I'm curious about something that I've not seen proper confirmation of, and that is the ability to farm items and/or grind levels.

 

The videos we were shown recently suggested that repeatedly killing bears would thin out the population, so does this mean then that enemies will respawn once you leave an area, or will places remain cleared like the previous games?

 

And secondly, if enemies do respawn, do plants and such also respawn?

 

Thirdly, if enemies do respawn, will it be possible then to farm all the mats/items/etc I need, and can I grind all the way to max level outside of questing?

I wish I could give you a concrete answer, because I've also been wondering about this, but it sounds like the enemies will respawn to some degree... but on the other hand, they did say that the Hinterlands is bigger than all of DA:O's map, and the level cap is around 25-30... so if just one area is that large, it stands to reason that we will be able to hit the cap if we explore enough, even without respawn.  Unless it's like 1 exp per a darkspawn or something... that would be beyond annoying...

probably depends on the state of the world and how far along you are
