And when it gets really bad, I turn down the difficulty. Rannoch Reaper fight on Narrative. You only need three shots. I hate that stupid fight. That thing should have been dead on the first hit.
What are your extra-gaming habits?

First time I played that on insanity, when he shot at me I stood there like an idiot, thinking I still had plenty of time to dodge out of the way, and the beam followed me. That was a real, "oh crap" moment.
After reloading I did the same thing again, just to verify that yes it really happened, heh.
But the third time, that reaper was a goner.

I played ME3 on insanity on my first play. I was kicking ass. After 2 hrs fighting that thing. I was on Narrative. It was still beating me. I was in tears. I went on Youtube and had to watch someone beat it. It still took me six more times to get past it.... on Narrative. I hate that boss fight. It is one where I want "God Mode" so I can stand there and just kill that thing.
That fight alone made me pick destroy.

Yeah the Rannoch reaper fight is probably the only part of the game that gave me serious trouble, because during that slow-mo sequence, I could never get the beam to tighten fast enough before the reaper fired. It didn't help that my TV's settings kind of made it harder to see where the damn beam was pointing.
Likewise about Destroy. The Reapers could've been filled with the finest candies and liquors and I'll still send them to hell.

For the Rannoch fight as soon as the Reaper starts shooting triple roll right (or left).

Da hell is wrong with you people? ![]()
You stand at the far right or far left. Aim your super cool gun. When the Reaper beam comes up, you run to the right/left (opposite of where you are). No dodging/rolling, just run.
When the game goes to slow mo mode because oooh damn dat Reaper is getting close, you just keep pulling that trigger.
Reaper dead.

That's all I do, just start running from one end of the battlefield to the other, refining my aim a little bit at a time.

Sitting in my glorious leather armchair, I look up at Miranda, laying sideways on the shelf.
You're only here because you came with the bundle. Thane may be all disfigured, but at least he can stand.
I'm surrounded by half-empty water bottles, all from previous gaming sessions. Up to five may be present at any given time. My Bersa is chilling on the Xbox, I can't have it stabbing me in the back while I sit in my glorious leather armchair. Also, looks boss as f***. My central A/C is dead. Somehow, my lady managed to catch that sh*t on fire. The window unit located next to my glorious leather armchair, is turned up to the max.
I love that chair.
Weekend gaming usually involves alcohol. Three light ******-beers in rapid succession, followed by a few shots of whiskey seems to get the job done.

Mostly I keep ice Water nearby. Sometimes I eat dinner while playing. My laptop gets cleaned afterward, if need be.
I'm not much of an alcohol drinker. As for other things... I don't do drugs. Never have, never will. Not saying any of YOU shouldn't imbibe. Just not my thing.

This here. How anyone can have trouble with that scene is beyond me.

Soft drinks and I'll bring out the chips and dip.
But I make sure my controller doesn't get greasy

That sounds really cosy =) cat-interference while playing is standard if you have one at home. Mine used to sit herself down right before the screen and look all " fancy meeting you here... How about a backrubb * purrrr*".Beer, soda and ginger snap cookies with my lady friend having her legs across my lap doing her work on her laptop and my cat headbutting my hand or my head while playing.
I actually have nothing to eat and drink. Find it distracting while playing =) If there is time I clean the table completely so that there is nothing but me and the game. It's just like when I'm reading, time and space goes away and I just exist in that book or game. Part of why I love it.

Always beverages for me. Water, iced tea, coffee, beer, or wine - all good depending on the time of day. I only have alcohol when I'm off from work the next day. The funny moments are twice as funny after a few drinks.

Here's what works for me --
The game seems to have the same targeting subroutine that the Overlord has (Geth cannon). You wait STILL until it targets you then haul ass. In Ranoch hold still till you see it begin to fire, then ROLL once or twice, & target. Before it can recharge & refire, it's blasted.
For gaming, HOT herbal tea. Sometimes with roadkill (beef jerky). When I feel really raunchy, I act like a nervous baseball pitcher and tear off 3' of hubba bubba bubble gum. For games that are REAL spooky (Doom3, Tomb Raider), I switch from thundering sound system to headphones so I can HEAR that 3-story monster sneak up on me from the left side.
