That's good news. Because I have points, but I already have all the DLC I would want from the previous games. We cannot do any type of points to cash conversion, unfortunately. We do have some plans to deal with this situation in the near future, but it is still in the planning stages right now.
Q: Will the PC version use BioWare points for DLC or human money? A: Human money.

In that case, I'll use my few remaining points for item packs in DA2
.
I'm glad that BioWare is shifting to regular money now.

And for the dlc value discussion, just look at the rabid sales figures borderlands 2 goty is making right now on steam! I will never get over the fact that we'll never get me trilogy goty or at least me3 goty

Same. I accidentally bought too many points a few years back and thought I'd save the extra ones for Inquisition DLC. It's not a big deal since I don't have that many points (1520 to be precise), but it'd still be a bit sad to lose something I've already paid for. I guess I can always buy the Omega DLC for ME3...
Wow, I sound terribly whiny. Sorry.
You should get Omega anyway, it's pretty fun.

Excellent decision.
When DLC's are released I'll buy them, no doubt, just like I have for all BioWare products I've bought to date stemming back from BG with the tower expansion to ME3 and all those expansion DLC's.
It's nice knowing exactly how much I'm paying instead of messing around trying to get the exact bioware points etc.

Thank the Maker!!!
I have eigthy-something points that have been laughing at my face for YEARS!
My biggest gripe against DLC is gone now... Thank you! ![]()
Now that this is out of the way and we will be purchasing DLC through Origin.... PC users will be able to get discounts on DLC?

Don't make me go full Refund Guy for these 60 points I have left, bioWare.
This was my first thought as well. ![]()
But my second thought was, "Oh well, maybe I'll blow my few remaining points on some of those ME2/ME3 item packs I never bothered with before." ![]()
Already have every single DA/DA2 DLC possible. (Well, except "Ser Isaac's Armor".)
And if you don't already have it, I agree with the previous poster who recommended getting "Omega".
It's a great way to celebrate your entire "Mass Effect" adventure! ![]()

Omega was great, though to go on a side tangent for the moment, I really wanted to save the clone. ![]()

You can't? Or you won't? Cause those are 2 different things.
Seems like the cash to points conversion was possible, you'd think a refund would be as well... Cannot implies it is impossible to do, seeing as how companies and store owners have been giving people refunds for centuries I'm guessing it's not a 'can't' issue.

Give them a few months, and if nothing turns up from them about refunds/conversion then complain.
Origin doesnt have a wallet system like steam does.

I think it's fine to complain now. I mean I doubt too many people are out anything more than $10 anyway but it's not like these Bioware points are new, they had to know at some point they would be phased out and should have had a plan for that end point well before now. Not in the beginning of the 'planning phase' when they announce it. Bioware/EA is not some small, no name indy company that would have made sense if they were planning things as they go.
Also what does Steams wallet system have to do with refunding peoples credit or debit cards?

Can't. It has to do how we financially and legally set up BioWare Points back in the day. Because of that decision we cannot turn them into cash. It was not a consequence that we foresaw.

Human money? I didn't realize alien currencies existed on the planet so that we have to define whether money is human or not! ![]()

Done and done. Blew my last 160 BWpts getting the "Aegis Pack" for ME2. (Always was a sucker for a good sniper rifle.)
Now I'll have to do a complete ME run-through, just to make proper use of it! ![]()

I have to wonder...does this mean the DLC will go down in price over time the same way the games do? With the points it costs more to get the dlc for games after a while than the games themselves.
