I threw my krogan soldier into a gold match against reapers in ghost, and two guys with mics laughed at me for using an executioner pistol. I've always loved this gun, and my soldier is built for power damage and fire explosions (6/6/6/5/3), so when I can hold a relatively powerful and versatile gun that has a power amplifier and leaves me with 200% cooldown, I don't know why that would be laughable. It's less insulting than confusing. I was third in score and close behind the second, and though I went down a few times I extracted.

Now, at the time I hadn't even managed to get a pistol barrel, nor the power amplifier, though I have them now, but I doubt they noticed. The strategy is simple: fire, carnage, reload, all day every day. If there's a group of enemies or one or more bosses, throw an inferno grenade and explode all of the things. It works really well at any range. On silver carnage and the executioner each one shot basic troopers, and gold too with decent consumables. I even have him in red and black armor and imagine him as a blood pack arsonist of some kind.

It's been a few days, but the confusion is still nagging me. Is this funny?

No it isn't, executioner is a valid choice, although I always think pistols and smgs look like they're going to get squashed by those big clumsy Krogan hands.

Cool down isn't that important for the krosol though.

They are probably of the headbutt menta... well no, just idiot mentality.

 

All my Krogan builds have to have full fitness melee/health spread, but more theme for me and well headbutting all things

 

These guys aren't worth losing any sleep over as you are more than fine in your buildout. 

 

I like the Executioner to and it tends to actually be my Krogan backup.

Thanks. I think what they were laughing about mainly was that the pistol was my only weapon, but the cycle of fire/carnage/reload flows so perfectly with the cooldown low, and if I've got incendiary ammo, explosions go off EVERYWHERE, even before I start throwing grenades. I don't think there's another weapon I'm good enough with to justify lowering the cooldown on carnage and screwing this up, it'll just hurt my dps with this class.

 

When I want to carry two big guns and headbutt my problems away, I play the krogan sentinel.

I kind of hate the Executioner on any class that doesn't have a shield stripping power, but there's definitely nothing wrong with you using it on a Krogan if you like it.

Guys that are on mics laughing at people are usually d**ks. If I see someone with a bad setup I usually just send them a message. The Executioner wouldn't have been my first choice of handguns to use with KroSol unless I relying more on melee than Carnage, but it's not the worst choice. Whoever came in 2nd probably stopped laughing after the scores tallied up.

Using a Blood Pack weapon on a Blood Pack character in an RPG...how dare you! Personally I prefer a gun that applies several stacks of incendiary to really pile on that fire DOT (PPR, Reegar, etc). I like the Executioner more on my Vorcha for role playing purposes.

 

But to answer your question, no. No issue with the Executioner on the Krogan Soldier.

Executioner pistol is amazing, those guys didn't have a clue. Regardless you're gonna hear some stupid stuff playing with randoms online, best to learn to ignore it.

Is this funny? Yes, the gun is fun - I usually put it on the Huntress for lazy shooting. But for the real fun, try the double shot Executioner (Destroyer). I can laugh all match long with that setup.

To get back at them, set the game to Reactor Hazard vs Collectors. Each time one of those fuckers runs through the reactor, make them crispy...medium or well-done, you choose. Each time you see a Possessed Abom near, Happy Newyear. Boom! If they're real comedians, they'll still laugh. If they're the same predictable, insecure a-holes, they'll run off to their moms, whom are probably angry at them...because diner is getting cold, and they've said, "Give me five minutes, mom," about ten times already. There ya go!

To be fair, probably not many pugs would think to use a good pistol on a non-Adept and play it like a caster, and they might not realize the potential inherent in pistols like the Executioner, Talon, or Arc Pistol. The right thing to do, though, would have been to ask about your build and wait to see it in action, instead of just laughing. That just makes them look like jerks.

Edit: I'm going to yell "Happy New Year" next time I blow up a possessed abomination.

I would have said "Pistol's not gonna cut it!" like the Krogan did in ME2.

 

But since Executioner is selectable, it is a valid choice.

Executioner rocks. Scope + heavy barrel and you have a pocket Widow. Anyone who does not recognize this fact is a pyjak.

People are idiots and I mean by that true ****** idiots. In the past, it wasn't so bad because we didn't have instant access to all of the stupidest thoughts of people, etc.  Gaming can bring out the most idiotic of the moron horde.

 

On topic, Sexecutioner is one of the best sounding guns in the game and is damn effective.
