while trying to find and clear every bug they could find was rough.

  So if an extra few weeks means time for people to go home, see the kids, kiss the lover and think about something NOT work related for a day or two, I will happily give that to them.  Functional developers are good developers.

I can say since I have been there I havent really seen too much of this "mega crunch". Generally speaking up until the last week or so, we still dont have to do 7 days a week. And as far as I know (at least on Mass Effect 3) there was only one time where a few of us worked all night (grabbed a quick nap under our desks).

But yah it can be difficult at times.

Also note, I can say ME3 definitely was not a flop

I have taken this far enough off to left field, so lets leave it there.
