I still think that having the next game in Tevinter would make for an amazing backdrop for your character's Race/Class choices. If you're a mage you're obviously in the higher ups of society, if you're a dwarve you could be apart of the trade network between the Tevinter and Dwarves, non-mage elf you start out as a slave, non-mage maybe a grunt for a mage, and a non-mage Qunari maybe a POW?

If we play as a slave, then I definitely want the ability to completely dismantle Tevinter.

Or at least the slave part. We'd be like Thedas' Moses.  B)

I actually see Tevinter as being more likely as the main antagonist of the next game. DA2 set plenty of seeds for the Qunari Invasion plot, but aside from Iron Bull's spying, that doesn't seem to be a factor in DAI(of course it's impossible to say that with any certainty).

Tevinter, on the other hand, offers one of the primary hostile factions in the game. I could easily see that as setting Tevinter up for a major role come DA4.

Would make for a boring, generic, high fantasy plot. Though we already have 2, so not unlikely. Honestly tired of role playing games taking away choices where it actually counts, namely serious distinct moral views.

Not necessarily. I mean, I could easily see how it could fall into that, but I think there's a lot of room for creativity in dealing with plots for Tevinter.

K. Tevinter is an enemy why? To whom? What if I want to roleplay a mage that is totally comfortable with magocracy and slavery? No? High fantasy, good and evil, traditional morals, need to stop the big bad slavers, yadda, yadda,

With most modern day RPG's I feel like I am playing the game Overlord over and over again, only in reverse.

And when the qunari invade I'll most likely not be able to play someone on their side. And if I can, then the game will resolve in a way where neither side decisively wins so they don't have to make two completely different games to account for whether or not the qunari rule everything.

Thing is, if you want to keep the universe interesting you have to keep all sides alive and kicking, and give a choice to the player to join any, and make some victory that is in a way significant but at the same time not world changing.

Or you have the player play through the plot of all different sides in different games in a chain of global events, with each campaign being of different morality.

But this ''fight the ''bad'' guys'' is really getting old.

I for one hope that we can convince Alexius to join our cause, I mean having Tevinter slave warriors and mages at my command would be awesome.

Maybe we can offer Liliana to him as a personal slave.

No slave dealing in Inquisition iirc. Or at least, you can't do it.

A shame.

It's a shame people want to play as slavers and inflict one of the worst things one can do to another person.

Get off your high horse. How many NPC's are you going to kill in Inquisition? I would say murder ranks up there with slavery.

It's a V-I-D-E-O-G-A-M-E.

The only people I kill in video games are those who attack me first, so back off.

And I don't care. I still find it disturbing and have a right to express such.

What is so bad about it? it's just a video game made up of a bunch of pixels. Besides, some of us like to play evil characters and I see having slaves/partaking in slavery as a way to hammer home that my character is evil. I always see more choices as a good thing in video games, no matter how bad they might be in real life.

You are stil roleplaying a character who is inflicting mass slaughter. The fact that they throw the stone first doesn't really change anything.

I get annoyed with people who are judgmental and try to preach to others.

*How dare you want to play a slaver!* (says this as he/she is decapitating someone)

It's a shame people are self righteous and split actions into right and wrong.

Um, that changes everything actually. It goes from murder to self-defense. Those are literally opposites in criminal law.

You mean like you are doing now? You're being judgemental and preaching to me about how I shouldn't be judgmental and preaching to those who condone practicing videogame slavery.

Nah, this person just gets annoyed, not judging.

The mindset disturbs me. "Oh, they aren't real people." is the defense usually given, and that same defense was used by actual slavers in human history.

And in my opinion there should be a limit in what is acceptable in games, just like everything else.

No, the poster is telling me I shouldn't do it and am just as bad by having to kill enemy characters. That's being judgmental and preachy.

Be Judgmental! :) I honestly don't care ;O

If my pragmatic lawful evil human inquistor believes in the usage of actual, official, legal slaves in order to fight the enemies of stability, and order then he would do so and without hesitation.

Completely disagree.
