executioner is fine for gold, but there are definitely better choices. When people laugh at you in those situations let them laugh, then when you outscore them you can laugh at them
Is this really that funny?

Not something I'd laugh about, but I also don't see the appeal.
The Executioner (on a non-Destroyer) generally works best on kits with a shield stripper like Overload, or with a super low cooldown CC power like Throw or Concussive Shot together with a priming ammo consumable.
I guess Carnage works as the latter somewhat, but it's rather painfully slow in both cooldown and projectile speed...

My KroSol will never be caught dead with a wimpy pistol. -200% CD with the Claymore/Crusader and Typhoon for a secondary is the way to go. He won't laugh at the OP though, just slip him an extra dose of genophage .... for the good of the bloodline.

If you want to then do it that way, (while its not one of my favourites) the executioner is a valid choice, but if you go for ammo-primes you should pay attention to not override other players power-primes, since ammo-primes are always Level 1 +0% while power-primes will be Level 6 most of the time and might also have a 50% (and sometimes even higher) bonus to detonation-damage.
They may look the same but ammo-primed detonations are pitiful compared to power-primed ones (unless the priming power is at Level 1).

I like the gun a lot, powerful enough to be decent on pretty well any class. I don't normally use it on krogans mind you.

The best way to shut up trolls is just playing your favored class the right way. If I had a penny for every "Novaguard isn't a Gold class!" mouth I've shut up by ending 1st with 150k+ points....I could buy Bioware by now

Yeah, I don't see many of them myself. I admit they're very medi-gel and ops pack consuming. Not to mention the damn sync-kills.
I remember helping the last one I saw in Condor/Gold/Geth by getting the Juggy and dropping everything's shields with the Acolyte. Ended up getting 200k+, lol.

Presumably most people take the Novaguard into a gold game, die a lot more than they experienced in Silver, and shelve the kit forever.
Skilled players like yourself are going to work out what went wrong, maybe respec, and try again. But it's a minority approach, and there are 63 other characters - most of them easier to play - if that seems like hard work.

Funny thing is that I barely changed it from it's Silver times...lol. Maybe I levelled up the Hurricane and put an armor-piercing mod on it, but little else. Ah, and put in the Acolyte as well.
But the thing is, I mostly play the TGI+Saber if I want credits/get serious, and basically all the other classes if I wanna get fun without worrying about my score in the slightest. So yea, you're pretty right about that...
