At least 30 minutes. Hoping the CC is good enough that I don't have to speed hours in making a decent face.

Dragon's Dogma CC was one of the best I have seen. You could make your character ugly or attractive very easily. I hope Bioware could at least be able to do that. I would be embarrassing if a cheaper game to produce from the last generation has better CC than a AAA game for next generation.

That depends both on how in-depth the CC is and how well I can see what I'm doing. In DAO, I sometimes spend ~15 min. trying to decide which blue eyes are the right ones, which shade of blonde is better, etc.

The DAI CC will have more options, but it will probably be easier to see what I'm doing because of better lighting (and hopefully zoom-in features). I'll still spend a lot of time deciding which color should be on the inner or outer iris, but at least I'll be able to see them clearly.

Like everyone else, a ridiculous amount.

If the CC is more in depth this time around, it'll be an even more ridiculous amount of time.

Way too much time.  I'm pretty ridiculous about needing everything to be just right.  And I don't mean like making the perfect face, but just nothing.. weird or out of place.  I restart the game so much after seeing the face in-action it's not even funny. I wish the CC would allow us to see the character in various lightings and generic environments (like indoors, outdoors, at night, day, etc.).  I'm sure I will re-create my first character at least 10 good times.

I didn't have this issue so much with DA2.  I saw pretty quickly that there was no way for me to make a face that looked as good as the default, and the best faces I could make had the family looking really screwy.  So I just went with the default.  DA2 made it easy for me, though I prefer making my own look.

I don't really use mods, but I can be picky. I spend a while making sure the face looks ok at several angles instead of looking ok straight on but then looking messed up from the side. My first one I tend to spend less time on because I want to get to the GAME already! But on any runs after that I take a lot longer making the character look how I want them to for what I'm rping.

 technically this game is Cross-gen.

As to the answer to OP's question: Longer than most people I'd assume, but less than I probably should.

Depends on how in-depth the CC is. I don't usually mess too much with facial features, hair and colouration are the things that most of my time. I also have a vague idea how my character is going to look, so that'll speed things up.

I find that if I choose the preset with the best nose and work from there I spend way less time on my character.

Why is making noses the most difficult part making a damned face?!

I tinker with character creator til I make a character who'd make me drop my panties in a heartbeat.

Then I scrap it all and make another one twice as hot.

Scrap and repeat til I make a character I'll probably spend more time gawking at than playing the game.

This only applies to men.

For women, I use the defaults cause ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

Depends on how good CC is I guess??? If it's anything like (and I doubt it will be) DA2 then not so much.

I just use the defaults. I've tried to mess around with the CC but they always end up like they've taken a beating with the ugly stick. I now leave well enough alone.

I usually spend at least 30 minutes with character creation. And somehow I am more fussy about my female characters than male ones. I once spent over an hour making a FemShep in ME2.

I don't spend THAT long per character. As picky as I am, I'm really efficient at getting characters how I want them. I do however restart as many times as it takes to fix some issue that doesn't show up in the CC (dreaded gaunt cheeks/razor cheekbones for example). ME2 totally traumatized me since it had better graphics and an improved CC from ME1 I wanted to remake all my Sheps (and there were a lot) but that 25 minute unskippable intro cutscene...*shudders* I had to see that SO many times! The mirror of transformation in DA2 was the perfect solution, I'm sad that we won't have it again T_T

Yup... Same here... I don't even remember how many times I must have restarted ME2 to get the perfect face. How I hate that cinematic. But after I am familiar with a CC making a new character takes about 5 to 10 minutes...

Most of my male characters will have straight noses, black hair, blue eyes, stubble and more or less square jaws.

Females if I do make one, will have button nose, green eyes, red hair and a round jaw line.

I rarely vary from that. Created a warrior in DA2 with blonde hair for the first time. Not bad. Just not what I like. And all of them are always Caucasian, no Idea why. Darker shades don't look as good in games. They don't feel natural.

I'm extremely not picky with creating my characters , they need to look perfect to what I'm wanting and then when I'm done I usually go what would this person look like instead and start over again lol I think I've literally spent over an hour once changing things and seeing what others look like and then male or female

I don't stop until the character I make is as close to perfection as possible and then I quit the game, start over the next day drunk and go with what ever feels right in that drunken stupor.

<<< I spent an hour making that character in the Destiny beta CC, and it was fairly limited. :P

For an Elder Scrolls or Dragon Age game, I plan on 1-2 hours for face creation and coming up with a name that suits the face. A really good character creator with lots of customization options gets me super excited! I really hope DAI has an amazing one.

Before or after the game is released?  I'm already trying to figure what I want to play as most.  Does that count?  If not, about 2 hours.

A few minutes on the face, a few hours on the name.

Well, that's in MMOs where you can't have the same name as anyone else. Obviously I want Balalaika, but for some reason it's always taken. Damn otaku playing my videogames.

I have no idea, actually.

Give me the game, then I'll tell you.

Seriously.

I can't predict how long it will take.

I hear ya on that. Like I said. At least half an hour went into Quinntus Hawke's nose. (Worth every minute.)

Based on the previous Dragon Age games ... around 20 minutes.

I tend to make my characters very good looking though, so that's why I can take so long.
