Being (in my opinion) one of the most underrated characters in the Dragon Age franchise, I've decided to create a thread for Anora, Queen of Ferelden.

Anora is confirmed to be returning in Dragon Age Inquisition, that said her role may be minor or major; we don't know yet.

What we know about Anora:

Spoiler

Feel free to contribute to the discussion with any theories or speculations regarding Anora's involvement in DA:I (even if she's not Queen) and the state of Ferelden during the events of DA:I. Or you can just bring up any random topic related to Anora.

Just remember to be civil!

She won't exist as a powerful figure in any of my world-states.  I never gave her power in DA:O, and I never spared her father's life.

She always exists as a powerful Figure in any of my world-states. I had her Rule with hardened Alistair (Loghain is sacrificed), had her Rule alone and will possibly once have her Rule with my Warden.

Anora is my favorite npc in DAO! I'm really excited I get to see her in DAI! I'm looking forward to seeing how Ferelden is doing under her rule.

I'm sorry, I think you've got the wrong thread. I don't see 'bash' anywhere in the thread title.

I think, even were she not made queen, Anora would still be involved in Ferelden politics.

I'd love to see more reactivity than just ambient dialogue mentioning how the country is faring under so-and-so's rule. I'm not sure what I would want to see specifically, but perhaps Fereldan merchants have better selection/prices if Anora is ruling. Maybe elves whom we encounter are friendlier to us under certain DA Keep circumstances?
It's probably too hard to implement such small inclusions based on plot decisions, but I can dream. :)

It'll be interesting to see how she views the Mage/Templar conflict and the Breach, since she's generally painted as more of a pragmatic ruler than, for example, Alistair. I'm hoping that the Inquisitor gets to have a solid talk with her about what Ferelden plans to do to help, since Anora definitely doesn't strike me as the kind of person to sit on her hands while the world is literally being torn apart.

If she takes a concrete side in the Mage/Templar conflict and doesn't prioritize closing the Breach ahead of that war, it might make things very interesting indeed...

I forgot to add that if Alistair is a solo king, he'll imprison Anora. That said she'll still remain the heir to the throne should anything happen to Alistair.

Oh please, lock her in a tower, she will have been given an Arling within the fortnight.

I do hope for a solid conversation between both parties, something a lot more than King Alistair's cameo in DA2 which was literally, "Hi my name's Alistair! Okay bye.".

On another note thinking about it, we really know nothing about which stance she has towards the mages x templars conflict which leads me to believe that she's somewhat indifferent and will be prioritizing sealing the breach. That said from another perspective she might see the conflict as choatic and incredibly dangerous for her country so she might want to aim towards ending the conflict as soon as possible. Or maybe she could be swayed. It'll be interesting to see.

I'm sorry, I think you've got the wrong thread. I don't see 'bash' anywhere in the thread title.

You're incorrect on two counts.  First, what I said wasn't a 'bash'.  It was a rather neutral declaration of her involvement in my personal canon's thus far.  Secondly, it does apply to what constitutes valid discussion with regards to Anora.  See the below quote for the corroborating statement made by the OP, particularly the bolded part.

If I were to expound upon the relevance of what I said, I would add that by not giving her power in DA:O directly impacts my speculation of her involvement in DA:I (in that she wont be); again, for my own personal canons.  Another purpose of this thread, I believe.

I do apologize if my beliefs and choices somehow offend you personally.

I love Anora and wish she had a short little romantic encounter for the male Warden. Also, I am very interested in finding out her role in DAI if she was sent to the dungeon at the landsmeet.

You are right though, you are free to talk about anything Anora related, but keep in mind what you said can be taken as 'bashing' and might have been unnecessary because you aren't really adding something to discuss and it might agitate a few fans.

I'm not too fond of Anora, but I made her queen in every playthrough that didn't involve Alistair becoming king. She won't be queen in my import for DA:I so I'm curious to see if she'll still appear.

In Awakening she seemed to actually care about the Warden though.

As for the latter, it was suggested by someone she might attempt a coup, I personally think it's far fetched but still plausible.

I like her, though I think the game could have done a better job at showing her competence.  Hopefully she'll be able to impress more in DA:I

You mean you didn't have Oghren do it instead?

I thought that Anora had the guile and wisdom to make for a powerful queen, so I preferred to have her rule alone.  Alistair just seemed superfluous to me.  I'm looking forward to seeing her again... hopefully they have something interesting planned for the many variations of Ferelden's legitimate ruler.

I had mixed feelings for Anora. She did wind up as Queen in two of my playthroughs, once married to hardened Alistair and once because Alistair did the US so she got back on the throne. In that last playthrough, my warden decided to travel the world. As you all say, Anora seem to be more "pragmatic" and I couldn't see her lightly allowing who had once tried to depose her to stay in the kingdom alive, hero or no.

This pretty much sums up what I think of her. However, I did hate how Anora was on a lesser footing than Alistair when they were bethrothed (lines defaulted to Alistair, etc).

I can't wait to see Anora on Frostbite III engine. She's incredibly beautiful already.

My canon world state currently has Alistair and Anora married. I wonder if her cameo will be 'overwritten' by Alistair who appears instead of her, or she and Alistair appear.

I actually look pretty forward to seeing her again, so I hope Alistair doesn't necessarily take precedence of the pair.

Just showing one or the other is kind of lame... I hope they took the time to make an extra scene with both of them if they're married, but you never know...

She'll probably get a line or two in one of my later playthroughs, since in some of them I let Alistair stay a warden  or married him to her (sorry, dude.  stby).  I generally let myself be willingly railroaded into the Alistair = good Loghaine= bad camp. Loghain will probably have as many lines as she does.

She's married to hardened Alistair in my save states so it'd be interesting to see if they get along any better now.
