Well, I'll be playing Destiny come September.
I recommend waiting until September 28th, if possible. It's my birthday, and nothing has ever happened on that day except me being born. It'll be nice to have some company. Congrats on the incoming bundle of joy/pain/everlovingmisery/abundanceofjoy.
Actually:

I've got something positive! My local game store called me to tell me the release date had been pushed back, which was nice of them, the guy who called knew me from the times I've come into the store, and he asked me out.
10+ ego.
Thanks Bioware.
i said no, but still.

Could have sworn that game was a online only game?

Haha Thank you. And I will try my best to hold on till that day ;P
No offense, but this sounds like a damage control thread. Did you really need to make it?
Yeah man why not? Beats the negativity commonly found in some of these forums. It's a fun topic, finding the positive in a situation.
I'll have more time to save for a PS4 for my family before the game comes out (which is a bit of a relief since September is so expensive with back to school - $750 for two bus passes alone!).
I know exactly how you feel! I've spent so much money on bus passes over the course of my education ![]()
I need this positivity!
Okay, Let's think...
Ah! I'm currently pregnant with my first child and my due date is September 24th. Assuming I give birth late September, It's unlikely I would have been able to play anyway. By November 18th, my baby will be at least close to two months and I'll hopefully be getting into a flow where I can do time management better.
Congratulations!
1. It will give me more time to work through my backlog. I've been doing a pretty spectacular job this year of turning anticipation into finished games, and this gives me another month to get through something extra. (Maybe I'll see if I can get KOTOR to run without crashing ...)
2. I'm going on a trip early in November, which now lands right before the game comes out. That will be a great distraction and now I know I won't be walking around Tasmania wishing I could get back to my Inquisitor.
I'm off all week for Thanksgiving so in that respect, the delay is perfectly timed. Then again, my mother is flying in to visit for the Holiday so I might have to pay attention to her somewhat while she's here.

Also, yeah...an extra month of Destiny ain't a bad thing, imo. And now I'll be able to squeeze in the BL Pre Sequel as well!
Yeah, they two biggest pluses for me are more time to make the game better (polishes and hopefully more hairstyles) and I get a week off from school to play this
Didn't even think about the latter. Also, I have a lot of other games I need to play.
It will give me more time to be negative on the BioWare forums!
Because they're definitely taking this time to shoehorn in day one DLC.
'Well, it was delayed. We had always planned to have DLC released a month after release.'
Of course, we know the real reason BioWare delayed the game. Someone gave them cupcakes and now they think they can hold the game hostage for more.
Until we see some proof, you're just paranoid.
November is that ever-elusive triple paycheck month. I'll have my R9 290 in no time before the game shows up on my doorstep. GET HYPE!

Our second is due in January. I'm a little down on the delay as Nov./Dec. or the months of the year when I have no life, and baby is due on New Years. Ack!
However, I will share the wisdom I learned from my husband from when our first was new. He would put her into a chest carrier and sit at the computer and game with his headphones on while she napped. She was happy just being close to him and he got to de-stress and earn HUGE relationship bonus points, ("No, no hun. You go rest. I'll take care of the baby.") So that is my plan. Bring in the bassinette and carrier, plug in the headphones, and frequently hit AutoSave! Best of luck on bring in the next gen of gamers.
I'd be more happier to know Bioware is taking time to finalize their product, rather that then them getting complaints of rushed storylines and buggy gameplay.
Now I'm the type of guy who almost always supports delays. Not just with video games, but any product (movies, tv, books, electronics, etc.) because in most cases a delay could only mean a more polished, complete product. Though they probably would never admit it, we all know why DA:2 and ME3 were such flops...if a delay means avoiding another episode like those, I'm all for it.
Can't help but say it though, this delay stings pretty badly. The game was set to come out the day after my birthday. I was super excited, it legitimately felt like a birthday present from BioWare to me
. Mind you I'm not complaining or judging their decision, in fact I support it, but I can't help but feel a little salty from this.
Like having your birthday gift delayed!
Anyway, let's think of some positives that come from this delay. These can range from universal positives to personal ones, I'll start;
1) Obviously, the game will be better and more complete in the long run. Will likely cement it's legacy that much deeper in the history of epic RPG's.
2) It's new release date is Thanksgiving break, so for a College student like myself, that means a week off from school, and a solid week of playing, whereas the original release date was on a regular work/school week.
3) Give us time to tie up any loose ends with other video games, tv shows, movies, animes, etc. I'm the type of guy who doesn't really like to watch and keep up with multiple things at once, I like to focus one story at a time so I can get the most immersive experience. Watching multiple stories just takes you out the immersion considering you're constantly changing worlds/universes.
4) One extra thing to be Thankful for on Thanksgiving
Share your thoughts. Try to be positive! Every cloud has a silver lining.
Canadian Thanksgiving is in October...

I will also say this. I have been a QA Testers "widow". He didn't work for Bioware, so I can't speak for them. But I remember all too well not seeing my boyfriend (now husband) for nearly 5 weeks at a time. I took to bringing him take-out and eating with him at his desk while he worked just to be able to see him. The week before ship, I wouldn't hear from him at all. It really sucks, and I saw what that did to the testers. They really cared and wanted the game to be great, but the stress of meeting a hard deadline while trying to find and clear every bug they could find was rough.
So if an extra few weeks means time for people to go home, see the kids, kiss the lover and think about something NOT work related for a day or two, I will happily give that to them. Functional developers are good developers.

I can say since I have been there I havent really seen too much of this "mega crunch". Generally speaking up until the last week or so, we still dont have to do 7 days a week. And as far as I know (at least on Mass Effect 3) there was only one time where a few of us worked all night (grabbed a quick nap under our desks).
But yah it can be difficult at times.
Also note, I can say ME3 definitely was not a flop
I have taken this far enough off to left field, so lets leave it there.

Didn't mean to offend. It was a good game, damn good, but...
Let's allow old ghosts to rest.
What do you do?
Anyone who gets payed bi-weekly gets 26 checks a year. So, 10 months out of the year, 2 paychecks. 2 months out of the year, 3 paychecks.
Well at least now i'll be able to complete Shadow of Mordor before i start Inquisition. DAI's old release date was a day after Shadow of Mordor's and I hate starting a game and not finishing it until I move on to the next one, so now i'll get plenty of time to play the hell out that SOM.

I actually think a lot about how the devs and QA Testers work too much, and always feel terrible about it.
Then I feel like a creep for worrying about the well-being people I've never met.
Release date for Thanksgiving is all well and good for those in America, but what about those who overseas? New release date falls right into the middle of my assessment dates for my diploma ![]()
We're getting five extra weeks of John Epler tweeting about squishing bugs.
